Welcome to our ocean, jungle, mountain/waterfall view Princeville condo on Kauai's spectacular North Shore, one of the most beautiful and peaceful locations on earth. The Princeville Resort area is known for its gorgeous beaches, world-class golf, top-notch surfing, snorkeling, swimming, hiking, kayaking, horse-back riding, tennis, helicopter tours, dining, and shopping.
We are brand new owners and just finished a complete renovation of the entire condo in August 2012. Enjoy the redesigned kitchen layout with new hardwood kitchen cabinets, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, dishes, utensils, and cookware. Relax while enjoying the new furniture, tile and bamboo flooring (no icky-sticky rental carpet!), quiet ceiling fans, luxurious bedding, linens, and bathrooms. Some people will advertise a renovated or remodeled condo, but they've only replaced a few things. Everything in our condo is new, current, comfortable and inviting.
There is a king bed in the master bedroom, TWO queen beds in the guest bedroom, and a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. The two queens in the guest bedroom allow you to sleep 6 comfortably in beds without having to use the sleeper sofa in the living room. Our condo is on the second (top) floor so you don't have the noise of anyone above you, and you have privacy since people walking around outside can't see in through the windows like they can in bottom floor units (no fishbowl effect). The condo has everything you need for a great vacation, including beach towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, cooler, books, movies, games, 42 inch flat screen, WIFI and more.
Ali'i Kai II is known in Princeville as one of the most quiet, peaceful, and immaculately landscaped complexes in the area, and our unit is in the building with the best location in the entire complex. We have an ocean view from our lanai (watch whales in season) and breathtaking jungle, mountain/waterfall views from the dining room, kitchen, master bedroom, and master shower windows. Ours is the only building with great views from both sides. Every other building has a parking lot or parking lot/pool view from the dining room, kitchen, master bedroom, and master shower windows. The cooling trade winds hit our condo perfectly. Also, the lanai's in our building don't face the direct sun, so you can comfortably sit out on the lanai all day long if you want to without overheating as you would in other buildings. Right outside the front door is a large greenbelt bordering a jungle canyon filled with tropical birds which sing the most beautiful songs each morning and afternoon. We are also close to the pool area (but not too close to be disturbed) with it's newly renovated and immaculate pool, separate kiddie pool, large hot tub, and ready to use gas bar-b-ques (Ali'i Kai 1 does not have a hot tub).
If you have read this far it is likely that you are familiar with the Princeville Resort area and all of its condominiums and fun things to do. You just need to decide where to go. Don't get stuck in just another 'condo'. We have taken great care to outfit the property with everything you will need for a worry free stay. No cloak and dagger here or disappointment; just beautiful, no hassle fun for a reasonable cost on the spectacular North Shore of Kauai.
I am an accountant and my wife Cindy is a high school teacher. We have three wonderful children: Ryan, Sarah, and Sean. We thoroughly enjoy Kauai and all the outdoor activities it offers: hiking, snorkeling, biking, surfing and more! We reside in Northern California. It is our hope that our condo brings you a bit of the tranquility and adventure that we've found in Kauai. (Picture is at the Waimea Canyon lookout-great hiking in Waimea and Koke'e State Parks).
Owner purchased this condo in 2012
We had never been to Hawaii until we came to Kauai for a family vacation in 2007. We fell in love with Kauai, especially the spectacular North Shore (it has to be one of the most beautiful places on earth). The lush, green mountains with waterfalls are awe-inspiring (you never get tired of looking at them). We day dreamed about owning a place here, but never could have qualified to purchase anything. With the recent real-estate decline, we were able to qualify, and our dream became a reality. Our hope is to spend a few months a year here in the future if we're ever able to retire.
We feel blessed to have found what we feel was 'the best deal in Princeville' when we purchased our Ali'i Kai II condo. With ocean views from the lanai side and mountain views from the other side, our jaws dropped when we walked into the unit and looked out at the mountain/jungle through the dining room window. There was not a better view in the area for three times the cost. We loved the quiet location of the complex and the fact that the grounds and buildings were immaculate. Since the inside of most of the units are old and outdated, we decided to remodel the entire condo as opposed to just putting in new flooring and paint like most people do. We wanted to provide a condo that was fresh and new, consistent with a high-end rental, but warm, comfortable and inviting at the same time. Hopefully you'll agree that we accomplished our goal.
Our stay at Alii Kai II met all our expectations and more! With only four days to explore Kauai, we were happy to have highlights and favorite spots described in detail by the owner. We were especially thrilled to make the trip down to Turtle Bay right on property to explore the cave!
The condo was clean and neat and very comfortable. An added perk was the early rooster crows which was our sign to start our day early to make the most of a great winter vacation in Hawaii.
What a great time we had staying at this condo. We were here in the Fall and were amazed by all the sunny weather. The inside of this condo has been updated and it is very nice. We didn't use the kitchen just because we wanted to enjoy all the Island food, but you could definitely cook all your meals here. Because my husband and I were the only ones here, we had tons of room to spread out. We loved having our own bathrooms. We didn't ever use the pool, but it looked nice. We were just having too much fun enjoying all the beaches up North! We would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone.
Aloha........We LOVE Kauai......and this condo only added to the BEST vacation we've ever taken as a family. The location is stunning...the most beautiful sunsets right out our bedroom window that are forever etched in my memory. The suggestions Eric has given for hiking and paces to eat etc are the best.
The hi lite for our family was Turtle Cave.......I have no words......breathtaking. We weren't able to actually make the hike down the trail until the day before we left Kauai because the surf was too high......happy beyond words. Incredible beauty. A must see. The entire resort of Princeville is such a pleasure to stay at. There's beauty everywhere. The condo exceeded our needs. Very clean and well stocked for cooking meals, which we mostly did.
We will without a doubt return to this beautiful island we fell in love with.
Mahalo Eric & family for making our stay so comfortable.
The condo was absolutely perfect! The location was gorgeous, waking to the mountain view was amazing. We enjoyed our coffee on the deck, listening to the surf, and watching the clouds. The trade winds keep the place cool, and it was nice listening to the rain during the night. The kitchen was well-stocked, and had everything we needed to prepare our meals. We also used the pool, hot tub and BBQ, which were very nice. There were beach chairs, umbrellas, a cooler, lots of snorkels and masks, and plenty of towels. There is a nice selection of games and books, we had game night a couple of the nights we were there. Eric's recommendations were great, they were very helpful. It was an absolutely perfect vacation, the condo was so beautiful and clean, and Princeville is the best place to stay on Kauai. We did not want to go home! I would definitely recommend this condo, and I would love to go back again. On a side note, I would recommend Holo Holo charters for their sunset catamaran tour, Safari Helicopter, and Kayak Wailua. The kayak tour was fun - kayaking and then hiking to a waterfall. Our guide was funny and knowledgeable, and it was amazing to swim underneath the waterfall.
Kaua'i is the place to go to get away...this condo is the place in Kaua'i to make your visit feel like home. This condo offers ample parking, is clean and has many amenities! Eric is a terrific 'host'; he answered questions promptly and sent reminders...at the request of 'recommendations', he provided some that streamlined my Google searches for things-to-do. We had 3 adults and 2 kids (14 & 11) and there was plenty of space with room to spare!
Check-In instructions worked to a tee! Easily found the location, the parking lot(s) and easily got into the very clean and organized condo! Quick check revealed the place nicely stocked with pots/pans, plates, silverware, and cups/mugs. There was a nice inventory of beach necessities including towels, toys, boogie boards, umbrellas, and a cooler. Noticed, also, some bottles of sunblock and cans of insect repellent (probably from other visitors, as we left our leftovers too). The property, itself, was beautiful...easy walk to the pool, to a trailhead, and to an overlook (to watch the sunsets). We barbequed and had dinner at the pool three times; it was painless and fun!
Eric's description of this property might sound too good to be true, so our expectations were high; fortunately, the condo exceeded our expectations! Kaua'i is a beautiful as everyone says! We tried several shaved ice places but returned to one in Hanalei Bay (just a 10-15 drive away). We made a fun day trip to Waimea Canyon (including stops at Glass Beach, Russian Fort ('black' sand), and Kauai Coffee). We ziplined, kayaked, snorkeled and hiked...we were told to 'embrace' the mud everywhere we went (bring footwear that will help you accomplish this)! We saw Spouting Horn and had Koloa Rum (railroad ride too). Check online for discounts...call or email to reserve date(s) and/or time(s). We could pack lunch (cooler in condo)...but there's no shortage of places to eat (be sure to do a luau); loved being able enjoy some family dinners at the condo. Favorite thing to do? Take side roads and found lesser known beaches, fruit stands, trails, and Yelp recommended food joints! We wholeheartedly recommend Eric and this condo!
[An aside, we vacationed with another family that stayed at a different, but similarly sized condo in Princeville. They sometimes struggled to find parking, their condo was minimally stocked (settings for only 4 although advertised for 6, 1 pot and 1 pan), and their pool was crowded and small.]
We had a great time staying at this beautiful condo and were very pleased with our visit. We had an opportunity to see 2 other condos in the same complex at Alii Kai and all the members of our gathering said that this one was by far the best. Fully updated and great views but also the most comfortable and best equipped. It says a lot about the owner who was fantastic to work with and was very helpful. Lots of recommendations in a book well prepared for visitors to look through.
I cant wait to go back and stay again in the next year or two. Makes me think I need to buy my own little piece of paradise.
Thank you for a fantastic place and some great memories.
