About Carolyn

I am forever indebted to my parents who have entrusted this property to me. I grew up vacationing up here since 1973. This amazing property, 'Le Lac du Loup', has been our family's escape from reality and our home away from home for 40 years!.

Carolyn purchased this house in 1973

Why Carolyn chose Poconos

'Le Lac Du Loup' means The Lake of the Wolff's. This property was purchased in 1973 by my parents whose last name was Wolff. They have opened their home to hundreds of people over the years, most of which say it is their favorite place to visit. This cherished property should be on everyone's bucket list!'

What makes this house unique

The beauty of this site is like none other. Sitting on the deck at sunrise or then again at sunset is the most peaceful experience you will ever have. During the day the front yard is perfect for pick up football, soccer or baseball games plus so much more! A volleyball net is available for your use. Those who would prefer to watch, can view the activities from the deck. Jumping in the private lake after the game is a refreshing must! This is a one of a kind vacation!

This is a one of a kind of vacation. There are so many things to do without even leaving the property.

In the summer you can stay down by the lake all day long and never get bored. There is fishing, swimming, all kinds of water activities, hiking, tennis.... the list is endless.

In the winter there are snowmobiling trails, cross country skiing, ice fishing, ice skating and the list goes on. At the end of the day, warm up in front of a beautiful stone fireplace in the family room. Downstairs there is another stone wood burning fireplace. The kids can play video games, cards, or games in their own private quarters in the lower level. This is the vacation of a lifetime!

This Rental has Everything.

  • 5 of 5

The house is very spacious and comfortable with huge windows facing the lake. The deck is perfect for grilling and checking out the wildlife. The lake was perfect. Clean and clear with plenty of spots for fishing. The trails around the house have beautiful sceneries and were great for a relaxing hike. Snow tubing down the hill is also a good time in the winter. Carolyn is really cool and checked in with us when we got a little more snow than expected. I have rented a few places in the area for vacation in the past and I give this property the highest rating. Thank you for letting us stay, everyone had a great time. We definitely would love to come back.

The house is perfect for medium sized groups. Plenty of room for everyone. The grill is great!

We enjoyed our time at this property. The large yard with built in volleyball provided plenty of space for outdoor games and activities. I like that there is a canoe at the property to better enjoy the lake. The area is quiet, no one is around. The house is large enough to comfortably accommodate a medium sized group.

Lovely Lake

  • 5 of 5

We so enjoyed our stay at this house. Our little ones had the best time experiencing being out on the water for the first time. The lake was great for paddle boating & canoeing, but we were a little hesitant to swim in it. Anything you could think of that you'd need in a kitchen was there. Very spacious and comfy. Truly beautiful scenery, and the grounds are well-kept. We will DEFINITELY be back.

Beautiful Property - Another perfect stay

  • 5 of 5

Our third year back at Carolyn's beautiful property. Cannot recommend this place enough. Has everything you need to get away from it all. The house is extremely spacious and the views of the lake from kitchen and family room are stunning. So much space for lawn games and cooking on the large deck. The kids loved smores by the fire pit and the fishing was great. We'll be back. Carolyn is a pleasure to work with

Lake House Dream House!

  • 5 of 5

This is the second time that I've stayed at this beautiful lake house, and our group once again had a lovely stay. The house has all of the basic amenities you'd need for cooking up group meals and there's lots of space in the kitchen to store groceries. The wrap around deck is prime area for relaxing, playing card games and enjoying the lovely lake view. Lake swimming, canoeing and paddle boating is always a favorite. And when you need a break from the water, you can always play a game of tennis, stroll through the woods or toss a frisbee on the gigantic lawn. Carolyn has been easy to communicate with and it was nice to get to meet in person this time :) I highly recommend this property as a perfect vacation getaway for peace and quiet with lots of options for summer fun activities.

It was the best family vacation we have taken in a long time.

  • 5 of 5

The home is absolutely beautiful. Since I pick all of the vacation homes for my family to stay at every year I always get honest feedback from my family when they see it for the first time. I arrived about an hour after my family and I received 5 messages about how beautiful the home is and that I really outdid myself.

Before I start reviewing the home, if you're reading this, you've read the other five star reviews and realized this home is no joke. It's amazing. I do need to say though, the pictures do not do it justice. It is so much more spacious than the pictures lead you to believe.

First, the lake. It is really beautiful to view from the kitchen window, living room upstairs, the living room downstairs or the sitting by the fire pit at the lake shore. My entire family of 11 all went swimming and enjoyed both the paddle boat and canoe. There were places right at the dock where you can stand on a large rock, so if you'd like to stay close to the dock and swim and not have that lake feel under your feet, there are places to do that.

Second, Carolyn is the best host I've ever had the pleasure of renting from. She answered any and all questions within minutes. If there was an issue, she resolved it the best way possible. There was at one point an issue with the dumpster, which was resolved for our stay and did not impact us in the slightest. There is another review on here of her home that is extremely misleading but entirely ridiculous once you speak to Carolyn and realize how accommodating she truly is and see it in it's glory.

Finally, the home is about 15 minutes down the road from a super Walmart, which you'd never know coming out of the dirt from from your own private lake shore. If you're not a Walmart person, right across the street is a Weiss Market with a much smaller town vibe.

Some things to be aware of when renting here. First, the deck is old at some parts and you should wear shoes outside on it. That said, my two children under three walked and played on it everyday with no issue. Second, the entire house is carpet, but it is in great shape. The two showers are upstairs so the two bedrooms downstairs have to go upstairs and one shower is attach to a bedroom so that may be an issue for some.

Even with those very small things to consider, this home is a must stay if you're considering it. The best vacation lake house I've every stayed at on VRBO in this price range. Stay here, you'll love it!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for the wonderful review Ken! It was a pleasure doing business with you as well. I'm wondering if you knew there was a third shower attached to the house outside. In the spring, summer and fall months, it really helps to have that one as well. Just a heads up so that you'll know next time you stay with us!
