For scenic drives and hikes there's gorgeous water falls to visit, foot bridges at Lava Canyon, and Windy Ridge on the east side of Mt St. Helens. The Ape Caves just out of Cougar are also a popular destination for children and adults. In the winter there's a snow park east of Cougar for snow mobiles and cross country skiing.
We had such a wonderful stay in your home. Thank you for being such a great host. We had a fantastic time exploring the area (snowshoeing at Mt. St. Helens and Ape caves) and relaxing at the house (playing games, cooking and puzzling. It's hard to leave!
We thoroughly enjoyed the house and property - very nicely furnished. The instructions to get in were accurate and easy to follow. We will look for an opportunity to return with our family.
We spent a week at Blacktail cottage and loved the location and everything about the home. It is in a quiet and stunningly beautiful environment, close to lakes, small towns and of course a rather impressive volcano. The home is exceptionally well appointed, and has everything needed for a comfortable stay.
The home was perfect for our stay. The layout was great and the house was very clean and in great condition.
Thank you for being so accommodating.
We had a wonderful time. This place was perfect for us. We were so comfortable. Our hosts were so gracious.
What an amazing home! Thank you for blessing our family with this refreshing weekend! The home is elegant and refined, yet totally non stuffy. Plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. The master bedroom and bath was my retreat and treat! Beautifully tucked away and yet not too far from a store. Thank you again for all the thoughtful additions or beautiful amenities!
This was a great home base for a three-day wedding celebration at nearby Anderson Lodge. Close to Mt St Helen's, and numerous lakes and reservoirs. It's obvious the owners - Vickie and Gary - take great pride in caring for the home and ensuring it provides everything you need.We loved sitting on the front porch and the back deck; walking the hilly trails, while picking blackberries; tracking elk; preparing salmon on the gas grill. We'd definitely visit this property again. In fact, if it ever comes on the market, I want to know about it!
