Awesome place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

Located a block from Baxter Avenue, you could not ask for a better location. Apartment is very clean, and well kept. If you are visiting the Highland, I would highly recommend this Apartment.

Quaint and Unique

  • 5 of 5

I had to be in Louisville for a two-month work commitment. The studio was very nice and Sarah was so kind. I have a senior rescue dog, and given I was going to be away so long, I was very happy that I was allowed to bring him along. The community is very dog friendly and most neighbors seem to have at least two. The community was very safe. Being a single woman, I still had no concerns when I had to walk my dog at night. The studio is conveniently located in the Highlands near Baxter and Bardstown Rd. Unique shops, restaurants, lots to explore and lively atmosphere. Yet, when you get back to your place you would never suspect you are so close to so much nite life. You are near absolutely EVERYTHING including the necessities: drugstore, grocer, cleaners, FedX, etc.! There is on-street parking but amazingly there was always a spot right in front of my door everyday. It was very comfortable with TV, Wifi and everything I needed. When I'm back in Louisville, I would enjoy staying there again. Thank you Sarah!

Nice Place!

  • 4 of 5

Comfortable, clean, and convenient pretty much sums it up. We slept well during our week-plus stay, and enjoyed walking up to both Baxter Ave. and Bardstown Road to grab coffee or a meal. We could have used the kitchen to cook more if we'd wanted. No problems with the coffee maker or stove. Really nice old Louisville neighborhood--we felt very safe and loved the general ambiance. Sarah went the extra mile to come over and tutor us on the unfamiliar TV remote. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that the building itself is a bit rough around the edges and needs some outside work. Would definitely stay again!

Nice place for a couple of nights!

  • 4 of 5

This was a good rental. The apartment is in an old house that could use a little updating but its fine for a couple of nights. The bed was comfortable. I would recommend staying here especially due to it's close proximity to the restaurants in the Highlands.

Cozy Christmas!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying in Sarah's charming Highland's studio for 6 days over the Christmas holidays. We have rented VRBO listings throughout the US and Europe because we love to be in actual neighborhoods and experience the local culture. This cozy apartment satisfied on all accounts. We were able to walk absolutely everywhere and especially enjoyed sitting on the front stoop and chatting with neighbors. We felt completely safe at all times and loved that we were close to Bardstown's exciting nightlife and yet had such a quiet home to which to return. I don't normally do this but I feel the need to address some comments made by previous reviewers. The bed and couch were both extremely comfortable. There is a lovely coffee table. The coffeepot is plugged conveniently in on the counter in the kitchen and not on the floor! No, there is not an outlet in the bathroom (I think the building was built in the 1910's!) but there is a huge mirror with a convenient table, mantle and electric outlet in the living room. To find a hotel room near the Highlands with all of the amenities that this apartment provided would cost over twice what Sarah charges! It is clean, comfortable, very quiet and Sarah was extremely receptive to all of my questions both before and during our stay. Yes, it's quirky but that's what it's like to live in the Highlands. We will be back!

Okay place to stay... doesn't live up to the reviews!

  • 2 of 5

I'm not sure the people rating this 5 stars on here stayed at the same place we did! We were not impressed! It technically has a full kitchen, but not one that we felt comfortable cooking in so we ended up eating out for every meal. The bed and couch were very uncomfortable, and the place never really felt "clean." It didn't feel filthy, but didn't feel clean, either. It could use a huge remodel. The toilet is tilty, and the sink is coming apart from the wall. There are no outlets in the bathroom, which makes it tricky for a woman to use a blow dryer, curling iron, flat iron, etc. There were other small things, like that there was no hand soap in the bathroom so we used the kitchen dish soap. We didn't feel like it was worth bothering the owner for that, but we never felt really comfortable staying there. There was a lot of street noise that wasn't blocked out, we ended up turning on apps on our phone to create white noise so we could sleep. The plus sides? It's within walking distance to some nice restaurants and bars, and overall for sightseeing the location is nice. And it technically has a full kitchen if you wanted to cook. When we go back to Louisville we won't be staying here again. The owner is easy to get ahold of, which is a plus, if you're looking for somewhere cheap and not that great to stay that has someone easy to work with. I wouldn't recommend it for more than 2 people to stay, I think it would be very uncomfortable to sleep on the couch that's there!
