Getting married? This property has made an exquisite backdrop for weddings! The brides family or bridal party can stay in the home prior to the big day, and then the newlyweds can stay on for their honeymoon! A one of a kind event!
I am forever indebted to my parents who have entrusted this property to me. I grew up vacationing up here since 1973. This amazing property, 'Le Lac du Loup', has been our family's escape from reality and our home away from home for 40 years!.
Carolyn purchased this house in 1973
'Le Lac Du Loup' means The Lake of the Wolff's. This property was purchased in 1973 by my parents whose last name was Wolff. They have opened their home to hundreds of people over the years, most of which say it is their favorite place to visit. This cherished property should be on everyone's bucket list!'
The beauty of this site is like none other. Sitting on the deck at sunrise or then again at sunset is the most peaceful experience you will ever have. During the day the front yard is perfect for pick up football, soccer or baseball games plus so much more! A volleyball net is available for your use. Those who would prefer to watch, can view the activities from the deck. Jumping in the private lake after the game is a refreshing must! This is a one of a kind vacation!
Thank you for making your home available for 12 woman on a spiritual quest. The house and land offered us the opportunity to reflect and find our spiritual center.
We look forward to returning to this special place.
We again enjoyed a relaxing time away in the Poconos, in your very quiet setting. The house is roomy and each couple had their own bedroom. The deck is large and overlooks the small lake. We enjoyed fishing, boating and swimming.
Owner was very helpful to make our stay just wonderful.
This rental was great! Privately located with lots of property. Volleyball net, small dock for swimming, large yard, and a great deck all made the outdoors perfect for our group. The inside had plenty of space and was set up well. Carolyn (owner) was very nice and quick to respond throughout the entire process. We will likely be back and would definitely recommend to others.
We were so pleased with Carolyn’s rental. The house and property are expansive and very well-maintained. The lake is perfect for swimming, paddle boating (provided) and kayaking. The deck in the back of the house was perfect for relaxing in the afternoons/evenings where we could keep an eye on the kids in the giant backyard while getting dinner on the grill. There are also hiking trails behind the house which were just right for our 5 and 6 year old. Carolyn was extremely available to answer my many questions prior to our stay and I have no doubt that she would have been just as available if there had been any issues (there were not). We cannot wait for our next stay at this beautiful home!
From arrival to the last minute we had an incredible time at the mansion of Carolyn V. Words cannot describe how secluded that place really is, from wood trails filled with spring streams to the plentiful front yard where kids have a blast running around. The lake...stocked with fish like bass, pickerel and blue gill the size of a dinasours. Every cast you heard *FISH ON!* from our fishing enthusiasts. The house had plenty of space for everyone, the big plus was having two fridges due to multiple families bringing tons of food. This place Is perfect for everyone, the old and the young. We will be coming back year after year, although we would like to see just a few upgrades like newer grill and some work on the wooden swing by the lake, we had a really good time. Thank you Carolyn for trusting us to spend time at your estate!
We felt right at home in this lake front oasis. What an amazing get-a-way/ wedding weekend. Ms. Carolyn allowed us to use her property for what would be the backdrop to a unique and beautiful wedding. We had such great chemistry with the property owner and truly hope we found not only a venue to visit for years to come, but a great friendship.
When you arrive to this home, you will be greeted by views that will take your breath away. This plush green land, has six bedrooms with lake views that will blow you away. If you are looking to get away on a honey moon, the master bathroom has a lovely surprise in store to keep the romance going. Also, the kitchen and living room area has plenty of space for family to gather and spend time with one another. In the evenings, you will enjoy the tranquility of the Poconos Mountains, where you and your family can enjoy a bon-fire and all that nature has to offer. Located only 15 mins from the local town, there are grocery stores, diners and restaurants (we picked up a few pizza pies from Papa Primo’s delicious!). There are other activities such as archery and horseback riding all within 30 mins of the property to enjoy during your stay.
As you know weddings are not without miscommunication and mishap but Ms. Carolyn showed us great patience and understanding throughout. I greatly appreciate her help and guidance I would recommend her home a thousand times over.
All the best,
Our group of 12 stayed at this home in early April for 3 nights.
The first two nights where great, the last night was a disaster.
The power went out sometime in the middle of the last night, we woke up to a freezing home without running water. So no heat, electricity or water at 8AM on a Sunday morning.
We messaged the owner, the owner responded...and I kid you not..."You can get a pot and fill it with water from the lake to flush the toilets."
We left the property immediately.
3 Days later, when we inquired about the deposit she said a refund was not possible because the kitchen was not clean and the living room was a mess. She refused to refund our full deposit due to her property not being prepared to handle a two inch snow storm. No bottled water, no generator, no back ups of any sort. We would have let bygones be bygones, but the lack of customer service and the refusal of deposit refund is not justified.
We will be fighting this tooth and nail with Homeaway. We didnt want a refund of the usage charges (even though a partial refund is justified), just a refund of our deposit but quite frankly at this point this kind of customer service just wont stand.
To all other renters out there, the property is nice, the home is large but be concerned about the overall service.
Here some additional concerns:
1) The deck is very very old, you must wear shoes or you WILL get splinters. Even with sneakers this is a health hazard waiting to happen.
2) The home is quite far from any proper road, you will need a 4x4.
3) Water is well water, I'm sure its fine but I know some folks need filtered water.
4) The Internet is super slow, this is probably because the home is very rural. We clocked 5MBPS.
5) The forest area behind the home is filled with deer and ticks, one of our guests actually got a tick on his stomach. Ironically, one of our other guests is a surgeon and removed the tick.
6) Some of the switches in the kitchen area don't work, they are not labeled.
7) The hot water is really not hot, its more like warm. After 2 people shower, the third is getting cold water.
8) The bedrooms are decent, they do provide blankets, etc.
9) There is a large jacuzzi, but its not working.
10) The nearest store is about 10 miles away, this is def a plus for the location!
This is a one of a kind of vacation. There are so many things to do without even leaving the property.
In the summer you can stay down by the lake all day long and never get bored. There is fishing, swimming, all kinds of water activities, hiking, tennis.... the list is endless.
In the winter there are snowmobiling trails, cross country skiing, ice fishing, ice skating and the list goes on. At the end of the day, warm up in front of a beautiful stone fireplace in the family room. Downstairs there is another stone wood burning fireplace. The kids can go and play video games, cards, or games in their own private quarters in the lower level. This is the vacation of a lifetime!
