What makes this cabin unique

Why Dandridge in the hills of East Tennessee? For starters, Dandridge is a remarkably quaint town and historical treasure. It is the second oldest established town (since 1783) in Tennessee and was named after Martha Dandridge Washington, the wife of the United States’ first president, George Washington. Some of the earliest businesses in the town were taverns and catered to traveling businessmen and tourists. Additionally, Dandridge holds ties to the Civil War and the great frontiersman Davy Crockett. But, beyond its rich history, Dandridge is an inviting town with rolling hills, mountains, great lakes, domestic farms, wildlife and all four of the changing seasons. It is also minutes away from area attractions such as the famous DollyWood theme park, dinner theaters, and historic hiking trails. Last, but not least, Dandridge provides ample opportunity for hunting, fishing, boating and shopping.

Because of all this and more, we fell so much in love with the town of Dandridge that we decided to purchase our very own log cabin complete with majestic views of English Mountain and Dandridge Lake. Remodeled in 2007 from a small farm house to a large-scale oasis, Sandy Ridge Cabin is an unique home. It comes with upstairs and downstairs fireplaces, modern amenities such as flat screen TVs, a theater room with Bose surround sound, and high speed internet, and is decorated with just the right touch of sophistication and country charm. In fact, it’s just too good to keep it all to ourselves. Let Sandy Ridge Cabin be your home away from home, too. Whether you’re simply looking for a comfortable place to crash with the kids after a hard day’s work at Dollywood or just a paradise of rest and relaxation, Sandy Ridge Cabin will undoubtedly meet your every need! It is warm and comfortable, cozy and familiar. So, come on in. Welcome home!

Guestbook comments from the manager

The cabin was perfect! It is close enough to Pigeon Forge for shopping and a short drive for me and the guys to take a hike in the Smokies up Alum Cave Trail to Mt. LeConte for some camping and backpacking. The mountains in front of the house were covered in snow, and the ladies were able to see where we were on Mt. LeConte from the front porch even though we were at over 6000 feet elevation. There are enough restaurants close by for any taste-BBQ, Chinese, Japanese, and some great burgers. The theatre room, plasmas, and fire pit sealed the deal for me while my girlfriend loved the dining area, kitchen, and master bath. :) We had a great time! I can't wait for our next trip up to enjoy some lake fun and good times on that front porch. Thank you Knights! Jason R.

Absolutely beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

I just want to start by thanking both Ruben and Marteena for sharing their home with us. They both were so helpful through the process. The home is gorgeous, the view is beautiful and the neighbors and their animals are amazing. We absolutely loved staying the week there. Wish we could of stayed longer. We definitely plan on booking again!

Beautiful home and peaceful stay.

  • 4 of 5

When we arrived, we were blown away by the property. It is not only gorgeous, but even bigger than it looks in the images. Everything was arranged nicely and decorated on point. The rooms were spacious and provided adequate storage for all the supplies we brought (even with a family of nine). Additionallly, the kitchen was stocked with tools, easy to navigate, and very organized. The pool tables, karaoke, and Golden Tee golf game provided lots of entertainment!

We loved the views from the porch as well as the easy access to nearby swimming holes. While many of the bigger name restaurants were a bit if a drive, we enjoyed some local flavor in downtown Dandridge. We even enjoyed a local festival.

The owners were in contact with us within hours of arriving and were very pleasant to work with. There were a few minor issues with the home during our stay, but nothing that would prevent us from coming back. Each issue was handled by the owner with the utmost respect. I have dealt with a few owners before and these owners are by far the most pleasant and helpful to date. They truly want each rental experience to be perfect.

You will be very happy with this rental, it is a home away from home ...but better! We loved it.

Great View, Clean/Modern Cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We really loved our stay here. The cabin has a great porch with an amazing view. Everything in the cabin was updated, modern and nice. It was also well organized so we didn't have any questions on where things were and where to find things. Additionally, Ruben was very responsive for a questions I did have.

There is a boat rental place 5 minutes away (H20 Sports) and Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are probably 30 minutes away. Grocery and gas station are within 10 minutes. The only downside was the hike we picked was an hour away, not sure if there were any closer, but we also wanted to go on tough Smoky Mountains hike.

November getaway-Sandy Ridge

  • 5 of 5

My family really enjoyed our stay at the Sandy Ridge cabin. The view was fantastic, we enjoyed the area and it was only a short drive to all the attractions and shopping areas we wanted to visit. The cabin was better than we expected, extremely well kept and clean. It fit our needs perfectly. Our grandkids really enjoyed the neighbors donkeys, , cows, and goats too. We look forward to returning, hopefully next year.

Wonderful !!!

  • 5 of 5

My family absolutely loved our stay at the cabin. It is such a beautiful area and our 3 grandchildren especially had a great time. The primary issues we encountered were problems with on-line access and TV reception. The TV in the dining area did not work and it looks like there is a damaged connection. The TV in the living room area worked for a couple of days and then we could not get it to connect at all. We could never get the Bose system in the lower level area to function. We believe most of the TV issues are related to the router. We were not able to get hot water in the basement bathroom. We did not notice the Food City card on the key ring until after we purchased a lot of groceries there. After the first use, we did use it to get a discount each time. The instruction letter we received did not specify the security key pad location as it is not immediately inside the front door. We were searching for it and the alarm activated before we actually found it. The neighbors at the farm next door were very friendly and helpful. They took the time to show their animals to the grandkids, helped us with the router and brought us things.

We went to Dollywood, the Dixie Stampede, hiking in Smoky Mountains National Park and to Gatlinburg. We highly recommend the Pancake Pantry in Gatlinburg. Our grandchildren said they preferred this vacation to the one we had at Disneyworld last year.

Overall, the issues mentioned above are minor and we highly recommend this cabin.
