Beautiful cabin. Clean and warm. Accommodated are family of 16. Would definitely stay here again.
We had a large group of 4 families staying in the rental, with 8 children from 1 y.o. to 16 y.o. We wanted to celebrate Christmas together, catch up and ski on Stevens Pass. The property was wonderful, spacious and well equipped, and perfectly met our needs. Stevens Pass ski resort was a 30-40 minutes drive away, based on weather conditions (it was snowing). With 4 bedrooms, an upstairs loft which had a king-size bed and extra single bed, and foldable, quite comfortable futon in a downstairs playroom area, the house had plenty of sleeping spaces. Two foldable bassinets, two high chairs for our toddlers and plenty of cozy play room space downstairs were very useful. We were very impressed with how well decorated the lodge was for the winter holidays, thanks to Nicole's and Brian's thoughtful touch. The tree was superb, our kids had great time unwrapping their presents under it. We arrived in the dark and when we woke up the next morning, the view from the huge main level dining room windows over the river, tall firs and snowy mountains was amazing. We immediately got outside to enjoy snow and fresh air in a spacious back yard overlooking the river. I have nothing negative to say about this accommodation. The holiday rate was quite pricy, the only drawback I guess. I look forward to staying there for a regular weekend rate, for skiing or in summer, it should be great all year round.
This charming house is the perfect combination of rustic and contemporary. All the comforts of the modern world with all the cozy delights of a cabin in the woods. Not to mention an absolutely BREATHTAKING view of the mountains and direct access to the gorgeous Skykomish river. Couldn't be more pleased with our choice.
I know it's a cliche but seriously the pictures don't do this place justice. The house was stunningly beautiful and the view from the main room even better. Nicole was very good communicator and we never had a doubt if something was needed, she'd get back to us quickly. As things were, absolutely everything was perfect!
The other thing that were a pleasant surprise was was the size and location of the firepit. We were a pretty big group and there were plenty of rocks and chairs to go around the fire. We didn't plan for it, but it ended up being the best part of the stay!
I had a great feeling about this place, firstly from the wonderful photos on the website, but mostly through dealing with Nicole. What a wonderful warm person - she genuinely wanted our two families to have the best possible time in her beautiful home. It absolutely didn't disappoint in any way. Lovely and clean, plenty of room, well equipped kitchen and a homely feel. There is no "impersonal rental" feel about this place. The kids loved the den for movies in the evening (when we weren't toasting marsh mallows on the fire pit) and the adults loved sitting on the deck with a glass of wine watching shooting stars and listening to the soothing sounds of the river. The large dining table with stunning views over the river and mountains hosted many convivial meals from the outdoor grill and some extremely competitive card games. We also made good use of the many board games thoughtfully provided by the owners. I saw my first ever bald eagle half an hour after arriving and they were around all week. The kids fished right in front of the house, and for swimming the small community beach is really pleasant.
I believe there is a ton of stuff to do in the area but to be honest we could bearly tear ourselves away from the house - it really had everything we needed. A few trips to the local well stocked store for supplies and one day trip to Leavenworth was all we managed.
My one regret is that I didn't get to meet Nicole - she really is everything you could hope for in an owner. Always available, always helpful. I have been to rentals with a ten page "list of rules" that make you feel like you are imposing on the owners - everything here is common sense and common courtesy for neighbours and future renters. Thank you so much Nicole for providing us with such a happy experience. You have a truly beautiful property.
If your looking for a beautiful setting and a amazing home with the best owners, than this is your place. From cooking hot dogs over a fire pit by a roaring stream to grilling steaks on the deck over looking the backyard, you won't be disappointed. Nicole the owner was all ways a text away if we needed anything. We couldn't have asked for anything more!
