Aside from the casual cottage style, there is little rustic about this eclectic 1951 Cape Cod in the quiet old Bryan golf course neighborhood. The cottage facade belies the large interior space which is updated throughout and ready for entertaining or quiet enjoyment for 1 to 10 or more guests. The house is available for game weekends or to host special events with small or larger groups. The Link House is one of the best private accommodations in BCS for comfortable retreats, TAMU events, holidays with family, wedding parties, family reunions, scrapbooking weekends, and more. Available for weekends and holidays only through the school year.
The Link House hosts small intimate groups and larger gatherings equally well. It is ideal for reunions, accommodating out-of-town wedding guests, hosting showers, etc. The living room is spacious and ready for quiet gatherings or table games. The large screen TV and high performance sound system are great for music, electronic gaming, cable TV, or full surround sound for movies on DVD or streaming from the internet.
The house kitchen is open, completely updated and well equipped and stocked for breakfast or gourmet cooking. Serving and table service for 16 or more is available to guests. The kitchen opens over the bar to the Billiard Room for an extended gathering.
The kitchen and guest rooms overlook the large patio and woods outside. You can watch finches, cardinals, jaybirds, mockingbirds, squirrels, hummingbirds, rabbits, dragonflies, and a few surprise visitors feeding and moving about the patio and woods adjacent to the creek on the premises. The fire pit is great for a quiet fire on a cool evening or for grilling or open pit barbecue on game or event days. Outdoor seating is available for large groups.
The Link House is convenient to everything in the BCS area. Shopping centers and many of the best local restaurants and shops are nearby. Chicken Oil, historic Martin’s Barbecue, The Burger House, and Farm Patch are just around the corner. Northgate and Main Street Bryan are a short drive away. Event venues and sports facilities are easily reached and the Bryan Municipal golf course is one block away. Just over one mile down Wellborn or South College you reach the TAMU campus. Blinn College is easily found a short drive up Villa Maria. Convenient transportation to either campus is available through the shuttle service with a stop just one block down the quiet street.
December 23 – 29 2010
We had a great time with family, especially the grandkids. It was a Merry Christmas for us. That’s for sure.
Had trouble with a COLD Master bedroom & confusing light switches, but everything else was GREAT.
Thanks a lot –
James & Darleen O.
From an email in January 2011: We recieved our deposit check. Thank you. We just wanted to thank you again for all the extra things you did for us when we stayed at the Link House. We loved it and you were so gracious and kind to do the decorations, tree, cider and cookies. It was really extra special. Any time we are in need of a home or know anyone that might be coming to the area, we will gladly recommend you to them.
It was a wonderful Christmas for all of us.
3 couples had a great time at the house. Had everything we could have needed. Would recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to stay for game day weekend or a weekend in CS for whatever. Thanks again!
We loved this place for our Texas A&M/Tennessee weekend. The owners were very communicative in advance without us prodding them. On arrival, everything was in order, and the place served as a great venue for the 3 families that shared it. Great bedroom suites with full baths/towels, big den, game room, and ample kitchen provided all of the amenities we needed. The backyard was fabulous as well - plenty of seating and privacy. We had numerous friends over on Friday and Saturday night and it was easy to find and park, and no neighbors to bother. The TV's and internet and surround sound (including backyard) music that we attached to a phone with Spotify.
There is a couple living in the separate garage-area living quarters and they were very friendly, unobtrusive, and helpful when we were trying to figure out the surround sound operations.
We already requested the place for a game weekend next year!
My family rented this home in September 2016 to coincide with celebrating my son's Ring Weekend. It was a perfect 3 night stay. All bedrooms have access to their own bathrooms. Main level bedroom was perfect for grandparents as they did not have to go up and down stairs. This home is well cared for and charming decor. Upon arriving, we found breakfast in the refrigerator and cookies on the table. The cookies were enjoyed this evening by my college son and his friends that stopped by to greet us. We had a gathering for the ring celebration on Saturday and it was the perfect setting. While some gathered in the living area to watch the game, others gathered on the back porch area. The pool table was enjoyed as well. Thank you to the owners for their hospitality and we hope to be back soon! We would definitely rent again.
We enjoyed our stay at the Link House. This house was close to everything we needed for a week of fastpitch softball! The birds in the back yard were fun to watch and what my daughter thought was a cat was a very well fed squirrel. All the lights in the house and around the house were very nice. The couple that just moved in the garage was also very nice. Overall a great place to stay in a home away from home!
My family spent 4 weeks at the Link House. The location is perfect, in the middle of everything. Surprisingly quiet street and backyard. Behind the property is a small stream and wooded area. Sitting in the backyard feels as if you are out in the country. The house is equipped to comfortably host a large group, with multiple seating arrangements for a large meal both inside and outside. I cannot say enough good things about the owner. She was very responsive and supportive. The house was impeccably cleaned and well stocked. The kitchen has more utensils and supplies than my own home. If you want to make a dish the tools are there.
The house and especially the back yard gave us relaxing retreat that we will always remember. The Link House will remain at the top of our list for trips to Bryan!
If you are looking for a place to stay in the area, I can't think of a better option. Really close to the TAMU campus, and also very close to shopping, restaurants, etc in Bryan. The house itself is great. Its situated in a nice quiet neighborhood, the patio is great for grilling, and there are plenty of chairs, tables etc which allowed us to have a nice outdoor get-together. The house is in great shape, the kitchen is really well-stocked with utensils, pots, pans, condiments, coffee, etc. The beds are very comfortable, and the pool table is a nice addition.
The only issue I want to note (definitely NOT a problem, just something to be aware of) is that I had read in some of the materials the owner provided that the garage has been converted into an apartment where students lived. I forgot to tell my wife. She was standing in the kitchen at 11pm, looking out over the back porch, when a young lady walked across the porch! My wife relaxed once she realized that the young lady had a key and was going into the garage. But I just want to make sure that prospective renters are aware when they book the Link House that someone else is living there. The students never interfered with any of our activities or disrupted us in any way. They were very quiet.
Anyway, the Link House is a great place to stay and we will definitely rent it again next time we visit our son in College Station.
The Link House is convenient to the Texas A & M campus, the George H. W. Bush Presidential Library, historic Downtown Bryan, Texas World Speedway, the Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History, Children’s Museum, the Messina Hof Winery and Resort, the Kingsbury Blueberry Farm, Santa's Wonderland, and the Bryan Golf Course. You can use the Link House as a comfortable home base when antique shopping and touring Central Texas attractions such as the Roundtop Antique Festival, the Antique Rose Emporium, the Texas Renaissance Festival, Houston Premium Outlet Mall in Cypress, and the Bluebell Creamery in Brenham.
Golf: The Link House is located just across Villa Maria from the Bryan Municipal Golf Course. This course is available to the public.
