Beautiful cozy lake house. Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time visiting Vermont in December 2017 even though it was a VERY cold week! The house was warm, clean, cozy and welcoming, and we found plenty of things to do in the area. The views of the lake covered in snow are amazing! We loved the fireplace, it was so nice to enjoy some peace and quiet, and explore Debbie’s book collection. Our kids loved the bunk beds in the basement, sledding right by the house was so fun! Highly recommend visiting Billings farm, Montshire Science museum and Upper Valley Aquatic Center if you have kids. Thank you, Debbie!

Christmas in Vermont

  • 5 of 5

For a couple of Floridians, this was the perfect house in which to experience a White Christmas. The house is nicely equipped and beautifully decorated with great attention to detail and guest comfort....and Mother Nature even cooperated with several inches of snow while we were there. The proximity to Killington and Suicide Six also made it fun for the skiers in our group. Our host provided great communication and tips on places to go and things to do including a very nice Christmas Eve service at the local church. Our stay in Barnard could not have been better.

We loved our stay at this beautiful , well equipped for fun home.

  • 5 of 5

We spent 3 nights though it felt longer as we became so relaxed. The view of Silver Lake was amazing as well as seeing the morning mist and sunsets. Though the weather became brisk we got out on the lake with the peddle boat and fished. I highly recommend staying at Debs home. Thank you for everything .

We had a wonderful visit at Silver Lake! The home and property was all that we expected and MORE!

  • 5 of 5

The property is immaculate! The photos online don't do this home justice... it is a beautiful home in a quiet, relaxing location on the lake. We had such fun using the kayaks and sitting out on the deck in the evenings under the stars. We loved our stay and didn't want to leave!

This would get a 6 star from me if i could give it..

Wow, where do you start? Debs the owner gave us great information during booking, one week before arrival and the day before too. Check in was a breeze and she left the house open for us as well a gift bag of goodies.

This place is awesome, I was worried when Debs told me that the pictures on the listing were taken with a wide angle lens on the web site and she was concerned that it’s smaller than it looks, not true. The place was perfect for us, great open plan on main floor so we could cook watch the kids and there's a massive outdoor deck and stone patio, with a dining table and a BBQ.

My wife and I had the master bedroom on the main floor with our own en suite bathroom. Our 2 kids slept upstairs, each had their own bedroom with a TV with lots of kids channels, though after a day of activities on the Lake, they were both asleep within 15 minutes. So my wife and I for once managed to get some quality time in the evenings sitting out on the deck, drinking wine and watching the loons on the Lake and ambient lighting from these super cool electric Tiki lights hat just came on automatically at dusk, it sure made for some rare and perfect evenings.

During the days, we either all 4 kayaked the Lake, there are 5 kayaks on site, the two sit on ones were great for the kids so we & they didn’t have to worry if they capsized..We took the pedal boat out to the center of the Lake with a picnic and it has a great deck at the back so the kids could jump off swim and then climb back on! Some mornings while the kids had breakfast and played board games, we took the paddle boards out.

This house really has everything, life jackets for all the water sports, all the equipment you could need in kayaks, pedal boat, duck boat, swimming dock. The Owner sent us an email with the 'Local what’s On today Guide'. The local General store has everything you could want, hot baked croissants and cookies every morning..And you get to meet the locals too, who were real nice and helpful with where to go and what to do around the area, the store manager is really nice too.

This would get a 6 star from me if I could give it, we have rented through Homeaway, VRBO and Airbnb before, but this house tops the lot. Super clean, super equipped, super lay out and attention to details. Can’t say enough good things about this place. Thanks Debs, we'll be sending a booking request for next year!!.

This house really is on the best location on Silver Lake. The house is expertly constructed and designed, stocked with absolutely everything you would need, and clean. The owner is always available and responsive, providing suggestions, forwarding local event info, and making sure all one's needs are taken care of. Best part - the rental is dog friendly!
