We are a mixed French/American family with 3 boys. We started renting our first Parisian property in 2005 in the 3rd arrondissement. We enjoy it and got this property in 2008. I have worked in hotel development and real estate fund management. I am passionate about both Paris real estate and hospitality. So I left my fund management job to focus on providing visitors to Paris with great apartments. In addition, I can spend more quality time with my young children. – Valerie
The Owner purchased this studio in 2008
We acquired this studio 2 years ago because we enjoy living ourselves in this neighborhood of the 7th arrondissement. It is lively, central, safe and convenient. It is right next to the rue Cler shopping street that is like a trip back in time when small specialty stores were the primary way people shopped. We figured that it would be an interesting place to stay for visitors who want to discover Paris.
Beyond all the things you would discover in Paris, a bottle of wine will be waiting for you that I modestly would like you to discover. It comes from the winery managed by my brother, Chateau Loirac, which is an up-and-coming Bordeaux Medoc that is winning prizes and is one of our personal favorite wines.
Great place! Location perfect. Very comfortable. Use 69 bus instead of Metro - when it suits. Museum card great for quickest entry to museums. Great time! Love to come back!
We loved our stay in this wonderful apartment in Paris! Clean and well maintained. Don't let the pullout bed scare you--it was very comfortable. The location is the best---we walked everywhere at first, and then discovered the Velib Bike system. Highly recommend it! It's an inexpensive way to use bikes--and with a map, we ruled Paris! Registration is simple online, and you can pick up and leave bikes everywhere. David was wonderful, and with his clear instructions we used the washing machine--a godsend as we were in Europe five weeks. Can't say enough good about this place. We'll stay here again when we return.
We recently spent 5 nights in your property. It was a perfect location for exploring all that Paris has to offer with our two kiddos. The apartment was well equipped which included a washer/dryer and even a step stool for our littles ones to reach the bathroom sink. :)
Rue Cler was a wonderful place to spend the evening after a great day of sightseeing.
We all had a terrific time and will cherish our memories of the City of Light.
Many thanks to Valerie, David and Rosa. Everyone was super helpful!
We had such a wonderful experience staying there the first time, that I booked again and was not disappointed. David met us at the apartment and reviewed the workings of appliances etc.(Thanks David). Valerie provided a welcoming bottle of wine and email to make sure we settled in okay. (Thank you, Valerie). The place is small, but functional. It is walking distance to monuments and museums. It is also (within 2 blocks) centrally located between 2 metro stations. We were there during Euro 2016 and got caught up in the enthusiasm. The Pub below would play the games there and became quite the party atmosphere. We could either close the windows for quiet or open and enjoy the fun and excitement. We chose to keep them open. Great fun! Rue Cler has all of your needs for food,, if you wish to cook, or bring home delicious ready made meals. The area also has some wonderful restaurants. Check out Casa Milano across the street from the apartment. Not only great Italian food, but they make an exceptional burger. All in all another great experience. Thank you Valerie for the use of the apartment. I hope to return to this beautiful city soon and would be happy to rent it again.
We loved the apartment, its the perfect place to stay if you just want a place to sleep and night and relax for a couple hours here and there. Its small, but very clean and has all the essential amenities.
If you're a foodie, then you won't have to go far for some of the best restaurants in the city... Reed was our favorite.
Overall, the experience was very easy with someone meeting us at the apartment and explaining how everything worked.
We spent 10 nights in the apartment. Rosa met us there when we arrived and showed us how to work things in the apartment. The location is perfect, right around the corner from Rue Cler, where we could get virtually anything we needed for our meals. We would stop at a bakery on our way back from our day's adventures to pick up quiche and pastry for the next morning, and pick up prepared dishes for our dinners. Many great and not pricey restaurants nearby also. If you want to cook you have the basics in the kitchen.
We had a problem with internet/TV reception for the first few days but Rosa kept on it with the cable company and soon it was all fixed! Thanks Rosa!
We would have a leisurely morning and then set out for a different area each day, going by Metro. There are 2 Metros very close by. Eiffel Tower is an easy walk and you can see the top from the apartment, so we would look out each evening to see the light show, if we didn't walk over to see it. We did a lot of walking each day and it kept the weight off as we had wonderful meals.
Look at the site Paris Walks.com, they have English speaking guides. We did the Chocolate Walk, and had a great experience learning about French chocolates and sampling with a terrific guide.
I think that the apartment would be best for 2 people, and would be a bit tight with more than that.
Make sure you pay good attention when getting instructed about how the combo washer/dryer works. It's complicated and we never really figured it out.
All in all, the apartment was comfortable, clean, and convenient for our needs, and we would definitely reserve with Valerie again.
The location of this property is quite good - just between the Eiffel Tower and Les Invalides. It was clean and had everything we needed (including hairdryer, stocked kitchen, umbrellas, ironing board, and more; very convenient). The picture of the apartment is maybe a little bit old; for instance, the art on the wall of the apartment is now very faded compared to the picture and there is some damage to the laminate flooring in the center of the room. But the apartment is still quite nice. The kitchen appliances were all new and worked great. The windows were new too. Very nice ones that are able to open or tilt depending on what you want.
Our family of 4 (two tween-age kids) stayed 7 nights at the property. It was cozy, but we enjoyed the time together. We cooked dinner there nearly every night. With the beds unfolded and suitcases for 4, there was not much room to walk around the apartment; we only unfolded the beds at night and we put them back in sofa seating each morning. Not much trouble. Lots of storage space in the cubbies around the TV (we never used the TV). We did call the US from the phone - great feature to have free international calls. It was also very reassuring to have a land-line phone in the apartment; a lot of rentals don't offer that feature - truly worth having.
The property manager was very responsive & nice (David); he met us at the apartment to check in. Valerie & David were flexible with our arrival time. We did arrive at the apartment to find the glass in the door to the front of the building broken out. That was quite an unsettling way to start our stay, but we had not problems (apparently there had been a power failure & someone busted out the glass b/c they couldn't use the electronic key pad to get in to the building. There is another key only secured door just past the main door). David was very responsive. Valerie was a bit slow to refund our deposit, but she didn't charge us a transaction fee.
Other reviews mention a bar downstairs; I'm happy to report that the bar went out of business & was not open during our stay. We were concerned about street noise before we went because of that bar, but it was very, very quiet. Two of the popular Paris bike tours come by every afternoon around 2-3 pm (we went on the Fat Tire Bike Tours ourselves - really great fun!). This neighborhood is so nice, that one of the tours stops for ice cream in the shopping area next to the apartment every day on their way to the Eiffel tower.
