Couldn't be happier!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was great - very clean and stocked with everything we needed, minus a TP shortage which was to be expected with 15 people. Plenty of wood outside for the fireplace. It's a short 10-15 min drive to Northstar Ski Resort and and even shorter drive to the lake at King's Beach.

Kai, who I communicated with, was more than accommodating. Would definitely stay here again, and would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay here.

Thanks again!

Great place to hang out with friends, family and kids

  • 4 of 5

We had a great and comfortable stay (Feb 2016). Its a great place for 3 families (2 adults and 2 kids each), but has adequate room for perhaps 4. The rooms were very comfortable. Two bedrooms have a large king bed. and one bedroom has two queen beds. Kids loved their bedroom with bunk beds. The ping pong table and pool table was a hit with kids and adults respectively. Kids hung out mostly in the entertainment area. Adults loved the living room kitchen and dining area and spent most of the evening hanging out there. The linen were adequate in number. Kitchen was adequate. We had to get used to the electric range (heats slow and cools slow) but it worked out. We found everything we needed in terms of utensils, cutlery, wine glasses etc. Some people may find the mid century look and feel a bit dated but we thought it was homely and made us quite comfortable. The heating took a bit to warm up the entire house but once it was at 70, it stayed there. Would recommend without hesitation as a very friendly and functional place for 6-7 adults and 6-7 young kids.

Our family had a wonderful stay!

  • 5 of 5

This was my first time booking a vacation cabin through VRBO and I am glad I did. I had a very pleasant & stress free experience with the owner, Kai.

I do want to warn others to book their vacation cabin carefully! Please, do not book a cabin without first speaking to the manager/owner. I tried to contact another home owner prior to finding Heidi's Cabin. Though the owner did reply to my emails, she did not answer any of my calls. Also, there were no reviews for her cabin. These were big RED flags for me. I chose Heidi's cabin because there were great reviews and Kai was very responsive through my numerous emails and phone calls.

On to my review of Heidi's Cabin:

Road: The roads were groomed. We had no trouble getting to the cabin even through there was a storm days leading to our stay.

Parking: There were ample parking spaces for 2 cars.

Bedrooms: Very cozy & spacious! We had 14 people (6-adults, 4-mid 20's, 4-teenagers) and we did not feel cramp on bit. There were enough beds for everyone. There was even a futon in the loft that we did not need.

Spacious Loft: The adults had their downstairs living room to play domino while the kids had the upstairs loft to play our board games. The loft also included a ping pong table that converted into a pool table, movies, and board games.

Near-by Attractions/Amenities: Northstar Resort is about 10 minutes away. There is a Safeway not to far from the cabin (7 minutes drive?).

-Bring personal towels. The cabin provides more than enough towels, but I prefer my own towel.

-Bring a hair dryer. I could not find a hair dryer in the cabin.

Overall, my large family really enjoyed our stay at Heidi's cabin as well as the King's Beach area. If we head to Northstar again, we will definitely reserve Heidi's cabin.

Cozy, spacious, and beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

Had a wonderful time at Heidi's Cabin. Perfect for a family vacation, took 5 of our little ones with us and they enjoyed every minute of it! Very beautiful for the winter time to go out and play in the snow. The cabin has everything you need to feel right at home. Can't wait to go back again.
