Currently living in the Austin, Texas area, we are a family of five (three kids, mom and dad) who love to travel. I am originally from Michigan but have lived all over as a child (including Colorado Springs!) thanks to military. My husband is from Munich, Germany. He has lived in the U.S. for eleven years now and is an electrical engineer.
Catherine purchased this house in 2012
My husband and I travel as often as possible with our three kids. We typically travel to Europe once a year, but we also try to take at least one vacation per year in America. Wherever we travel to, we often end up renting a house or apartment instead of a hotel. For many years now, we have had a dream of owning a vacation home that we could share with others. Having family in Colorado Springs, we thought this would be the perfect spot. We love the mountains, the dry air (we live in humid Texas!) and the variety that downtown Colorado Springs offers.
I've always loved older homes. When we looked at this house, the realtor pulled out an old skeleton key from the lock box and I fell immediately in love! Walking through the house, with all of the original charm, I felt like it was a dream come true to find a house in such good condition with many of the classic details that a bungalow built in the early 1900's had.
My family enjoyed our stay over the Christmas holidays in this pleasant comfortable older home in a very nice neighborhood. We appreciated coming in to find some fun holiday decorations around the house. The house was plenty warm even though the weather was very cold while we were there. The kitchen, though small, was well stocked with all the needed equipment to make our holiday meals. We found the beds to be comfortable as well. My son's little dog was able to enjoy running around safely in the fenced back yard.
Catherine was a pleasure to work with, and very considerate when we needed to make adjustments to our stay due to unforeseen events.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at this cozy home in Colorado Springs. The house was comfortable, well appointed, and had everything we needed- cozy bedrooms with plenty of storage, a beautiful updated bath, fully stocked kitchen, and plenty of room in the living areas. The off street parking and washer/dryer were appreciated as well! We found the neighborhood convenient and quiet but active, and enjoyed walking our dog around the area. All in all, a fantastic stay! We would love to book this property again on future trips.
As our stay got closer, I kept asking the owner "will there be this or should we bring our own?" but the house had everything that we needed, and more! Seriously, there was even a savings card for the grocery store that was closest.
The house was very quaint in a quiet and nice neighborhood in a good part of Colorado Springs, central to seemingly everything. It was great having the two TVs, so the kids could play on the Wii and I could watch baseball. We loved the kitchen and dining room the most. Our dog stayed with us and was very comfortable in the fenced-in backyard.
We had 3 adults and 3 children, plus the dog, and this place was truly perfect for us. Catherine was very quick to answer any questions we had and we hope to stay here or at her other property again next year!
We enjoyed our stay in this lovely house. Just the right size for our group. We appreciated the well outfitted kitchen. Our only suggestion would be to add a knife sharpener. We especially appreciated the laundry and the outdoor grill. Everything worked very well and we were very comfortable there
I had the pleasure of staying here for 3 nights while on my house-hunting trip in Colorado Springs. It is a beauty!! Immaculate, gorgeous and so much space. The huge kitchen was well stocked with spices and dinnerware, and it was a great surprise to find soap, shampoo & conditioner in the bathrooms! The beds were so comfortable, and the TV's were great - my son stayed the the huge basement area and really enjoyed Netflix on the big-screen TV. The front porch is a wonderful place to enjoy the mountain view and historic neighborhood; ample back parking was so convenient. You simply cannot pick a better area to stay while in Colorado Springs - literally 10 minutes from Garden of the Gods, and just around the corner from a big grocery store. A few streets over - Old Colorado City restaurants and shops. I ordered from Borriello Brother's pizza during my stay - love them! Catherine was absolutely wonderful in making my stay so comfortable, and was very prompt to answers questions. During a stressful house-hunting trip, it was such a relief to come back to relax in this lovely large house. I highly recommend this beautiful home!
