Great place, great location

  • 5 of 5

Very clean, spacious apartment right near downtown and in walking distance to Independence Hall, center city and great restaurants. I would highly recommend staying here.

comfortable, complete and conveniently located

  • 4 of 5

this property worked well for me and my friends who were making a short visit to philadelphia to see the major tourist sites. many of the places we wanted to visit were within a short walk.

we did not spend much time in the apartment and did not prepare any meals. mainly we were there to sleep. there was way more capacity than we needed, but since we each like to have our own room, this was a reasonable alternative to four hotel rooms in a similar location.

i could easily see this apartment being used for a large family group or a group of couples who have a reason to be in PHL.

Good location but the unit left a lot to be desired

  • 3 of 5

The location of the townhouse was good for our purposes. One drawback were the overflowing garbage dumpsters lining the street. The unit itself was spacious and accommodated the nine of us well. It could have been set up to be warm and inviting but the really missed this mark. It was not as clean as it should have been, in fact it was kind of dirty. The bedding was old and needed to be replaced. Two of our beds did not have blankets or comforters. We had to use throws to cover up. The towels were well past their useful life. The dishwasher was not operating, nor did the clothes dryer dry towels. No accommodation was offered to compensate for these inconveniences. To the contrary, we were presented with additional charges for using seven beds instead of four. We were also told that the rental "included" one parking spot...included means for an extra $25/day. We encountered and reported ants in the kitchen but were not offered any assistance in dealing with them. The townhouse has a ton of potential and our stay could have been considerably more comfortable with a little cleaning, some nice bedding and some decent towels. In short, put forth an effort to make your guests comfortable. I expected a lot more for the money.

Owner's Response: We are sorry that you have felt that way about our facilities. The dishwasher was broken due to the prior guess therefore we were not able to replace/fix it due to the quick turn around. The extra beds and parking issues have been communicate with you prior to your arrival. Thank you for your input we will look into the issues.

Great place

Our international guests stayed here for 6 nights and loved the house. It was well-equipped with everything they needed, clean, and conveniently located. The owner was helpful and communicative. We would highly recommend this property.

Perfect for all your needs

  • 5 of 5

I recently stayed in this perfectly located townhouse with my two college friends from CA and my sister from TX. It was great! Having 4 bedrooms with a full bath in each was awesome! The location was perfect to get around Philly. I would definitely to back! Our only (minor) disappointment was the two couches on the first floor where the TV was located. They were very uncomfortable. Other than that it was a "win win"!

Good stuff you might want to know

  • 5 of 5

With three colleagues (all of us attending a meeting at the Philly Convention Center), I stayed a week. Lovely place - clean and nicely appointed. Each of us had our own bedroom and bath. Two of the rooms (larger) face the street; the other two (smaller) face a back space between buildings that has some ventilation equipment. The street side was generally quiet, with the exception of the one night that the cable TV folks dug a trench in the street. The back side always was quiet, with the equipment making a bit of white noise. None of us (ages 66, 60, 50 and 45) had any trouble with all the stairs in this property. Similarly, we found walking to the Philly CC, to restaurant row, or to historic sites to be easy and enjoyable on well-lit and clean streets.

The wifi functioned well, the kitchen was very well equipped, the appliances all worked, and house supplies were abundant (we did not need to run out and purchase more toilet paper or paper towels). Much appreciated!

Correspondence with the host was average. She was professional, moderately prompt in replying, and definitely not chatty. She did not meet us when we arrived but really didn't need to. The instructions were clear as to how to enter and leave the property via a combination lock. A few things would have been handy to know, such as a reminder to pull the outside door shut behind you. It did not always click shut on its own. As people who tend to use public transportation, it also would have been handy to know that the nearby SEPTA rail line Jefferson (East Market) Station sends a train to the airport every 30 minutes. The train is convenient, speedy, and cheap ($8 from PHL, $7 return). Finally, it would have been helpful to know that the photos on Google maps, while reasonably accurate, make the neighborhood appear a bit undesirable. Actually, the neighborhood is just fine and there's a terrific upscale grocery/deli on the corner. Also a kosher deli next door. Yum to both.

Yes, you guessed it. All of us would stay here again.
