At the end of the long driveway find this spacious expanded cape, nestled on almost two wooded acres of land. Large comfortable rooms make this home perfect for family vacations and provide spaces for everyone. Privacy abounds as you relax on the wrap around deck or gather in the light filled Great Room featuring cathedral ceiling and flat screen tv. Walk through the large fireplaced living room to the fully equipped kitchen. A separate dining area seats 12. At the end of the day, use the outside shower, play volleyball or badminton or relax or barbecue on the deck. Retire to the two first floor bedrooms, including a master with private bath, three second floor bedrooms, including a master with private bath, or the connected oversized private carriage room over the two car garage at the far end of the house which includes a king and two twin beds, sitting area with TV, private upper deck and seperate full bath. The house has washer/dryer and Wi-Fi as well. A great place to enjoy a classic cape experience.
I just wanted to let you know how much we all enjoyed staying in the house! As you described on the phone, it was absolutely perfect for all three families with plenty of space to spare! The house was absolutely spotless when we got in and all of us were amazed at how well “stocked” it was with towels, kitchen supplies, appliances, etc. We were even so grateful to find flashlights in the hall closet since we lost power for a brief time during Friday of our stay (tropical storm Arthur?)
The fact that the house was set back from the road was perfect for the two toddlers staying with us and we so appreciated the beach chairs/toys, etc.
Thanks again for a wonderful time with many memories made. We would absolutely be interested in renting there again.
The house was perfect for our over 50 girls week. We filled the rooms with lots of space for mealtime, sun time on the spacious deck, catch up time in the living room, walk to beach. The owners were very accommodating. So much Cape fun we couldn't fit everything in. Great restaurants abound.
We've stayed there the last 9 summers and plan on #10 next year. House is very clean and updated. So many things to love about this place. It is set far in off the road, so no worries about small children running into the street. Dining area seats 12, which makes it so easy at mealtime. The house is so large and spread out, that even with a large group, it is possible to get some quiet time. Not unusual to see a group on front lawn, wrap-around deck, living room, great room, or dining area. The living room and great room are both large rooms and are at opposite ends of house. This might be one of the best features of the house...... great for diverse ages/groups. The carriage house is huge and offers privacy.....great for someone with a small infant. It is a very welcoming and relaxing house.
The house was absolutely perfect for our family grouping, we actually had an empty bedroom left over. The family with the youngsters stayed above the garage, that worked perfectly, especially in the later evenings. One night we had guests and used all 14 seats at the dining room table, great fun and great party. My only complaint was the floors were dirty, gritty, sandy, and had not been swept by the previous guests. There were shards of broken glass under and around the refrigerator. I am sure we left the house in better condition than when we arrived. Other than a broom, it would help to have a better vacuum device around to suck up sand and to clean the floors. Maybe a Shark type vacuum with a canister that can be quickly emptied. Otherwise, we loved the location, the privacy, and accommodations of the house, great family vacation.
This Classic expanded Cape house 1/2 mile from Corporation Beach with 5 bdrms/5baths sleeps up to 15 in beds - not futons or pull out couches. Both Corporation and Mayflower beaches are very kid friendly and nearby. You can also walk the historic pathway that winds through the property past the ancient Hall Cemetery to Dennis Village, the Cape Cod Playhouse and the Cape Cod Museum of Art and Theatre Marketplace . Great beaches, restaurants, shopping, golf courses, walking paths, bike trails, fishing, antique and art stores make this the perfect area for your vacation. Dennis is in the center of Cape Cod so all the rest of the cape is a short ride away. Drive to Provincetown or take the ferry from Hyannis to Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket for the day. Situated on a two acre wooded lot, this private home is great for family vacations or family reunions.
Golf: Dennis has two great public golf courses
Dennis Highlands Golf Course
With the success of Dennis Pines and the rising demand for more golf facilities in town, Dennis Highlands was added in 1984. This course is very different from its elder sibling. Michael Hurdzan and Jack Kidwell, designers of the Highlands, came up with a course that is more wide open than Dennis Pines and about 500 yards shorter from the tips. Hurdzan made up for the lack of distance by endowing the Highlands with some extremely tricky greens. Most greens are elevated—with subtle breaks and multiple tiers. Perhaps the most treacherous green on the course is the three-tiered seventh
Dennis Pines Golf Course
In 1966 golf course architect Henry C. Mitchell was hired to design a golf course that would serve two purposes—to provide the residents of Dennis a golfing venue and to entice golf vacationers to the town.
Mitchell’s design stretches to over 7,000 yards from the tips and winds its way through 170 acres of pine-forest. “The Pines,” as it is called by the locals, forces a golfer to be proficient with just about every club in the bag. Holes range in length from the 172-yard 13th hole, the farthest point from the clubhouse, to the 518-yard 12th hole, as tough a par-5 as there is on Cape Cod. The strength of Dennis Pines, however, lies in its par-4 holes that range in length from the 344-yard 16th, which requires a lay-up tee shot, to the demanding 442-yard eighth hole.
