Rocky Mountain National Park House Rental Photos and Description

House, 4 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

Situated on 1 acre facing the magnificent Longs Peak and the dominating peaks of the Mummy Range, our home will embrace you with space without losing the cozy feeling of a mountain retreat. There are three focal areas for you to spend your time depending on your mood. The main floor consists of a vaulted ceiling pine-paneled moss rock fireplace family room with skylights (one that opens for fresh air) that accommodates a lazy evening or cool day daydreaming about what the rest of the world is doing. Three bedrooms flank this room: the fishing bedroom, the cottage bedroom and the blue bedroom with the upstairs bathroom with an old-fashioned claw foot bathtub for soaking aching hiking muscles. Climbing four stairs brings you into the large great room consisting of a dining room, small bay window table for games and quick snacks, tv and sitting area. Continuing through the sliding glass door puts you on the front deck that provides plenty of sun and views of the magnificent Rockies (one of the best views of Longs Peak), wild life and fresh pine air. Going down the stairs will bring you to the open walk-out basement that consists of a sitting area, a king-sized bed, a double bed, laundry room and bathroom with a shower. All of this provides enough space for everyone to either be together or to do your own thing.

About The Owner

This property has been in our family for over 55 years. It has been an on-going labor of love to remodel and expand to meet our family’s needs. We love to come and just ‘veg’, forgetting about phones and the outside world for a time to recharge our batteries. With the downtown for shopping excursions and the park so close for hiking, we never lack for things to do when we are in the mood. I, for one, love to sit by the fire in the evening and enjoy the quiet sounds of the wind blowing through the pines.

The Owner purchased this house in 1955

Why The Owner chose Rocky Mountain National Park

Estes Park has been a relaxing getaway spot for over 130 years because it is the closest access to the Rockies from Denver without having to travel freeways and fighting traffic. It has been great for our family because of it's locale and convenience and providing a place for us to enjoy the mountains and the fresh pine air.

What makes this house unique

Our location is between downtown Estes and Rocky Mountain National Park which makes it convenient to either enjoy shopping or hiking. We are remote enough from downtown that you still can feel secluded from all of the other visitors to Estes.

Wonderful cabin

  • 5 of 5

My family spend one week staying in this wonderful cabin. It's really more of a four bedroom 2 bath house. It is an older home, so comfortable and cozy, kind of reminds you of staying at grandma's house growing up. The cabin was very clean and orderly upon our arrival. There were 5 members in our family so everyone had their on bedroom. We loved all the space this cabin offers for everyone to spread out. The cabin is very well stock for a pleasant stay. You can tell this cabin is loved by the owner family. We saw elk and mule deer on several occasions in the yard and surrounding areas. We liked the convenient location of the cabin next to the Beaver Meadows entrance RMNP. You can see the park entrance from the cabin deck.

We used this as home base for all our week's activities which included, drives and hikes in the park, horseback trail rides, rafting trip, downtown shopping, Stanley Hotel tour, trip to Boulder, etc.

We would certainly recommend this to others and stay here again ourselves. The owner family was very pleasant to work with. I would challenge anyone to find this much square footage for the money in Estes Park. Many people pay more and stay in a smaller sterile condo but we certainly enjoyed the quaint charm of this cabin.

Had a good time but had a wi-fi problem.

  • 4 of 5

We have stayed in your house two years in a row. Love the location and the house. Had a wonderful time. Really like the fireplace. We did have a lot of trouble with the wireless wi-fi system. Had a problem accessing the internet and maintaining a connection. (Quite frustrating!)

Still plan to come back, possibly next year, depending on what plans we make.

Thank You!

Spacious Comfortable Home - Great Location

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at this roomy comfortable home. Well stocked kitchen and huge dinning area. We invited friends up from Boulder for dinner and it was ideal. Enjoyed coffee on the deck with a beautiful view of Long's Peak and hearing the elk bugling in the area [it was breeding season]. Spent lots of time in RMNP hiking and enjoying the beautiful scenery and views. Ideal for large family gatherings. Close to Estes Park for dinning out and shopping, if that's what you enjoy. Would recommend this property to friends as a great getaway for peace and quiet and we didn't see any neighbors during our visit. We had a little trouble finding Hummingbird Ln as the street signs were very rustic and there was no mention of turning on Chicadee to get to Hummingbird. But once we found the property all was as posted on the site and we settled right in. It was like our home away from home. Thanks

Close to town and RMNP

  • 4 of 5

We had an enjoyable stay in this home for a mini family reunion. There were 6 adults and 2 children and there was room for everyone. The dining room table is perfect as is the gathering space in the living room. We could all sit comfortably and chat. The home is just as described, the kitchen well stocked, and lots of parking space. Thank you so much for having a place where we could all gather together and relax in the beautiful Estes Park area.

Wonderful home

  • 5 of 5

We have visited Estes 14 out of the last 17 years and this was, by far, the most inviting, comfortable place we have stayed. Clearly, this is a family's beloved getaway and you get the feeling that many good times have been had at the home when you walk in the door. I felt like we were staying in a friend's home. The location of the property is perfect. Just minutes from town and from RMNP. The kitchen had more than everything you need. So nice to have plenty of everything, including spices! Thank you so much for opening up your special place to renters. I hope we will be able to stay with you on our next trip out to Estes.

Excellent Location

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay at this home. The house was clean, spacious and close to everything. You really can't beat being only 5 minutes to the entrance of the park and to downtown Estes Park. The pictures accurately reflect the appearance of the property. We saw elk several days right outside the front porch. Also saw several mule deer right out back one morning while going to breakfast.
