Built in 1887, this historic privately owned Victorian home is available for overnight stays and offers the intimacy of a bed and breakfast in the center of 'Americas Finest City'.

For smaller groups, scroll down to very bottom and click on 'All My Rental Listing' to see options to rent just 1 or 2 floor of this house. We can accommodate any size reservation from a single traveling alone (Carriage House), a couple, or up to 5 guests on each of 4 floors (with up to 9 on FloorOne + Carriage House).

NOTE: Because this house is 4 floors and can be reserved by the floor - we will customize reservations with smaller groups on fewer floors. If your smaller group would like to have exclusive use of all floor's common rooms, we insist that minimum number of guests for calculating full house reservation be no less than 16. In these instances however, smaller groups would not have access to all of the bedrooms and the house would only be set up with linens, towels, and paper products for the number of guests in your group. In any case, reservations do not share floors with other groups. Each floor has a private entry and exclusive use.

Amazing, Eccentric, Personality. THIS HOUSE IS GREAT!!!

There was a group of 22 of us who stayed here for the weekend. The house far exceeded expectations. There were 2 families with toddlers who stayed on the second floor and everyone else was spread throughout the rest of the house. We used the third floor as the gathering area, it has the largest kitchen and sitting area. Even with everyone there and being loud, the children were able to sleep soundly on the floor below with very little noise coming from above.

The inside of the house is very eccentric and uniquely decorated which gave the house a great personality. No one ion our group had any complaints.

Our August Treasure

For the second year in a row, we rented the entire house for a group of 14 educators attending a conference in the area. Not only is it conveniently located, it is an absolutely amazing home away from home. My colleagues love the decor and spend time going from floor to floor admiring everything from the attic to the bathrooms (especially the large spa one on the first floor) to the hats, which of course everyone had to wear one! Staying here saves us $$ on food and lodging - we even cooked breakfast one morning. The trustee is a wonderful hostess and the housekeepers are gems, too. Where do you go where they remember you after a year and give you a big hug? As long as we travel to San Diego each year in August, we will be staying in our treasure home!!

Where do you live?

Perfect Stay

To start we rented floors 2, 3, 4. There were 6 couples total. This house was amazing and has everything you need. Each couple has their own room and space is no problem here. We were celebrating a 30th birthday and the set up was ideal. The 3rd floor kitchen is the huge kitchen that was used to cook our side orders. The entrée was being bbq'd downstairs in the gas bbq grill. They have a table outside with chairs to enjoy your food. The house is also a cab ride away, under $10, to the famous gas lamp district. The owner is also very nice and considerate. To sum it all up it's perfect and will DEFINITELY will be going back again soon.

Love this place!!!

I had such an amazing experience here! We were looking for a place that could accommodate a large group of people while also having a special experience and the SD House exceeded all expectations.

The house is located in between the vibrant streets of downtown San Diego and the quaint Bankers Hill neighborhood. We spent 4 days in the SD House and the location was one of the best aspects by far. Whether we were looking to hang out in downtown, head over to Coronado or go to La Jolla, the SD House was a great central location.

The house had everything we could possibly want and need. We took advantage of BOTH full kitchens nearly every night we were at the house, including the huge patio with the grill - this is where we spent the majority of our downtime. We were most pleased to find the house provided everything we could possibly need for the group meals. From slow cookers for meatballs to pitchers for margaritas, we were very impressed!

Parking was extremely generous, the streets were safe, and stores and restaurants were in walking distance. The house itself was VERY clean, beautifully decorated and provided several breathtaking views of San Diego. There was plenty space for everyone in our group. The third floor was by far the most popular with the full size kitchen (overlooking the bay!), several couches and of course the TV making it the ideal place to gather.

Needless to say, we cannot wait to come back. Our group had such a great experience and would highly recommend the SD House to anyone visiting San Diego!

I rented the entire Property for 3 days. Outstanding!!!

Simply stated the property and the location was absolutely fantastic. Every floor has its own personality and all 10 of us commented on how great the staying experience was. We were close to everything and felt safe walking to many of the tourist locations we visited. We were especially close to little Italy and the many fine restaurant located within the district. We also cooked several meals in the house and everything was just perfect. From the outside grill area that we used quite a bit to the formal dining room, we enjoyed it all. Thank you for having us and we will be back again.

Bankers Hill is an ideal place to go for an afternoon walk. The walk will offer you spectacular views of the city and the intrigue of some of San Diego's finest historic homes.

Some of the popular Bankers Hill restaurants include Bertrand at Mr. A's that has amazing views, Busalacci's, Cucina Urbana, The Hob Nob Cafe, and The Bankers Hill Restaurant. As a result of this idealistic location, the SDhouse is conveniently located to many attractions & amenities Bankers Hill is one of San Diego's nicest upscale residential neighborhoods located west of Balboa Park and east of Little Italy.

Bankers Hill is best known for some of the grandest homes in San Diego and the incredible hillside view that looks over downtown San Diego and the Pacific Ocean.
