We loved our stay here. The apartment is clean, cozy and is walking distance from the train and shops. I highly recommend it.
Good Location and Nice House
House was very clean and in a great location. About 5-10 minute walk to some great restaurants and the Green Station T. It felt very safe as the area is mostly professional people, though as you get closer to the restaurants the area becomes a little more commercial. The home was located in the first floor of an older building, which all the houses in this area (and mostly in Boston) are older. No central air made for some warm evenings in late July though the AC units in the bedroom cooled down the bedrooms nicely at night. The owners also have portable fans for use and we used them lots. Temperature probably isnt an issue most of the year. There is someone who lives upstairs, though we never saw her (I think it was a young woman) but we did hear her come and go and talking on the balcony above us weekend mornings. Not being used to split level buildings (we live in suburbia back home) it was sort of strange to have upstairs neighbors but all the houses in the area are built the same way and it didn't cause us any concern or troubles but it did make me feel like I had a little less privacy. Grocery stores requires a car to get to (too far to walk) but we enjoyed some good Thai food within walking distance and there are some great parks for the kids and walks in the evenings. One comment I saw earlier with which I agree - the house does seem much darker inside than in the photos even with the shades open. Some brighter bulbs might make it more cheery. I know not everyone likes sunlight, so its just a personal preference.
Lovely home full of character.
House was exactly as described. Beds were comfy, house was clean and well equipped with lots of extras like toiletries.
We especially enjoyed breakfast on the back porch which was nice and peaceful before a busy day in Boston. Convenient location for the T - follow the instructions given by Olive. It was a pleasant walk through a little park. Jamaica Plane was full of charming houses.
Olive was helpful and responded to our queries positively.
We would recommend Boston and this peaceful location.
Perfect in so many ways!
We truly enjoyed our stay at this apartment in Jamaica Plain! It was close to the walking path along the Greenway, the trains, and the great restaurants and shops on South and Centre streets. Parking was usually available in front of the residence. The apartment was very well decorated, clean and comfortable. There were plenty of nice towels and the beds were comfortable. Internet worked great. Back yard and deck were landscaped and private. Olive and Rich were very nice to work with and were responsive with any questions we had.
Great rental in a really nice neighborhood!
We visited Boston in mid May and this property was perfect for our family of 4 adults. We had enough room to relax after a busy day of excursions. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to make a meal. The only problem we had was doing a load of laundry the spin cycle did not work well on the washing machine. Olive was very receptive when I called her about it and she always got back to me with my questions very quickly before our trip. We also met her husband who was friendly and helpful giving us tips. The property is close to the orange line train at Green Street station, which took us every where we wanted to go. We also used the bus which stops a few block away on South Street. There are a lot of really good local restaurants and a beautiful park nearby. Boston is a great city! We would definitely recommend this property.
Just back from an eight night stay at this apartment. It has everything you need and is in a lovely quite area. It takes seven minutes to walk to the T which is a train service that takes you into the city in no time. You can get a ticket for 22 dollars that will let you use the T for the week as often as you like. If we are lucky to go back to Boston again we will stay here. Boston is a beautiful city there is lots to see and do. Eleanor Tobin
