My name is Karen, I am the property manager. My husband Kevin and I are both pilots, who enjoy traveling and meeting new people. We have numerous life time memories of living in the Ernie Ball ranch house. As a former owner of the ranch, I can assure you that you too, will never forget the memories you make in this lovely home.
Karen Eldredge purchased this estate in 2005
If you are seeking peace and quiet, you just found it!
Nestled in the midst of wine country, with only a short drive to downtown SLO. It is our hope that you would enjoy a truly exclusive opportunity to visit the Central Coast.
I love driving through the vineyard, onto the open cattle range. Sometimes you see adorable calves roaming about, other times it may be deer wandering through. There is a creek that winds in between large, beautiful sycamore and oak trees. With wandering limbs; some down to the ground, these trees make a beautiful backdrop for pictures..
There is a baby grand piano, just provide the piano player. There is a pool table in the loft, and a ping pong table in the garage. There a numerous games for your family and friends to play.
You will have complete privacy on the ranch. The open range mile and a half, dead end, dirt road discourages sightseers. Also our road was tagged as one of the prettiest roads to walk in SLO.
On top of the hills of the Ernie Ball ranch, the views are incredible!!!
Come make some lifetime memories of your own!.
I could wax poetic about this place - it was relaxing and beautiful and spacious and airy and sunny and remote and well kept-up and so many little things around the house were just so welcoming and comfortable!!!
Here are some bullet lists because I'm limited on characters:
* Plenty of living/sleeping space
* Good amount of comfortable and clean bedding (pillows, sheets, blankets) provided
* Windows/floors/carpets all freshly cleaned
* Notes on various fixtures and switches to explain what they do
* Meticulous notes for checkout and other info, right by the kitchen door
* Hot tub was clean and heated and ready to go
* Kitchen was WELL stocked (many places lie when they say are well stocked, I'm a real cook and require proper utensils and pots, pans, dishes, etc etc etc)
* Windows and doors sealed up nicely (no draughts or bugs inside)
* Cute frogs all over the place
* Lots of walking/hiking trails around the property
* Comfortable couches and lounge areas
* Plenty of places for a group of 10-16 to gather comfortably
* Plenty of nooks for individuals/couples to hole up alone if desired
* Lots of sunlight, good cross breeze through windows
* Good water pressure and heat (from the well); showers can be taken simultaneously
* Remote enough to be able to play music/movies loudly, or talk/sing in a group outside loudly without disturbing neighbors
* Laundry room was really nice, though we didn't do any laundry
* Appliances/fixtures were (mostly -- see CONS list for stove specifics) in good shape
* Landlord/Owner was very responsive and supportive via phone/email/text all weekend
* Plenty of dining areas
* Awesome gaming loft room
* Fabulous assortment of games
* Wifi provided with easy access points and extenders
* Wifi was terribly slow for Silicon Valley engineer standards hahaha but it's for the best - we were able to disconnect from the internet and connect with each other! ;) Don't expect to be able to stream music or videos on your mobile/laptop.
* Two out of four gas burners on the stove had some issue which I expect will have been fixed by now. Shouldn't be a problem again.
* Dirt/gravel roads leading to the property COULD potentially cause issues for some cars - just drive slowly and carefully!
In all, we really enjoyed our stay at Ernie Ball Ranch! We'd definitely stay there again if we plan another trip to SLO. We built some fantastic memories we'll treasure!
House was very spacious and very relaxing. Kids were not bored at all. Wish we could stay longer. Great place to just get away from it all. Thank you.
Amazing. Beautiful. Warm. Open. Peaceful! We had a wonderful wedding weekend at the Ernie Ball Ranch!! From relaxing Thursday night to Saturdays Brides Breakfast and Sunday post- wedding breakfast, we felt we had the perfect place to be to celebrate our daughters marriage. Even better, it was emotional for is as well as we have guitari enthusiasts in our family as well as builders who appreciated the history and architecture of the place. We will be back!!!!
A bunch of friends and I stayed at this property for a wedding in beautiful SLO. Everyone that stayed there absolutely loved it! The drive up the long windy driveway (watch out for the beautiful horses) provided beautiful views of the surrounding Central California hills. You also pass a vineyard on the first part of the driveway, which reminds you that you are in a special part of the world, Central CA. The house itself is outstanding, sitting two miles off the main road, it is very peaceful and quiet. The rooms are very spacious, with extremely comfortable beds (it's not often you are sad to go home to your own bed!). There is an amazing front patio with a large table where we spent a lot of time just chatting and soaking in our surroundings. The kitchen has everything we needed to make breakfast and lunch, and was big enough for 4-5 grown ups to work in it. The TV/Cable was easy to operate, and there were movies and a pool table for entertainment. I think this place is perfect for groups of 6-10 as there are 3 queen/king beds in the house. There is also a casita adjacent to the house for those who prefer a little more privacy. Karen was super helpful with instructions and getting back to us when we had requests. If in the area again, I would definitely consider staying at this place again.
We had a wonderful stay with our family of 9 + babies in this comfy ranch home. The home was clean and well-maintained and had lots of character. The rooms are very large so it was a great place for our family gatherings. The kitchen is very well stocked with everything you could possibly need. Our family really enjoyed eating outside on the patio overlooking the rolling hills and the grandkids liked spotting cows nearby! Our family went for some nice hikes and runs right from the house.
My favorite thing about this place is that it is so remote (yes, you do travel a dirt road to get there:) and, yet, you are 10 min. from a major grocery store and SLO is so close by. Plus, we enjoyed going to many different wineries just minutes from our home!
Cell phone reception was very limited which was hard for us because we had family members at another house but there is a home phone you can use.
All in all, we had a very nice time & I would recommend this home to others.
Thanks for sharing your home!
What a place!
10 minutes from the convenience of restaurants/shops and yet you could be on another planet. Quiet, secluded and picturesque
Suitably short distance to an abundance of awesome wineries
Fantastic for hikes with the dogs
A total of ten of us (6 adults and 4 furry friends) stayed here over the July 4th weekend. The owners were most welcoming
A phenomenally well stocked and kitted out kitchen allowed us to prepare great meals. The space allowed us to spread out on the 4 different outdoor areas as well as the living room and a place to play pool!
Will definitely plan on revisiting
Nestled in the hills of SLO is your 500 acre secluded ranch. Pismo beach is 7 miles away, Lake Lopez 5 miles away, and there are 13 wineries within 7 miles of the estate.
