We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay at the Soaring Mountain Cabin. Everything was just perfect. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, cooking pans, spices and condiments. The house was clean and the location was idyllic. A private seating by a babbling brook with a view of the valley was about as relaxing as one can get. Nice that there was wifi but no phone signal (a real get away). The 15 mile drive to Hot Springs was not an easy one, so we were glad that we brought our own food to cook rather than navigate the windy roads at night. Easy access to Max Patch and the AT.
I can't recommend this cabin enough. It's cozy, comfortable, fully stocked kitchen, incredible location (not too far from attractions, but far enough for that "away from it all" feeling) and the grounds are amazing. There's a firepit, lots of firewood, a small stream that you can hear in the background and beautiful scenery all around.
Great communication from the owners, and an overall tremendous experience. Can't wait to get back there!
The cabin is great. The altitude is 2700 feet so nights are cool. With the windows open at night we heard the owl up on the mountain behind us. Max patch is close to cabin by car. The altitude is 4500 feet and is an open pasture "bald" that has 360 views and butterflies galore. The loop is 4 miles and much of it shaded. Call hot springs spa and book a geothermal hot tub. You will sleep like never before. The trout are in fact under the bridge to the cabin. In the evening they come out from under the rock bridge footings. Go slow and enjoy being away from civilization. This cabin Is a jewel. Supply your own fun. Owners are close and very attentive.
The cabin was a great escape from everyday city life. Peaceful, quite, clean and well stocked. I was worried about not having air conditioning in the cabin since we were staying in July, but the cabin actually felt cooler than my house. My wife and I had a great time on our anniversary. We will definitely return with our kids.
The cabin was exactly what my husband and I were looking for to spend our anniversary weekend. It was quiet and peaceful, and we just enjoyed each other's company.
It's close to hiking, but far from everything else, which makes it secluded enough to feel absolutely private.
