|Minimum Stay||2 nights|
This hilltop brick home features a fantastic front porch with rocking chairs & spectacular lake views. Our ranch style, one-story property is handicap accessible and the open gourmet kitchen offers the best view in the house. The warm living area with mounted plasma tv and fireplace is the perfect respite for family and friends. The spacious master suite, office (free wi-fi) and laundry are located on one side of the house, with 2 guest rooms and bath located on the other. There are porches on the front and the back of the house and plenty of parking.
We are located inside a gated, golf course community and the home is directly across from a private park with a playground, basketball court, picnic tables and boat launching facilities. Our lakefront restaurant, The Gnarly Gar, is a golf cart ride and is open during the summer with live music on weekends. There is a fitness center, 9-hole golf course, tennis courts & Olympic size swimming pool. Something for all!
Activities by Water and Land: Don't have a boat? Rent one, or better yet, a jet ski and get out on the water to enjoy the best of Lake Travis. Need a change of pace or maybe you just like to stay dry? Bring your fishing pole, golf clubs, tennis racquet or sense of adventure and never leave land.
Your workout routine needn't suffer either, with the pool and workout room accessible to our guests.
Wining and Dining: Many guests prefer to hit the grocery store once and cookout with their families. But for those of you who like to explore the other options, there are some good ones from which to choose.
By land: Back up the hill in Lago Vista is Maria's Mexican Cantina (delicious), J&J's BBQ, Wok n' Grill and our favorite - Parrain's Louisiana Kitchen for true Cajun cuisine. About 20 minutes toward Marble Falls is the beautiful Flat Creek Estate Winery that serves lunch/brunch Friday through Sunday from 11-4 and features a 3- course paired menu for somewhere in the vicinity of $50 per person. Delicious. If you love live music, Rumi's Tavern in Jonestown is sure to delight… will definitely have the game on and you can even shoot a round of pool. Fun, local flavor.
This is one of two family-owned properties - not only in Point Venture, but on the SAME street. We really love this area and know it is a great place for all kinds of travelers. Several years ago we decided to add our home to the vacation rental pool part-time and it's worked out really well for us and our very happy renters.
Rachel purchased this house in 2010
This unique, one-story traditional sits atop a hill and when I saw the rocking chairs out front, perfectly positioned to take in the sunset, I knew it was special. There are many unique touches throughout; the home really appealed to my love for design and turning each room into it's own inviting space was right up my alley.
Front and back porches mean that no matter where the sun is shining down, you can comfortably enjoy lounging outside. Cook a spectacular meal in the gourmet kitchen or out on the grill steps away on the patio. With the master suite on one end of the home, guests can enjoy privacy while the others are right down the hall. We've had nothing but happy customers and strive to make sure we keep that stellar reputation and a special place to stay again and again.
We had such a fun weekend with childhood friends. Perfect house for our group. Thanks again!
Clean home filled with everything you need for a lake getaway. We loved it all including its ample parking for a boat (nice circle drive) and a short distance to Arkansas Bend (lake access).
I saw on other reviews that there's access to rent golf carts, but couldn't find info on that. Theyre dog friendly, which is awesome, but there isn't a fenced in yard. That wasn't a problem for ours, but FYI for dogs that run away. Otherwise great spot!
We've rented quite a few homes in our time and this has to be our favorite. The neighborhood, the views and the locals are second to none. The family has decided that this place will be at the top of the list Everytime we think about vacationing. The house has everything and I mean everything you need to enjoy your stay. Thank you for all, from all.
Our family rents homes with VRBO/Homeaway often. We're up to seventeen stays. It is with that user experience this review is being written. WHAT'S GOOD ABOUT THIS RENTAL: We were in this rental for four nights.
The home is a nice size, nicely furnished. Stocked well with kitchen utensils, dishes, staples, and bathroom toiletry items. There is a golf cart available for renters to ride to the community pool, workout room or private beach. We used all three, and loved them. The pool is a junior Olympic size, and is in a gorgeous setting. And so fun to have a private beach area! There are deer all over the community at all times of day, and we saw as many as 6, 8, 11 in various yards. Early in the morning a neighbor feeding the deer had 30 in her yard which we got to see while on a morning walk. We absolutely loved the neighborhood! Talked to a lot of neighbors, and all were friendly. There are wonderful rocking chairs on the front porch, and it is very peaceful sitting there. You are able to see a bit of the lake from the front porch, although trees and a large house across the street block most of the view. This house is not waterfront, but the little view is still nice. We also ate at the Gnarly Gar restaurant one evening and it was fantastic..great food, waiter, and nice sitting on the water.
NOW the part I shouldn't have to mention in a great rental. WHAT'S NOT UP TO PAR IN THIS RENTAL: The master bed linens had been badly mangled by a dog...one corner of the bedspread had a chewed out six-inch square area, and a gaping 3-inch round hole. One of the pillowcases had four imprints of a dogs mouth/teeth. Dust/hair behind bed. The bedside lamp was dusty even on the sides. In the second bedroom, the queen bedspread had rather large bloodstains on the underside, and some bloodstains on the sheets. We pulled the sheets up to make sure it wasn't from bedbugs. We didn't see bedbugs, but we saw dark specks of what seemed to be some other bug. There were also shards of glass along the baseboard at the head of the bed. Our 21year old daughter was grossed out and slept on the sofa. The outdoor grill igniter didn't work and had to be lit using matches, and the burners were badly corroded. Inside, the gas stove had issues with one of the burners that wouldn't ignite and the knob wouldn't turn the gas off. Lastly, the owner/manager didn't respond to an email question we submitted seven days before arrival until 11 am on arrival day.
Nice house and everything was easy and accessible
The property was great. House is very nice. Very well equipped with all that is necessary and then some.
Great furnishings, very clean and inviting. The front porch and back patio are relaxing. Loved the place.
Point Venture Resort is located on the North Shore of Lake Travis, approximately 30 minutes from Northwest Austin and 45 minutes from ABIA. The property is roughly 40 miles from Marble Falls and near a beautiful destination winery, Flat Creek Estate. The community resides on a peninsula jutting out into Lake Travis and by water is not far from popular lake locations like Rough Hollow Marina (and the Grille at Rough Hollow), The Lakeway Inn & Spa and the Reserve. Right up the road in Jonestown we have terrific live music at Rumi's Tavern and unbelievable Cajun cuisine at Parrain's Louisiana Kitchen. There is a gated park with dual boat launches 8 houses down from the property.
