Tucked into this unique private location, this OCEANFRONT 4 bedroom luxury duplex is rented as ONE LARGE HOUSE and sleeps up to 10. Each mirror image unit has two bedrooms and sleeps up to five. Prices quoted are for BOTH UNITS combined, we do not rent units separately.

This adorable oceanfront duplex bungalow is in the absolute best location, bar none! No long drives to town, no long walkovers hundreds of feet from the beach! Walk out the door direct oceanfront!

Although the house is an extremely convenient location, it is very quiet. It is located near popular restaurants, but is not located next door to any of them and therefore has NO restaurant noise. It is the ONLY house on the beach that is completely private with no foot traffic going to the beach on either side.

IMPORTANT: If you see a listing that does not show exact location then they do not want you to know!! Unfortunately rental listing sites do not verify accuracy of location and the majority of listings in St. Augustine Beach are not actually located there!

It is the only vacation rental on the entire beach which prevents beach goers from walking by either side of the house yet offers excellent access to the non driving beach.

This adorable duplex is also conveniently located with 5 restaurants, bars, trolley to downtown, surfboard, bicycle and kayak rentals and a pool all about a block from the house yet is very private and quiet. There are only a few OceanFront houses in this most highly sought part of St. Augustine beach and this is one of them! Only 10 minutes from the Historic District! It doesn't get any better than this. St. Augustine Beach is the most convenient and beautiful beach in the area.

Newly renovated and beautifully decorated, Surf and Sand OceanFront is a duplex that is rented only as only one large house. One side of the duplex is called the 'Surf' unit and the other side is called 'Sand', hence the name Surf and Sand OceanFront!

It has two HUGE oceanfront upper and lower decks, two living areas, two kitchens, two dining areas, 4 bedrooms.

The Panoramic Upper Deck and lower Dune Deck offer stunning views of the ocean and dunes and provide chaise lounges for sunbathing as well as table areas for outdoor socializing, games and cookouts!

The two living areas are beautifully decorated and include leather sofas, four chairs that convert to twin beds and 47 inch flat screen televisions. There are flat screen TVs in every bedroom, 6 TVs in all, with premium hd cable access.

The two designer kitchens have stainless steel appliances which include refrigerators, dishwashers, stoves and microwaves plus granite countertops.

The four bedrooms include two oceanfront Master bedrooms that sleep up to four in two king beds. The two queen bedrooms sleep up to 6 in 2 queen beds, and two lower trundles. There are two twin size convertible chairs in the Sand unit and two Ikea sleep chairs in the Surf unit for additional sleeping as well.

There are four bathrooms, two on the upper levels and two split bathrooms on the lower levels. The lower level facilities include sink, vanity and toilet rooms, plus two beachside tropical showers complete with changing rooms for maximum guest comfort.

Wi-Fi is available throughout the house (and on the decks) and 2 full size washers and dryers are also provided for our guests use.

The Beach can be accessed directly across the oceanfront dune however St. Augustine Beach asks that visitors use one of the numerous beach accesses. A flat, City managed beach access is just 15 yards away and leads directly to the pedestrians only beach. Our guests may choose either option. If opting to cross the dune guests are asked to utilize the path to minimize the environmental impact.

This premium location puts you in the HEART of everything St. Augustine Beach has to offer.

My family are North Florida natives that have owned and managed vacation rentals for over 6 years. My brother and I own this beautiful property which we have just remodeled for maximum luxury and comfort.

For maximum convenience the two upscale ground floor showers and changing rooms are located right by the back door, are completely private, have both hot and cold water and foot baths!

Comfortable with fun decor

We loved the location! Right on the beach and easy walking distance to several restaurants. Mango Mango became our favorite. The units are cozy with lots of beachy decor items. The decks were our favorite; we'd have spent more time on them if the weather had cooperated. The weather kept us from trying out the two tropical outdoor showers also. The kitchens have plenty of dishes, glasses, pots, utensils, etc. The master bedrooms were wonderful! Elevated angled ceilings with shiplap, cozy beds, sliding glass doors leading to the upper deck, plenty of closet space, a built-in chest of drawers, and a large sofa/chaise.

My only difficulty was the trundle beds: even with moving the nightstand into the closet and pushing the bed against the opposite wall, there wasn't much room for pulling out the trundle. There are other places to sleep, like the couch or the convertible chairs in each unit, but the trundles are best for kids only.

It would be even more enjoyable if the units connected on the inside too.

Overall we enjoyed our stay!

Fantastic beach stay!

Very tastefully furnished with good attention to detail. Mattresses were very comfy and the overall layout was great for our family of 6. Beachcomber is so convenient, although we only went once since we tried to pack in as many activities as possible during our stay. The upper and lower decks were perfect (lower during the daytime and upper in the evening). Bathrooms were lovely as well. Would definitely make a return trip to this property. Would recommend putting The Beachcomber restaurant in the GPS. That gets you there easier, as some devices/google does not pick up the 1.5 A Street address.

We enjoyed a wonderful family trip Thanksgiving week!

This is a fabulous property in a great location. The kitchen was well equipped and met all our needs. It was so nice to wake up every morning with the beach literally in your back yard! The owners were very responsive and friendly to any questions or help we needed.

Not as advertised

When my family & I arrived we noticed that there were several discrepancies between the posting on Home Away and the house we found before us: 1. While the house is definitely 4 bedrooms (2 on each side of the duplex), it is NOT 4 bathrooms. There is a powder room (just a toilet and a sink) on the bottom floor of each side of the duplex and 1 bathroom (with a shower) upstairs on each side. This was a huge disappointment because it was very important to us that each couple have their own bathroom. The only positive I will say about the bathroom is that both showers were really nice. 2. Yes, the house is on the beach. However, the listing mentioned something about beautiful views of the ocean from both decks. What the ad failed to mention is that you can only get a beautiful view from the bottom deck if you stand in one specific spot and, even then, you can only see a sliver of the ocean. If you are sitting on the bottom deck you are completely surrounded by dunes with no view of the ocean or beach. Which does provide some nice privacy if that's important to you, it's just that we prefer to see the ocean. Now, you may be wondering why we didn't just hang out on the upper deck (there are 2 decks, if you haven't read the ad yet). Well, the only way to access the upper deck is via the master bedrooms on each side. So if you aren't staying in that bedroom, it's kind of weird. There are no stairs leading to the bottom, or anything. Very bizarre. 3. The grill. The "state park-sized grill", "great for families". If you are able to view the photos I attached, take special note of the photo of the grill. It reminded me of the grill at my apartment in college. Very small, no cover, definitely not what I would consider "state park-sized". We tried to grill out one night, nothing crazy just kabobs, and we couldn't even fit all the skewers on the grill. Much like the other items on this list that were a let down for us, this would have been a non-issue if there hadn't been false advertising. 4. Yes, you could walk to the beach straight from the backyard, without having to go out to the road and into the public access. If you were okay with hiking through the dunes. There is a small pathway, big enough for a single-file line, that literally takes you trekking through the dunes and brings you out where cars are able to park at the public beach access. Which you may not mind, but since we spend the whole day on the beach, we tend to take a bunch of stuff.

Owner's Response: I do not think St. Augustine Beach is the place for you. We obviously have an excellent reputation as evidenced by our reviews. In the interest of other readers I will address your accusations. St. Augustine Beach has dunes directly in front of virtually every oceanfront property. It would be almost impossible to find a property that does not look into the dunes from ground level. The upper level has direct oceanfront panoramic views. The bathrooms are clearly defined as being on the upper and lower levels. There are four showers, two upper and two lower private beachside showers/changing rooms, a favorite with our guests. St. Augustine Beach has strict rules about Beach access. No one is even allowed on the dunes unless they are owners or their guests. The City offers numerous Beach accesses, one of which is located 15 yards from the house. It offers an easily accessible flat surface and access to the Beach as well. The narrow path you referenced is clearly defined to minimize the environmental impact to the dune. Our guests have a choice of either option. The grill is in fact a state park designated grill. The 300 sq ft panoramic oceanfront deck is not accessed from the ground level for the comfort, privacy and security of our guests. In the future we hope no one is as careless with your reputation as you have been with ours.

Spring Break

My two daughters and I stayed here over their spring break. The house is great and we all had tons of space and privacy. No reason to drive anywhere as the beach is right in your backyard. Shopping and places to eat are just a short walk and the area is quiet. We will be back.
