Leigh and I have named our vacation condominium 'ALMOST HEAVEN'....because it is. Please come and enjoy 'ALMOST HEAVEN' just like we do.
ALMOST HEAVEN is a 1st floor 2 bedroom/2 bath vacation condominium and is located across the parking lot from the Eagle lift in the Snowcrest building. Next door, in the Soaring Eagle Building (see map below), is the only 5 star restaurant (and our favorite) at Snowshoe. The nicest take out shop (gourmet by the way), is next in the same building. In the Top of the World building (see map below) is everything you need to begin your vacation; ticket sales desk, ski shop/ski rental, resort information desk etc. Hoots Bar and Grill is in this building as well. If you wish to tour the resort, the “Free Shuttle” stops at the Snowcrest door and in front of the Soaring Eagle Lift every 15 minutes.
ALMOST HEAVEN'S 2 bedroom layout will sleep 6 adults comfortably, or 4 adults plus 2-4 children. The master bedroom has a queen sized bed with an en-suite enhanced bath including a hair dryer and 1 X 5 wall mounted mirror. The 2nd bath is identically equipped. The 2nd bedroom has a queen size bed. We have a wet bar, fireplace, patio and fully equipped kitchen for you to enjoy.
ALMOST HEAVEN is located on the first floor, and the balcony offers a picturesque view(?) of the WV mountains to the north. ALMOST HEAVEN opens to a large atrium courtyard. The building has indoor hot tubs, game room, fireplace, lounge, numerous sitting areas, and laundry facilities. The parking lot is private, open only to owners and their guests.
The building looks fantastic! This is a quiet building with on site security that will afford you the vacation you deserve. If you want to stay connected, there is complimentary high-speed wireless internet access and a land line that is free for all calls. AT&T is the only cell service available.
After the best day of skiing east of the Mississippi, return to ALMOST HEAVEN and cuddle up in front of the electric fireplace. If you’re not done yet, ride the “Free Shuttle” to the Village which has a great selection of restaurants and entertainment. If you have children, take the family to the Big Top and enjoy a variety of activities from Rock Climbing to watching a movie. If you prefer you, can prepare dinner in our gourmet equipped kitchen, and watch a DVD or movie on the cable TV. Another option is to walk to the Market Place next door, which offers gourmet meals to bring back to ALMOST HEAVEN.
Renting ALMOST HEAVEN is an easy process that can be handled entirely over the internet. We accept PayPal or credit cards (we never need to have your credit card number - you enter it on a secure payment website). There is no mailing of keys, the door has an electronic lock. Once your vacation begins, you have access to an on-site owner's representative to assist you or address any questions that might arise.

My name is Allen Walker, Jr and my wife is Leigh. We are a young retired couple living in Salem, Va. Snowshoe is about 2 hrs, 45min from Salem and we enjoy the resort atmosphere. The restaurants and shops are a lot of fun, not to mention the skiing, fly fishing, golf in the warmer months and all sorts of other outdoor activities. Please come visit Snowshoe any time of the year and stay with us.

This building, Snowcrest, has no commercial activity. It is strictly residential. This, together with excellent building management and security, make it the ideal vacation condominium. All of the facilities for winter sports are next door in the Soaring Eagle building. This means we have all of the peace and quiet of Snowcrest with the convenience of the facilities at Soaring Eagle. The 'Free Shuttle' stops at the door every 15 mins. It's perfect!
My family of 5 was very comfortable in this condo. We had stayed in another condo in the same complex last year, but this condo was much more comfortable, from the mattress on the sleeper sofa to the hot water that didn't run out, to the well stocked kitchen and mattresses on the beds. This condo is conveniently located near the hot tub, condo entrance and the shuttle stop as well. The owner went out of his way to answer questions and be helpful--he even gave us an extra night free when we had no snow the first day we arrived, as he had no tenants scheduled for the day we planned to leave, so we were able to use the third day of our ski passes without having to check out early. We will choose to stay here again when we come back to Snowshoe! Alan was such a fabulous host, we felt like we were staying at a friend's house.
For a relatively short notice rental, we were very pleased with the accommodations. The place is clean, well kept and the location is pretty perfect on the mountain. We comfortably slept 6 in the condo and had plenty of room for all of our gear. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware which made it easy to cook for our group. All in all this is a great place for the price point and we will definitely be back!
This was a great property. Extremely clean and well maintained. The building manger and her husband were great as we had 2 plus feet of snow fall while we were there. They were helpful getting cars plowed out and road information. Would stay here again for sure!
We enjoyed our stay. The condo was clean and ready to go. No complaints there. It smelled a little musty. Not sure what can be done....maybe air fresheners. The building is one of the oldest at Snowshoe and is outdated as is the condo interior but gain, it served its purpose and was clean. Having Wifi was nice considering that there is still no cell sevice on the mountain unless you happen to have AT&T service.
If I had to suggest any improvement, I would say replace the mattress in the rear bedroom (master
). Not sure about the other bed since I didn't sleep in it.

Everything is as described. We had a wonderful stay and the convenience of the bus coming by this place was awesome. I was a little worried with it being on the south mountain, but you can walk into the slopes or catch the bus to silver creek with almost no wait. Hot tub was right outside our door! Thanks for a great stay!
We rented the condo to stay close to friends renting a house at Sawmill. The condo had everything we needed. We cooked breakfast and lunch there each day with the fully equipped kitchen. We never ran out of hot water and we had plenty of room for the 4 of us. The condo is a 5 minute walk to the Soaring Eagle lift and the shuttle is quite convenient which we used to go to into the Village and also to ski at Silver Creek. We really enjoyed staying here and would stay here again!
