Great home away from home

  • 5 of 5

This cabin felt like a home. Being around wildlife and trees for the first time in a while makes it even more peaceful. I recommend watching Friday the 13th, eating s’mores, hiking, and playing horseshoes. This world is beautiful. Take care of it, and travel as much as you can.

The cabin was perfect for our large family. Plenty of room for the kids both inside the cabin and out in the yard.

Family Fun in the Woods!

  • 5 of 5

We loved the Raccoon Ranch cabin in Williams. Our family enjoyed walks in the forest surrounding the cabin and found the beds very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked and had all the supplies for us to cook meals. The TV satellite and Wifi worked well, and allowed us to stay plugged while still relaxing in the pines. Its a great cabin for couples or families. We would highly recommend Raccoon Ranch!

so so...

The setting is beautiful. The wrap around porch is very welcoming but...

Raccoon Lodge is definitely homey. Before you decide to stay here, read others' reviews and note the owners replies.

In spite of being charged a cleaning fee there were a few chores to do before we left. They were minimal but enough so that the cleaning fee should have taken care of them.

It just wasn't the right place for us.

Owner's Response: We are glad you appreciate the setting, we do as well. Thank you for staying with us. We understand the vacation rental business is changing. One of the changes is there are many more people who would have stayed at hotels in the past. The big listing sites are all trying to make vacation rentals as convenient as a hotel room in many ways. Sometimes that means guests are met with unexpected things. When you stay at a hotel, there isn’t much to do when you leave. After all, there are one or two beds, and a bathroom. Vacation rentals are usually full-sized homes. With multiple bedrooms, multiple bathrooms, living areas inside and out, and a full kitchen. They generally don’t provide maid service each day, and the cleaning staff has to turn the properties around in the same time as a hotel room – a tall order. So, we, like most full-house vacation rentals ask for our guests to make sure they bag their trash properly (we are in the forest, and animals must be taken into account), neaten up, and put used linens and towels in the laundry room. It gives our cleaning staff a fighting chance of being able to get the house perfectly ready for our next guests. We do charge a cleaning fee. So do hotels, they just don’t tell you so, it’s in the price of the room each night. We hope in the end you had a great time despite the property not being the right place for you.
