House, 2 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-6)

Our luxurious beachfront home is the ideal place to relax and get away from it all! Built in 2010 for the sophisticated traveler, you could spend your days on one of the most beautiful deserted beaches in the world or opt for adventures that range from world-class scuba diving to exploring Mayan ruins to tubing through underground rivers to one of the many exciting activities Belize has to offer. Let our concierge do all the planning and booking for you!

This brand-new home is beautifully decorated and includes unique local art pieces to add to your enjoyment. Mahogany wood cabinets, doors, funiture and accents combined with marble floors and granite countertops add to the luxurious ambiance. Of course, a flat-screen HDTV and DVD player, cable TV, iPod docks, wireless internet, as well as reading and DVD libraries mean you can relax as much as you desire.

A fully-equipped kitchen and nearby grocery stores give you the option of cooking whenever you wish. However, you are within walking distance of several excellent restaurants that overlook the ocean. Try walking along the beach to and from your destination to fully immerse yourself in the relaxing and idyllic atmosphere of Belize. Another option would be to let our concierge hire a cook to prepare meals in your own kitchen--a great way to sample some of the mouthwatering cultural dishes of the Garifuna region.

In addition to the comforts and amenities of the home itself, the rooftop patio offers another option for sunning and enjoying the ocean breezes during the day. After dinner, why not retire to the rooftop to relax and be amazed by the millions of stars that grace the skies over the Caribbean?

Your private beach awaits the ultimate, relaxing get-away!

About Maria Miller

Our family has been coming to Belize for ten years. It is now our most frequent vacation destination.

Maria Miller purchased this house in 2010

Why Maria Miller chose Belize

We fell in love with the tranquil, get-away-from-it-all atmosphere, the beauty of the pristine beaches, and the friendly people of Hopkins Village. We know you will fall in love with it, too!

What makes this house unique

What we like most about our home is simply relaxing on a quiet, secluded beach with the sun warming us and the crystal waves and ocean breezes cooling our tanned bodies. There is plenty to do and great places to eat!

Guestbook comments from the owner

From our guestbook: We've had a wonderful week! Hopkins and this house were great spots to celebrate Kathy's birthday and a great base for experiencing this beautiful part of Belize. Kathy actually thought we were tent camping on the beach so was completely surprised and amazed when we walked into the house! We enjoyed long paddles on the ocean and river, hiking in Cockscomb and Mayflower parks, snorkeling out on the reef, biking around town, hanging out with the drummers at Lebeha, and sampling some of the excellent Hopkins cuisine.

Thanks to Maria and Chris for sharing your lovely home, and to Janette and the whole team who maintain and safeguard this beautiful property. Special thanks to the spectacular wildlife. Particular favorites were the dolphins, and reef fish, the orange iguanas along the river, toucans and the fantastic variety of other bird species we encountered...and, of course, Chunko and Cash!

We arrived 2 days late after surviving Hurricane Earl inland near Belmopan! We arrived to what was our relaxation portion of our trip. We were in Belize a total of two weeks, and could not have chosen a better place to stay.

The grounds had been cleaned up, the house was spotless, and we could not have been more pleased. You can walk out in the ocean for quite a bit and still stand up. Waters were a little murky after the hurricane when we arrived but soon cleared up to a crystal clear blue view! The house itself is in perfect condition, with anything and more than what one needs for a beach vacation.

Communication with Janette and Maria were great. If we needed anything, they were easy to contact and arrange anything for us.

We enjoyed the solitude of the beach the most and put the chairs and hammock to good use.

Security patrolling at night was a bonus, although we felt safe at any given time.

EVERYONE in Belize was nice and friendly.

This was my first trip to a beach in 3 years and could not have chosen a better place.

Thanks again to everyone!!!

Paradise for the Family!!

  • 5 of 5

Everything from owner communication to the property and the location was five stars! The photos online don't do the place justice. We rented a car in Belize City and drove to Hopkins - make the trip in the daylight (we didn't!). The house is just far enough away from town to feel like you have a private beach, but close enough that you are in the middle of all the fun in minutes. The full kitchen is perfect, but if you want to grill steaks, chicken or seafood, bring some in dry-ice from the US (not much in terms of fresh meats and seafood in the markets). The kids spent hours each day in the water, snorkeling and jumping off the pier. Eating on the covered pagoda at the end of the private pier was a favorite for everyone.

The owner was out of the country when we were there, but very attentive and responsive via email. We've used VRBO many times before, but this was by far everyone's favorite. What a gem this property is!

Things to do while you are there?

-Tina's Kitchen for a traditional meal.

-"Hopkins Kulcha Tours" (Charlton is an amazing guide - we went to Mayan Ruins, St. Herman's Cave and Blue Hole Park).

-Waterfalls, hiking and diving in the jungle/mountains around Hopkins (30 minutes away)

-Thongs Cafe for Breakfast (amazing juices and smoothies!)

-Sit, relax and enjoy!!!!

"UnBelizeable" Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I have rented many vacation homes over the past 20 years in different tropical locations and have never found a home that has resonated as much as Chris and Maria’s home. Our time in Hopkins Belize was an experience of a life time. We have never been to Central America and would not have thought of it as a vacation destination that would exceed our expectations. The house was incredible and its location is perfect. So close to the beach and the water was like taking a warm bath. We spent numerous hours on the beach and in the water just soaking in the serenity and letting go of the stress of our busy lives. I must give Janette a huge shout out for all of her help during our stay there. She is the epitome of what a host should be! Janette also runs her own business there in town and if you want to to do diving I would highly recommend her. Janette set us up with two golf carts that she rents out and would highly encourage you to rent them to use while you’re in Hopkins. (Forget a rental car, don’t need it) We had some small requests prior to our arrival for meals and she was able to fulfill our needs. She set us up with transportation from Dangriga airport, she also set us up for two of our excursions (Monkey River tour and the Mayan Ruins) we had our own private tour guide and transportation. Mr. Ariola who picked us up from the airport was the same person that gave us the tours. What an incredible man, full of life, knowledge and a deep love for his country. I highly recommend that you have Janette set you up with him for many of your inland excursions. You are in a private van and the prices are extremely competitive plus you get the personal touch. He will pick you up at the house. The lunches he provided where incredible, at the Monkey river tour we had lunch at a private residence and had the best chicken and rice cooked Belizean style. The local grocery store in Hopkins will have much of your basic needs, remember this is not the US so don’t have high expectations but be creative and flexible. The Belekin beer is very good almost tastes like Budweiser and you can get Heineken. You can also get some of the same wine that you would in the US at the local grocery store. We BBQ chicken, hamburger and steaks (Janette hooked us up with the steaks and hamburger meat) at the house on the grill. Charcoal and lighter fluid is available at the local grocery store. The house provides everything you need, there are beach towels there so don

Great destination for the adventure seeker

  • 5 of 5

What a great vacation destination. This house is well equipped for a quite beach vacation but the activities in Belize are world class. Diving, caving, zip lining etc you can spend hours laying in the hammock on the beach or traveling the country side to your next adventure. Easy to get to from the U.S. the people are warm and inviting. We had a great time and would recommend it to anyone looking for perfect weather and surroundings

Excellent beach house

  • 5 of 5

This is the second year in a row that we have rented this beach house. The house is fantastic and has everything you need - games, movies, books, bicycles, beach chairs, kayak, snorkle gear. It is set up great. This year, in addition to my husband and two kids, we also brought my in laws along. It was perfect. We spent countless hours snorkling, kayaking, even got to swim with a manatee. The property manager, Janette, was more than helpful during our stay. There is so much to do close to the house - there is snorkling right in front of your backyard, hiking through the jungle and seeing waterfalls, zip lining, Mayan ruins, you can go on all sorts of tours such as night dives, cave tubing, scuba diving and more! The only warning I have, and it has nothing to do with the house, is make sure to bring sufficient cash on your trip. There is one ATM in town and it rarely works. Places do accept credit cards but the machine does not always work. The Miller home has become a tradition of ours for spring break that I am confident will continue for many years to come.

Hidden Gem

  • 4 of 5

We all loved our relaxing time at this villa in Hopkins. People were friendly and the restaurants were as good as anywhere in the world! We especially loved--LOVE ON The ROCKS where you cook your meal on very hot stones, Rob's next door---don't remember the full name and for lunch-- way in the north part of Hopkins---Driftwood---for pizza and drinks. Also---I was surprised at the lack of bugs. With all doors open--we saw almost none. We enjoyed a walk to a waterfall at a nearby preserve.
