Why Tanya/William Abboud chose Downtown

We just love this property. It is a wonderful, historic building - authentic New Orleans. Beautifully situated in Bourbon Street, yet in the residential quieter end of Bourbon Street and easy to get to everything of interest in the French Quarter and the Marigny.

What makes this apartment unique

Being able to open the front door of these quaint studios and be right there on Bourbon Street is very unique.

Perfect New Orleans getaway

  • 5 of 5

This was my 3rd time staying at the property and I will most certainly be back. The home is a little gem of a property that exudes New Orleans culture. Located on New Orleans' historic Bourbon St., the home is just steps away from the many shops and restaurants the French quarter has to offer. My stay was spent walking around and exploring all the city has to offer including the shops and festivals. Clean and quiet, the home is the perfect place to come back to and recharge. Would highly recommend!!

Great location!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I decided to go back to New Orleans (we visited in 2014) and couldn't decide where to stay. My co worker told us about VRBO (we had never used it before). After looking around for hours, I found this little gem. I knew where it was situated from our earlier visits there and decided it looked clean and convenient so we chose this place.

We booked and the customer service was good right from the start. I got a message from the owners to e-mail them if I had any questions before our trip and that I could call them if needed, when in town or in an emergent situation or with any questions during the trip. I swapped several e-mails with them, addressed any concerns and they allowed us to store our bags until about 3 on the day of our departure. They even offered to let us store them longer since there was no same day turn around. I would give them 5 stars just based on this.

The location is fantastic. It's on Bourbon Street, but far away enough to not be interrupted all night from noise and shenanigans. It is close to Frenchman Street also and the locals in the area make it comfortable to stay there. I never felt insecure in the area, my husband stood outside to vape and talk to the neighbors and they were nice and welcoming. I saw others say they took Uber or a cab to places but we walked everywhere. To fancy dinners, nice museums, the riverwalk outlets, the CBD. It is that close to everything.

The actual unit is small, very small. I like my privacy so I feel like more than two people would be crowded but if you bring a child or if it's 3-4 girlfriends or guys, I could see how that can work. There's the loft with a bed and the futon. The loft didn't feel uncomfortable to get up and down from and the bed is comfortable, there were plenty of pillows and the bedding was clean. There is a small closet with a plethora of hangers that also has 2 pairs of rain boots and a broom and dust pan. There was a 2 person kitchen table, a microwave, dishes, kitchen sink, coffee maker and all that good stuff. There's an AC/heating unit that works well, the TV was small but also worked well. The bathroom, well, it's tiny. Very small and very clean. If you're very tall or a larger person, it would be uncomfortable to use but it suited my husband and I just fine.

I would recommend this rental for anyone, if the description I gave above works for you. It's clean and convenient and I absolutely loved it. I really hope you do, too!

Perfect location to experience New Orleans.

  • 5 of 5

Exactly what you need to hop around the city. My husband and I didn't need to rent a car, we walked everywhere during the day and used Uber at night when we were all cleaned up and going out to dinner. We were able to experience every thing we wanted to see, from bourbon to Frenchman, we walked to the aquarium and beyond.

My only suggestion for the owners would be to include a travel sized iron for guests. My husband and I had to hang our clothes in the bathroom while we showered in hopes to de-wrinkle them.

Other than that, I loved the location and the city itself is very unique !

Very clean unit right on Bourbon St within walking distance to basically everything you can imagine

  • 5 of 5

Me and my girlfriend really enjoyed staying here. The unit was spotless when we arrived. The check-in time said 4pm. We had arrived early at 3pm, so we called and the owners had no problem with us being a hour early. It had a microwave and mini fridge for appliances. A TV with cable, not that you're there to watch it. But if you get stuck the house because of rain you'll have something to do. Over the course of people staying there, there is photo album under the coffee table filled with different brochures and menus of local food and attractions. You'll have two food marts a block away that both serve delicious food and everyday items. One of them will even deliver liquor and food to you. My only complaint would be the size of the shower. I'm 6'5" and my girlfriend is 5'10" and it made showering a little tricky. Overall and even with the smaller shower I'd highly recommend this place for your stay in New Orleans. We will definitely be returning

Interesting and Fun Location

  • 4 of 5

Although being near the thick of things can be a bit unsettling, it sure is fun! This spot was great. Super close to a 24/7 small grocery and surprisingly good deli, I enjoyed sitting out on my stoop and watching the people walk by and often stop and chat. The unit is bigger than it appears on the web site and from the outside as the bed is high above on a loft (be careful going up and down..not for the aged for sure). It's privately owned by a nice couple who are around and helpful (i needed a lightbulb replaced) and you can tell they care about the place. I thought the noise from the passerbyers would be an issue but it wasn't, and it definitely quiets down after 10 or so. The neighbors are nice and look out for one another so make sure and say hi. The futon couch was a little beat up, but I laid it down flat, put the sheets on and a few pillows and it was great for relaxing. The place is clean, convenient (super close to the music on Frenchmen Street..about 4 blocks.. and the craziness of Bourbon Street..about 7 blocks) and of course the neighborhood has little shops, bars and restaurants scattered all around so don't rent a car. (The City parking people are like nazis) it is super walkable and if you need to go anywhere outside of those locations, use a pedicab or Uber..cheap, convenient and they'll pick you up before you have a chance to get outside. I loved it. Thanks William and Tanya :)

Little Easy

  • 5 of 5

A nice, clean and cozy little place, good value for the price. It is a small place, but the layout makes the most of the space and it has all the essentials. Best for 2 adults, though 3 could work if you don't mind sharing a futon. I stayed here with a friend so we each had a separate sleeping space which was nice. I was sleeping in the loft, I am 50 and I didn't have any trouble the the ladder, but some people might. There is also a futon sofa on the ground floor.

It's a great location, especially if you don't have a car, it's a perfect distance from the crazy party crowds on Bourbon, very easy walking distance to the French Market, Jackson Square, Frenchman Street and easy access the hub of entertainments, restaurants, tours, bars, and music in the French Quarter. You can hear people walking by sometimes at night, so you might want some white noise if you are a light sleeper. We enjoyed feeling more like we were in a neighborhood seeing the everyday life, than being sequestered in a boring chain hotel.

Tayna and Bill are great to work with! Their very clear communications about the details of the rental made our trip planning worry-free and also they are very kind, helpful with questions and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again!
