About the property

2 Bedrooms, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 4-5

The guest house has been recently renovated throughout and newly furnished. Several antique pieces give the home a historic flavor. A large yard with beautiful landscaping and gardens create a very peaceful setting, making meals on the deck most enjoyable. A hammock or bench provide a lazy place for a book or a nap.

Located in a country setting just minutes from Middletown's miles of beaches (both surf and calm water). Your vacation could include bicycle rides on country roads passing vineyards, farmstands, beaches or a National Wildlife Refuge. Hiking is close by at the shore or in wildlife sanctuaries. Tennis courts and a walking track are directly across the street from your door.

Great location; great place

  • 5 of 5

The place was even better in person than in the pictures. The floorplan is great for families with small children, or anyone else, for that matter. The yard is expansive and beautifully landscaped. My kids loved the tree swing in the front yard. The location is ideal: track and playground across the street; Sweet Berry Farm a few miles away; great restaurants right in Middletown; minutes to the beaches. Jack and Deb are wonderful hosts: they were around, but we definitely felt that we had our privacy. We plan to make this a yearly rental!

Perfect For Young Families!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second year renting with Jack and Deb and we couldn't be happier with the house! It was the perfect size for our family (two children, ages 7 and 4). It's an easy drive to all of the beaches as well as downtown Newport. The best part for us is that it is within walking distance to a Dunkin Donuts, Burger Joint (Bossmann Bugers) and the Frostee Freeze, as well as the playground at the school (there's also a track there that you can walk on). The master bedroom is very spacious and has a huge TV, and the second bedroom was the perfect space for our two children. It has two twin beds and a small TV. We love the backyard where the kids can run around while we grill or have a drink on the deck. The rental is attached to a larger house where Deb and Jack reside, but we felt like we had plenty of privacy. We've added a third child to our family, and plan on coming back for another beach vacation in 2016!

Another Tremendous Stay

  • 5 of 5

My husband surprised me for my 50th birthday/Mother's Day Weekend. Having been here before, I was thrilled! It is always like "coming home" when I walk through the door! The only disappointing thing was that I only got to stay for a short weekend instead of a whole week. There is always so much to do there! As always, it was immaculate, cozy and comfortable, and Jack & Deb even surprised me with a beautiful plant for Mother's Day, along with their continued warm and welcoming hospitality as they always provide!! I highly recommend vacationing here! You definitely won't regret it and a weekend is definitely not nearly enough!!!

Wonderful / Séjour parfait

  • 5 of 5

Thank you Deb & Jack,

for allowing us to share your wonderful surroundings. Never have we seen a better furnished and equipped cottage. Nice people, nice neighborhood and nice weather. We loved the beach and all the little attentions, newapaper, beach chairs, etc. Thanks a million.

Cette maison est un jardin où il fait bon revenir après la plage et les excursions à Newport. Très bien équipée pour les amateurs de cuisine. Les propriétaires sont accueillants. Nous avons été ravis par notre séjour.

Can't wait to go back

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here with my family in June and want to book again for the fall. The place is perfect-immaculate, quiet, yet close to beaches and Newport. I can't wait to have dinner again on the private deck overlooking the beautiful backyard. The house even comes with a pass to a lovely private beach nearby. Jack and Deb were really helpful with restaurant recommendations and directions. Looking forward to being there in the fall!

Peace and quiet!

  • 5 of 5

My husband treated me to a wonderful birthday present which was a relaxing, lovely stay at this house. Loved the layout and the calm serenity of the place, particularly enjoying the deck for reading and simply being a "lady of leisure"! I found the listing to be accurate regarding the layout and amenities. Deb and Jack were more than accommodating and helpful. Not only would I recommend this to a friend, we can't wait to return in the summer of 2014!
