Jan Davis purchased this house in 1997
Our home has been in the family for nearly 100 years. It began as a favorite camp spot before the dams were built and before the paved highway. We built this home to blend into the scenery and feel like it had been here for years. Actually, it was built in 1996-1997. Before that time a trailer sat here. We think the improvements have been appropriate.
Its like camping with all the comforts of home. We provide 24 hr assistance. Close to Eugene events, and great for family reunions or just relaxing get away.

We rented the house while attending the NCAA Women's Golf Tournament. With a party of 5 there was more than enough space for everyone! The deck and scenic view from every angle was breathtaking!! Jan is very accommodating, she made sure everything ran smoothly from the time we arrived until we left to the airport. The house was spotless, kitchen was stocked with everything you needed to cook with, plenty of towels in the bathroom, and the linens and beds were so comfortable we slept like babies!! Will definitely come back to visit!!

We stayed here over Thanksgiving with our family and really enjoyed ourselves. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed and had plenty of room for all 6 of us. The view of the lake was lovely and so was the surrounding property. Jan was very easy to work with and very helpful. Would love to stay again in summer weather!
A lovely hidden retreat just outside of Eugene! Jan and Gary provided us with all we could possibly expect in a vacation home! The house is spacious and very well appointed, and delightfully clean. Almost too big for the two of us. How I wished our family was with us! We enjoyed the huge deck and the stunning view of Lake Dexter. The kitchen had everything we could possibly wish for. We enjoyed sunning on the deck, the early morning rowing teams and many colorful and peaceful sunrises. The driveway was a little bit hard to find but with Jan's great directions , we had no problem finding it in the dusk as we arrived after a long day of travel. We attended a wedding at the Mount Piscah Arboretum, which is only a short hop on Hwy 58. This location is very close and easy to reach by car to all the sites and features of Eugene. We cooked several meals on the electric grill provided and found that feature to be very nice compared to our charcoal grill at home. Jan's library is great and I had time to explore her many books about crafts and Oregon. We even got to watch a Green Bay Packer game while we were there! I enjoyed the Lowell Covered Bridge historic kiosk and all the sites we took in near our cottage. A trip to the Fred Meyer grocery in Eugene was also a treat, so many choices and so little time! We did several day trips: we enjoyed the drive to Crater Lake and that awesome view and the colorful drive home down the Umpqua River Valley. We also went to Bend, visited several breweries and drove thru the lava fields on our way back home. We had a fantastic sunny day when we drove to Newport and simply walked the beach and did some whale watching at Foulweather Point. Unfortunately we had to leave a day early to catch an early morning flight out of Portland, but we made the best of that too. We were able to take a stroll thru the Japanese Garden and were surprised by the view of Mount Hood. Thank you both for providing us with a beautiful retreat and giving us a cozy home base to explore all of Central Oregon. We felt we had done it all when we returned home. A beautiful out of the way place to stay!
The property is amazing and the host is very friendly. The view is incredible.
My family of 5 just returned from a long Labor Day weekend stay, at this beautiful property. Waking up to the pristine views, from almost every window, the trees, the lake, and the great outdoors, was magnificent! The property served us well, as we had family from surrounding areas over, for a surprise birthday party. The property is very roomy, with outdoor living space, on the decks, overlooking the lake. This Home is fully equipped, with everything you need. The owners, who live close by are helpful when you need them, but also discreet. Everyone of us, commented on the very comfortable beds. The house is lovely. It's like being in your own home. It is tastefully decorated, blending with it's beautiful surroundings. We went hiking nearby, but just driving around the area, is beautiful. We would definitely, Come back and stay in this home. It was a wonderful experience. Eugene, is about 30 minutes away. There is a nearby market, five minutes away. Some of us enjoyed fishing in nearby streams, while others went antiquing in nearby Springfield, 15 minutes away.
Thank you for a memorable stay***** it went to fast! Cheryl from Calabasas, Ca.
This fairytale of a home couldn't have been a lovelier spot to gather friends and family to celebrate our son's graduation. Delightfully decorated, comfortable gathering spots both inside and out, wonderful lake views, well-equipped kitchen, clean and cozy while being bright and open, this house and surrounding property was amazing. We had folks coming and going over the course of 4 days and Jan, Gary and little pup Gilly were so very gracious and accommodating. We ate our dinners out on the large wrap-around deck strewn with strings of little white lights and watched the moon come up over the hill each night. Simply Magic.
We so enjoyed this home. It was close to so many beautiful hiking trails and waterfalls and we tried to enjoy them all!! The house was great! The view is amazing and the house was so comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with everything you could possibly need. The owners are so great to work with too! Thank you so much for sharing your home with us!
