The Home

The house is a beautiful, new custom log home of 1800 square feet. It was finished by true craftsmen with hand done, artistic touches everywhere. It has 2 bedrooms; a spacious master suite upstairs with a very comfortable king size bed, a spectacular view of the mountains and it's own private deck out the double glass doors. The downstairs bedroom is warm and cozy with a comfy queen size bed and a wonderful view of the meadow.

In springtime the meadow is covered in yellow and purple wildflowers. Everyday you can see deer, fox, bald eagles, sand hill cranes, osprey, great blue herons and other wildlife that frequent the meadow. You may see an elk one morning while enjoying your breakfast on the deck outside. There is also a fold out sofa in the living room that sleeps two and and a fold out futon couch for two and a twin bed in an all purpose room.

There are two full, roomy bathrooms, each with it's own bathtub and shower. The upstairs bath features a cast iron claw foot tub facing a window where you can watch the pine and aspen trees sway in the breeze while you soak. Very relaxing. The downstairs has beautiful cherry wood floors, a roomy modern kitchen, open living and dining room, a pot belly propane stove and a washer/dryer closet.

Just off the living room there is a large screened in porch where you can swing in the hammock, dine outdoors, or just sit and watch the sunsets and the wildlife go by. Out the dining room door is a big redwood deck to sit on if you prefer the sun on your face. It is truly a special place.

About The Owner

Hi there; I am a single 55 year old woman, I am a professional photographic portrait artist and I own my own studio business. My interests include art, travel, oil painting, photography, hiking, horseback riding, cross country skiing, seeing the world and meeting new people. I am extremely responsible and am looking to rent to people who will take care of my little place in paradise as I would take care of theirs. It is possible for me to meet you at the airport and get you situated for your stay.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2005

Why The Owner chose Southwestern Idaho

My Home is located between Brundage Mountain Ski resort, the resort town of McCall, Idaho, (which is right on Payette Lake) , and Tamarack Resort, the first all-season resort permitted in the U. S. in more than 25 years. Both ski resorts feature snow boarding, downhill, as well as Nordic skiing, snow shoeing, cat skiing and plenty of areas for telemark skiing. McCall hosted the Master World Cup of Nordic skiing, with athletes from all over the world participating, during the last week of January 2008. The McCall area is a land of great adventure for outdoor enthusiasts. It is a mountain biker's paradise, has all levels of hiking available, world class 5 whitewater rafting and kayaking on the Payette river, fishing and boating on Payette Lake in McCall and Cascade Lake in Donnelly/Cascade, first class golf courses, an indoor skating rink and wonderful places for rest and relaxation as well. My home is available any season of the year, each season sporting their different activities.

What makes this cabin unique

My home is located in the woods in a serene setting of unspoiled natural beauty. It is peaceful, quiet and sunny with gorgeous mountain views, a sky filled with the brightest of stars at night, and just a five minute walk to the Payette river. A beautiful place in the wilderness, yet only a ten minute drive to downtown McCall or downtown Donnelly. I have good helpful neighbors right nearby but far enough away to give you your privacy. Surrounded by endless scenic areas of Payette and Boise National Forests, crystalline alpine lakes filled with trout, mountain meadows, and in the cold months of the year, a winter wonderland with two downhill and alpine ski resorts.

Clean and cozy cabin, peaceful setting

  • 5 of 5

Spent the weekend in this lovely, rustic cabin in the woods. The cabin itself was very well appointed and had a welcoming feel. There is a large fire pit in the back yard that we enjoyed also. Owner was great to work with, and her directions and instructions were helpful. It's a bit off the beaten path, which is just what we wanted, but still only 10 min. to town. There was a trail to get down to the river, which is only 5 min from the cabin. The setting was trees and meadow, very peaceful.

Secluded And Peaceful

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at the cabin with our dog for a long weekend. It is beautiful and very quite. Claw foot tub was great! Owner was very easy to work with and provided great directions and instructions. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice, quiet, and beautiful place to stay that is far enough away from town but easy to get to in a short period of time.

Beautiful, secluded cabin

  • 5 of 5

A lovely log home for a mountain get-away. The cabin is beautiful and well decorated. It is easy to turn on the utilities. The river is about a 15 minute walk away. No directions to it but we set out on our own and found it easily. I stayed with my grown family and it was a hit with everyone. Nice fire pit outside. It sleeps 7 easily with 6 persons in 3 private rooms. It is a challenge to find. A GPS/Google Maps makes it easy. It is about 10 minutes to McCall.

Owner's Response: So glad you enjoyed my cabin and the property. Everyone loves it. I am going to draw up a map to the river to make it real easy for people to find. It is so beautiful down there. Hope you can stay again sometime.

A Splendid Cabin Nestled in the Serene Woods ~

  • 5 of 5

I stayed five nights along with my friends from out of state and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. There are many activities to do in McCall, although we found ourselves spending most of our time at the cabin as it was so peaceful and comfortable. Upon arriving, you take a short drive on a tiny road through the woods to reach the cabin which was exciting, and as I opened the cabin I found it to be spotless and immaculately kept.

The master bedroom is gorgeous with a little deck connected to the room, and the bathrooms are up-to-date with an iron claw foot bathtub. There are two decks to relax on the main floor. One large open deck and a very special screened in deck which opens to French doors to the main cabin. Very charming. What I was mainly impressed with were the handiwork and detailed decorating in a Native American/ Western, up-to-date furnishings. I can tell the owner takes a lot of pride in the beauty of her property.

The cabin is fairly secluded although there are other cabins nestled in the woods not far away. There is a private trail that you can take a 5-minute walk down to the river and fish. The river setting was ever so peaceful. This was another special entity in renting the cabin.

I would definitely return to this custom cabin as it is a little piece of paradise. My only regret is that I am not the owner!

Great Getaway

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was well furnished and the we enjoyed our stay, 3 adults, 3 kids. We only stayed 2 nights, but enjoyed our time there. McCall is close by. We didn't get to enjoy the firepit or porch as we were short on time. I would recommend this cabin to others. (The only suggestion I have is a TV downstairs in the living area for families to enjoy a movie together.)

Owner's Response: I am so glad you enjoyed your stay. While we decided to keep the home's first level TV free, I hope you were able to enjoy the large screen TV in the upstairs master bedroom. Many thanks for renting my little piece of paradise!

Perfect girls getaway!

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriend came to Boise for a visit and we stayed in this wonderful cabin for a mountain getaway. We planned on spending most of our stay in McCall but after arriving at this perfect location, we just hung out at the river and took long walks around the property. The cabin was a little large for just the two of us, but it was still cozy and we appreciated all the special touches the owner put in to making it special. On our walks along the river, we encountered a couple of fishermen who were having great luck catching trout!
