About Jeannine Heath

We are the Tennesons we have been coming to this area for over 25 years and we just love the local area, and just decided to purchase a small place where we could escape the Florida heat and also let others enjoy the local area and our little cabin in the woods (just like Grandmas). Please come and enjoy a great place!!

Jeannine Heath purchased this cabin in 2009

Why Jeannine Heath chose Asheville Area

The main reason is that we find it is rural just enough but located just right so we could enjoy the cultural experiences of Asheville, Hendersonville, Black Mountain and Lake Lure.

What makes this cabin unique

Peace and Quiet!! The big front porch just rocking or swinging in the early morning or at dusk, just letting the beauty of the Smokey Mountains soak in to my inner soul. The absolute beauty of the estate is just overwhelming, words and pictures just cannot explain it.

Grandma's Cabin was PERFECT!

  • 5 of 5

Grandma's Cabin was the PERFECT place to stay for my family of 4. This was our first vacation we took with our 5 year old and 10 month old and we could not have picked a better place. As soon as we pulled up our jaws dropped with amazement because of how beautiful this place was. It was perfectly tucked into the side of a mountain with so much privacy. As soon as you walk through the door you feel a sense of comfort like you do when you want into your own house. It was very cozy. We really enjoyed the steamy hot tub that was on the porch. The house was fully stocked with anything you could possible need from laundry detergent to kitchen utensils. All you needed to bring was clothes and food. The locals in town were very laid back and polite. My husband and I loved driving down the winding roads smelling the fresh, crisp apples dangling from the trees. Even when it rained, it was so peaceful as you could hear the raindrops come down from the top of the tall trees. The location could not have been better! There was plenty of shopping places and tourist attractions all in close proximity. If you want a relaxing location for your family, or a romantic get-away with your significant other, or just a peaceful place to yourself, this is the place to do it. We WILL be going back to Grandma's Cabin!

Grandmas Cabin

  • 5 of 5

Grandmas cabin was amazing! This was my first time ever visiting North Carolina and I was not disappointed. The cabin was very clean, well kept, and had everything one could possibly need. On the back porch of the cabin there is a grill which was a huuugeee plus and a hot tub on the front porch which was also a big plus. I love that the cabin is only 9 minutes away from Chimney Rock which is a beautiful place to visit. All the shops near the house are so unique in their own ways and have so many cool things to offer. The amount of land the cabin is on gives you the perfect amount of privacy. There were a couple of trails on the property that I found to be quite pleasing being you can hike in the yard. I loved the time I spent at Grandmas Cabin and would recommend it to anybody. There are so many things to do for anyone at any age. This will definitely not be my last trip to Grandmas Cabin, I will be visiting again as soon a possible.

Grandmas cabin

  • 5 of 5

Just got back from a 7 night stay at Grandmas Cabin and had a wonderful time. The cabin was immaculate and very well stocked. Everything was in the cabin. You could go with your cloths and groceries and never have to leave the cabin for a week if you didn't want to. The property has acres to hike, wifi, tv, hot tub, games, and much more for entertainment. Added bonus: a wheel chair ramp. I will definitely be going back.

Excellent Private Cabin ! (Motorcycleists review also)

  • 5 of 5

Wife and I really enjoyed our 6 night stay at "Grandma's Cabin" . Comfortable furniture , quality linens , kitchen utensils supplied, working hot tub , lots of lights inside and outside, and enjoyed having a fire at the fire-pit area .

Ditto to the other wonderful reviews here . I would like to address a few concerns that I had before booking for motorcycle riders. Driveway is gravel , moderate incline, slight curve & approx. 500 ft long . Wife (on shadow) and I (on goldwing) both ride, it's a little tricky but navigatable . Some experience in the saddle is recommended. Parking & turn around for my midsize pick-up with 12 ft trailer was not an issue, but anything longer will be a snug fit . The riding in the area was fabulous . Forget the "dragon's tail" ...we found 500 miles of back roads around here that are better ! Thank you Jeannine for addressing my concerns before booking . She was a pleasure to deal with ! ......and folks, don't forget your exercise, go climb " Chimney Rock " !!!

Week Away

  • 4 of 5

Quick responses to questions up front. We had a great time for our first vacation at this cabin. It was private, yet close enough to drive to the attractions. Everything we needed in a home away from home. WiFi was hit and miss, but in the mountains it's not a necessity. Hope to come back again in the fall or winter!
