Great Apartment in a Great Location

  • 5 of 5

I stayed in Paola's 1 br apartment with my wife and two young children over a week and a half in the summertime. The apartment was clean and well stocked, in particular with all of the kitchen supplies you might need to make and eat meals. Over the 9 days, we ate breakfast in the unit daily and had no issues preparing several dinners as well. The courtyard was delightful for meals and was well shaded by the time dinner rolled around, which was a welcome respite from the heat.

The bed was huge and comfortable, although I must say that the fold-out sofabed was the best I have ever used. I think I actually preferred sleeping on it to the bed. Paola - let me know where you got it, I might want a similar model for my own home!

The AC kept the unit comfortable even as the outside temperatures climbed into the mid-30s. The laundry machine was easy to use and super useful with a 5-year-old and 2-year-old. The unit was even stocked with several up-to-date travel books (Rick Steves, I believe) for exploring Rome and Italy.

The location was amazing - you can see the colosseum from the front door of the building and walk there in a little over 5 minutes. We walked everywhere we went in Rome and it felt like none of the major attractions (except the Vatican) were more than a 45 minute walk away. There's even a grocery store on Via Cavour just a few minutes away for fridge-stocking. The Pizza place next door was perfect for late night quick-eats and Fata Morgana (our favourite gelato place we could find) was just a few minutes away.

I would have no hesitation recommending this place for a couple or a family with a couple of small children. It was a great home base from which to discover Rome!

Quiet renovated 1-BR apt 2 blocks from Colosseum

  • 5 of 5

Great gem of an apartment! Only one flight of stairs leads to a very quiet apartment that is newly renovated. Fully equipped kitchen (we ate out) with a a table and a small, private, interior courtyard. The bed is comfy (although a little firm for my wife); A/C works great and the WIFI is fast! Only 2 blocks from the Colosseum and 2 blocks from Cavour metro station (blue line B). Also a small piazza with a fountain where all the locals congregate and drink and talk. FABULOUS gelato stand 50 feet (20 meters) away with about 50 delicious flavors. Paola was very helpful and emailed us several times during our week-long stay to give us restaurant tips. Only slight setback is its separated from the center of the sights (Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona).

Highly recommend going to the Trastevere section on the other side of the river and eating there!

quiet 1 bedroom apt perfect location in Monti

  • 5 of 5

We stay with Paola when we are in Rome, and have enjoyed 2 of her apartments. She also lives in the building. This 1 bed room is on a higher floor, and tho it has a nice window over the street, it's a bit quieter, with a very nice separate bedroom. Again, the use of a washing machine is very helpful, and the small kitchen area is fine for light cooking. Paola is gracious and helpful. The location is perfect - you can walk anywhere in the historical district, from the Colosseum to the Forum to Piazza Navona, etc., but the subway is also very close, as well as the electric bus. The location has bakeries, butchers, vegetable stands, and great restaurants, and a fabulous ambience. If it is available, we suggest you contact her quickly!

Excelente Departamento

  • 5 of 5
