We loved the home from the first time we saw it, The location is beyond beautiful, quiet, secluded and private. The complex offers many amenities and natural beauty as well as a restaurant and a beachside community pool.
We had a great time in this beautiful house. We loved the privacy and appreciated being surrounded by nature in this beautiful- It was a great stay in this beautiful area- We hope to enjoy it another time .
We had an awesome time! The house and its surroundings was everything I expected and more. The property is beautiful, comfortable and every detail aimed to please. From the pool to the private beach, the house, the people and the safety. Definite 10! I'm already looking forward my next visit!
The house and grounds were very nice. The community is secure with gaurds at the gate 24 hours. The 5 minute walk down to the beach is through almond and palm trees and although there are other houses in the development it is hard to see them through the flora so it seems very private. We spent 9 days at the house and only on the weekend did we see other people on the beach so it really is a private experience. The house is split into two levels with 2 bedrooms and a bath at the top of some steps that follow the grade of the propertly. This worked perfectly for us as there were two families in our group and we divided up the bedrooms with one family "upstairs" and the other "downstairs". There is a large dining / living room that opens up to an equally large patio overlooking the pool with glass room length doors. This makes a very large living space that we spent lots of time playing games, dining, and drinking. The pool area has a covered patio area with a table, chairs, hammocks, and a coule of patio reclining chairs that were great for afternoon napping and reading. There is an outdoor shower next to the pool to rinse off the beach sand and cool off if you're getting too warm. You can hear the ocean waves, birds, and other wildlife from the house wich was really nice.
I must say, the pictures in the house description do not do justice to this beautiful vacation home.
For supplies you must stock up on the way. The nearest source of supplies is La Libertad and it is about 45 minutes away so don't forget anything.
Hernan is the groundskeeper who did a terrific job. There were a couple minor issues with the house that he took care of right away and he helped us restock the water each day (you buy it at a little snack stand near the beach). He also made a run to one of the little homefront stores along the road for small items we needed occasionally. Gabby is the housekeeper and she was also great. We had requested to hire a cook to prepare our evening meals and after some initial confusion with Marta, we worked it all out and she took great care of us. Her services come with the house for 3 days per week so we hired her to work her days off.
Gabby and Hernan really made the stay a wonderful experience.
We saw the sites (Coatapeque, Archeological sites, and El Tunco surf beach) among others and really enjoyed our stay.
We just spent four wonderful days in this beautiful home nestled in the lush tropical vegetation. From the moment I got there, I felt a sense of relaxation and true peace. The grounds are kept impeccable and the house is so pretty, with its Spanish style and the very comfortable, inviting rooms. It has all the necessary amenities; Hernan and the staff were so friendly and hard working. The view from the front arched windows is phenomenal, and the walk to the beach is just five minutes...and it is spectacular! It's like having your own private beach! You'll see amazing black sand, and waves that are so much fun for boogie boarding, etc.! The cliffs create an amazing, scenic backdrop that will leave you breathless! My family had so much fun, and I just wish we could have stayed longer in what I will call a wonderful retreat: a beautiful getaway from it all! From the house, you can hear the beautiful sounds of the ocean, and the indigineous birds and wildlife.. We loved seeing all the butterflies in the garden and the hummingbirds fluttering by feeding off the plants! Marta was so accommodating and helpful with all her suggestions on things to do throughout our stay. She has made this such an inviting home that I know I will be back to visit this paradise...next time for longer! I truly recommend this to anyone contemplating a relaxing and beautiful getaway..and the waves in the ocean will bring plenty of fun and excitement.
The scenery will take you aback.
Foodwise, everything I ate was tasty and fresh, with lots of crops and fruit grown locally. There is an eatery within the community which makes great pupusas. We ate a lot of fresh fish from nearby La Libertad...with amazing selections and prices! For nature lovers, you'll see turtle egg hatcheries on the beach.. We witnessed baby turtles being released into the ocean, something my girls will never forget! My husband hiked some of the trails and saw amazing vistas. All in all, I give this a top rating and if you are looking for a tropical vacation, with gorgeous surroundings and not all the tourists, this is the place to go! All the things you may need to enjoy your stay will be found in this beautiful, comfortable, private home; all the details have been thought out. It will be a vacation you'll never forget! I am so happy to have visited, and to have created such wonderful memories. Clara Alber
I just returned from Casa Los Arcos last week. It is set in a beautiful secluded area "Away from it all". I stayed with 2 other friends, that are both very active and for the first time in my life, I saw them both relax...completely. The hammocks are comfy and the layout of the house is very convenient. There is a TV there, but we never once turned it on, as the view from the pool, beach, patio and basically everywhere were better than anything that could have been on the TV. We brought a couple of games with us, and just enjoyed the sounds of nature. Yes, there are bats but seriously...you are in nature and that is what is suppose to happen!! There is a town nearby called El Tunco, which had sufficient nightlife and a low key vibe, filled with mostly surfers. Cute little town. Marta helped us with all of the excursions that we wanted and made sure everything was set up as well as recommending some very excellent restaurants, points to watch the sunset and helped with our rental car and transportation from the airport (our group arrived at different times). The excursion were from 45 minutes to 1.5 hours away and were worth the trip. El Salvador is a beautiful country that has not been taken over by tourism (yet) and that is part of the reason that I enjoyed it so much. The pool at the house was perfect, not too warm but not freezing. We had no problems with the "chemicals" previously mentioned and spent the majority of our time there. They had also arranged for a wonderful woman Silva, to come to give us massages while we were there. There is no doubt that I would visit again. Oh, and the flowers and landscape is beautiful, along the hummingbirds and butterflies that they attract. Our driver Israel and the staff, Gilma and Hernan were very friendly and wonderful. I have been all over CA and I think hiring a driver is well worth it, there is way too much too see to keep your eyes on the road. Despite it being rainy season, the storms were as amazing as the sunshine...they didn't last long, but the lightning was awesome to see. There is also the pier in nearby La Libertad, that you can buy fresh catches, we took advantage of this. (cooking pans etc...were in fine shape and we had to problem with them). Well done Casa Los Arcos on a trip we will never forget! If you are looking for a resort, this is not the place for you, relaxation and quiet, this is the place to be. We cannot wait to come back!!
The house is "nice" but if You are looking for a place "to rest" this is not the place, the beds are hard as a rock, the frogs are so loud , If You don't want a have a bad experience with the bats "you have to have the lights on "always".
The beach is very rough, the swimming pool that is located in front of the beach is in very bad shape, there is not hot water what so ever to take a shower. There is "only one TV ( very small) for the whole house, there is not internet, and the swimming pool in the house is "so full of chemicals " that after 15 min You want to get out of there!!! Your eyes hurt!!!
If You want to go to a nice restaurant, You have to drive at least 45 min of very dangerous curves road.
We hired Gilma for cooking and She was great whick made our experience a little better in this place. But talking about cooking, the pots and pans are in such a bad shape, that ruined our "expensive fish we got at the pier !!
Is really not worth to pay that amount of money.
We were really happy with the beach house! The house itself is located in a tropical forest of almond trees, about 150 meters from the beach. Architecturally designed, the house was both comfortable and provided pleasant views of the surrounding area. The staff was amazing, providing wonderful service. We will definitely return again!
