Hang out with family and friends on the front porch in the rockers or try out the ever relaxing porch swing or grill out on the back porch.
As you enter the front door you will be amazed at the attention to detail and thought that went into the design and furnishing to make sure your stay is fun and relaxing. Enjoy the gas fireplace for those chilly nights.
The decor is just what you would expect to find in the Smokey mountains of Western NC. With the leather sofas, the overstuffed reading chairs, fully stocked kitchen, satellite TV's, video library, and videogames, brand new bedding, and so much more. We also have WIFI so bring that laptop.
New comfy posturpedic queen beds and so much more.
At night sit by the open firepit and toast marshmallows or hike the many mountain trails when the sun comes up and breathe that fresh mountain air or just relax in the hot tub or pitch a game or horseshoes. This estate is a little piece of heaven with natural laurels, rhododendrons and even some hard to find wildlife which has been known to visit throughout the year so don't be surprised to see a mamma deer with her twin fawns or a wild turkey.
Conveniently located minutes from Chimney Rock State Park ,Lake Lure, Black Mountain, Asheville, and Hendersonville. Don't forget to visit the landmark cider mill just minutes away and shop the quaint stores of downtown Chimney Rock. Tryon International Equestrian is approximately 35 minutes from cabin. Black Bear Snow Tubing is located about 7 miles from cabin.
We are pet friendly, kid friendly, a true family vacation that will make memories for years to come.
We are the Tennesons we have been coming to this area for over 25 years and we just love the local area, and just decided to purchase a small place where we could escape the Florida heat and also let others enjoy the local area and our little cabin in the woods (just like Grandmas). Please come and enjoy a great place!!
Jeannine Burrell purchased this cabin in 2009
The main reason is that we find it is rural just enough but located just right so we could enjoy the cultural experiences of Asheville, Hendersonville, Black Mountain and Lake Lure.
Peace and Quiet!! The big front porch just rocking or swinging in the early morning or at dusk, just letting the beauty of the Smokey Mountains soak in to my inner soul. The absolute beauty of the estate is just overwhelming, words and pictures just cannot explain it.
Absolutely stunning. Beautiful cabin , has everything you need. Like a little home in heaven. Bring food and a toothbrush and have the time of your life
Grandmas cabin was amazing! This was my first time ever visiting North Carolina and I was not disappointed. The cabin was very clean, well kept, and had everything one could possibly need. On the back porch of the cabin there is a grill which was a huuugeee plus and a hot tub on the front porch which was also a big plus. I love that the cabin is only 9 minutes away from Chimney Rock which is a beautiful place to visit. All the shops near the house are so unique in their own ways and have so many cool things to offer. The amount of land the cabin is on gives you the perfect amount of privacy. There were a couple of trails on the property that I found to be quite pleasing being you can hike in the yard. I loved the time I spent at Grandmas Cabin and would recommend it to anybody. There are so many things to do for anyone at any age. This will definitely not be my last trip to Grandmas Cabin, I will be visiting again as soon a possible.
Just got back from a 7 night stay at Grandmas Cabin and had a wonderful time. The cabin was immaculate and very well stocked. Everything was in the cabin. You could go with your cloths and groceries and never have to leave the cabin for a week if you didn't want to. The property has acres to hike, wifi, tv, hot tub, games, and much more for entertainment. Added bonus: a wheel chair ramp. I will definitely be going back.
Wife and I really enjoyed our 6 night stay at "Grandma's Cabin" . Comfortable furniture , quality linens , kitchen utensils supplied, working hot tub , lots of lights inside and outside, and enjoyed having a fire at the fire-pit area .
Ditto to the other wonderful reviews here . I would like to address a few concerns that I had before booking for motorcycle riders. Driveway is gravel , moderate incline, slight curve & approx. 500 ft long . Wife (on shadow) and I (on goldwing) both ride, it's a little tricky but navigatable . Some experience in the saddle is recommended. Parking & turn around for my midsize pick-up with 12 ft trailer was not an issue, but anything longer will be a snug fit . The riding in the area was fabulous . Forget the "dragon's tail" ...we found 500 miles of back roads around here that are better ! Thank you Jeannine for addressing my concerns before booking . She was a pleasure to deal with ! ......and folks, don't forget your exercise, go climb " Chimney Rock " !!!
Quick responses to questions up front. We had a great time for our first vacation at this cabin. It was private, yet close enough to drive to the attractions. Everything we needed in a home away from home. WiFi was hit and miss, but in the mountains it's not a necessity. Hope to come back again in the fall or winter!
My wife and I stayed in Grandma's Cabin from 5/29 to 6/3 and couldn't have been happier. he cabin was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. It sits on a very private 5 acre lot but is close enough to roadways for easy access. We had a great stay and enjoyed using the grill and hot tub after long days of hiking and sightseeing in the nearby Blue Ridge Mountains, Asheville and Lake Lure. Would definitely stay again!
