Favorite walks from Burch Street Casitas...
The little town of Taos is three short blocks. Don't miss the Bent Street shops. A short walk leads to beautiful mountain and meadow views, Taos Plaza, the park, & the historic Taos Inn. And you can't miss the beautiful, almost ancient, giant cottonwoods.
Doc Martin's at the Taos Inn (walking distance). Great atmosphere and food breakfast, lunch or dinner. Try the rich blue corn blueberry pancakes!
The Millicent Rogers Museum (and house). Fabulous house, jewelry, art, and setting.
Santa Fe is a scenic hour and a half away. Fun but we liked to escape the crowds and get back to Taos at the end of the day. (Road can be tricky after dark.)
Sense of Privacy...
The Casitas don't usually have daily 'maid service,' which we preferred. It gave us a wonderful sense of privacy and seclusion. (If you needed something, however, Jim or Nancy would be there in a minute.) The Burch Street Casitas are on our permanent Must-Stay List. Burch Street Casitas comes up on Google.
We are the quintessential Taos business. We love Taos and make it our mission to make your stay the best you ever had. We are chefs by trade and have always been in the hospitality business.
We hope that you will enjoy our Casita's as much as we do!
Jim or Nancy 575-737-9038 live on property purchased this cabin in 2006
First, we love the walking life style of Taos.
Before this we were inn keepers and learned that customers need a lot more than a room.
So Nancy and I built these Casitas because this is exactly what customers were telling us that they look for when going on vacation.
Our customers share our tastes when it comes to this boutique lodging property.
Give us a try you will love it.
We live on property and have lived in Taos for 14 years. So we are excellent reference points for your next adventure! A very nice peaceful retreat in town.
What a nice way to unwind and get away from it all. You can go into town on foot and come back and be in an entirely different place at the Burch Street Casitas.
We are a young couple who had a wonderful stay at Birch St. Casitas! Jim & Nancy are very helpful and personable hosts. There were no hidden fees. The Casitas are clean, cozy, colorful, quiet and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The private patio, fireplace, heated floors and kitchenette made us feel right at home. The location is a very easy walking distance to town to check out the shops, art galleries, museums and restaurants. We walked all over town sharing appetizers & drinks at each restaurant, they all were so good! We recommend checking out the Earthship homes, Rio Grande Gorge Bridge, Taos Pueblos, the Casino, & Ojo Caliente Hot Springs. We already recommended the Casitas to some friends who are visiting Taos soon. We love Taos and will definiely be back to stay at the Birch St. Casitas!
We had a beautiful stay at these lovely Casitas. Jim and Nancy have everything we needed. Great wifi and even netflix. The location is perfect,
easy walking to everything. We will be coming back!
A friend recommended we try a VRBO for our Fall break trip to Taos and, thankfully, we found Birch Street Casitas. Nancy (one of the owners) was very personable. The Casita was extremely well kept and furnished with everything we needed. The walk to the town square was about 5 minutes, but their location provided a nice quiet atmosphere to relax. Excellent local restaurants are a 5-15 minute walk depending on what you are in the mood for. Surrounding attractions are less than a 30 minute drive (Taos Pueblo, Gorge Bridge, Earthships, Ski Valley hiking). Highly recommended place to stay in Taos. We will be back!
We absolutely Loved our Casita!! We would have stayed longer if we could. Nancy and Jim were the perfect hosts and the Casita was Perfect for celebrating an 87th Birthday! The patio out back is tree shaded, a wonderful place for morning coffee or sipping an evening glass of wine. So close to downtown, but secluded and quiet. We found everything we needed included in our charming home. Lots of care went into the design.........Cannot wait to return,,,,,,,,,,,maybe in the fall when the leaves are turning, or the winter to watch the fire burn in the beautiful fireplace?? Great little place to stay.
Burch Street Casitas is the best place to stay and relax in Taos, New Mexico. Having traveled to Taos for years the only place we stay is at Burch Street Casitas because they have all the amenities, charm and character we love.
Just off the main drag and short 3 block walk from the town square, it is in a perfect location and very close to shopping, dining and art galleries.
Jim and Nancy are the most gracious hosts and always go out of their way to make us feel confortable.
All of the casitas are full of original southwestern artwork, rich in their cosmetic character and have a plethora of novels and short story books and have a beautiful relaxing southwestern ambiance. The radiant heated floors kept us warm and the beautifully decorated bathrooms have a spa like feel. Each casita has a king size bed, a kitchen, washer and dryer, a wood desk, flat screen TV with cable, WiFi, a small fireplace, and cozy balcony. I have stayed in all of the casitas, however I love casita C the most because of the artwork and the native Indian weavings.
I love the Burch Street Casitas and already booked my stay for this coming May.
These Casitas are the way to go.Very comfortable beds made for good sleep Everything we needed in the kitchen and firewood was a plus. Close to town and the skiing is great this year.
Burch Street Casitas is hidden away on a beautiful historic Taos street lined with amazing old cottonwoods and Elms creating a beautiful private compound.Nancy and Jim live on property and invite you to Taos! You will love it here !
