This elegant property has it all. A perfect summer or holiday home complete with wood burning fireplaces, beautiful colors and vistas that go on forever. Feel the serenity all the way to your bones when you stay at our family vineyard property. From the moment the gates open to welcome you into the drive behind the walls, you'll find the perfect combination of Napa Valley luxury and comfort. With spaces designed for coming together and for solitude, you can craft your stay to suit your family's needs. After a hike in the hills or a walk to a winery, return for a glass of wine by the fire or a swim in the pool. As the sun dips below the mountains, sit on one of the decks to gaze over the vineyards and delight in the changing colors of the sky. Gather on one of several decks to enjoy a glass of wine before moving to the dining room, which can comfortably seat 12, for a delicious meal, prepared in the state-of-the-art chef's kitchen, either by you or a private chef. After dinner retire to the library for a brandy in front of the fire or to watch a movie.
The next morning, plan you day in the valley as you sit on a deck or balcony with your coffee listening to sound of birdsong, contemplating the vistas of the vineyards and mountains, and enjoying the pines and old oak trees. There are several wineries in walking distance.

Kathye Citron purchased this house in 2000
We purchased the property for the vistas and views. It had an old farm house, garage, stable and hen house, and lots of weeds. It was truly a project of love to develop the property.
We began by planting our Petit Syrah vineyard in 2000. Next we took down the stable and hen house and built a two bedroom, two bath (1000 sq') guest house. We moved into the guest house and donated the old farm house to our local volunteer fire departments for training. They couldn't burn it down because of the beautiful old old trees shading it, but they did train new volunteers on things like cutting holes in a roof during a fire. It was fascinating to watch.
After tearing down the farm house, we began construction on the 3800+ sq' main house in 2004. Our goal was to have a farm house that blended well into the country atmosphere on the outside, but was exquisite and sophisticated on the inside. We think we achieved our goal. We moved in January 2006. The pool, landscaping, wall, fencing took another year, and we still have a few things we'd like to do. Finally, we turned part (400 sq') of the garage into the 'guys' space with pool table, etc. We find women are very good pool players too!
Perhaps the best part of all, is that every window and door looks out to something beautiful. There are many different species of birds that return every year. Butterflies, and hummingbirds love the colorful flowers.
We have lived in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco most of our lives so seeing a clear night sky is both stunning and a celebration.
We pick our herbs and many vegetables from our raised beds. We pick seasonal fruits from our fruit trees, and best of all, we raise a glass of wine from our own grapes to toast the beauty at sunset every night.
The beauty of the vistas across the valley floor is breathtaking.
The ever changing light on the mountains to the west, north and east makes the property an artist's dream. Even though we are on flat land and can look across the valley floor, it feels like we are surrounded by mountains. As one travels north in Napa Valley, the mountain ranges on each side get closer and, we think, more beautiful.
More practical benefits include both a steam bath and dry sauna, many wood burning fireplaces, including one outdoors and a kitchen in which any chef would have fun.
I am finally pulling together photos, etc., from our OVER THE TOP AMAZING trip to Chez Citron and Napa Valley! Could you please forward you address to me so I can send you a little something I think you might enjoy? :)
We cannot express how incredible our trip was to Napa, and there was nothing better than coming back in the evenings to your "palace". We enjoyed every aspect of your home, from the fire place to the kitchen, to the pool and vineyards. We just cant say enough good things about it all.
Thank you so much for opening your home to us, we hope to be welcomed back on our future trips to Napa Valley.
We so enjoyed this magnificently decorated home in Calistoga (northern Napa valley) and having the opportunity to pick 2 tons of petit syrah grapes one morning in our own backyard with a local vintor was icing on the cake! Our group of four adult couples found the property so comfortable and inviting that our usually "constantly on the go" eight-some seemed to enjoy just relaxing and spending time around the house and pool more so than during any of our previous worldwide vacations. Each bedroom has its own in-suite bathroom and the gathering areas (living room, patio deck, and pool area) easily accommodated our party. We even cooked in two evenings and found the kitchen to be amazingly stocked with every utensil and gadget one would ever need! I hope we put everything back in the right place - LOL!
The location of the home is convenient to many of the wine tasting rooms, small town shopping areas, and outdoor activities within Napa Valley. Even with the crowds accompanying "the Crush season" we never felt inconvenienced. We hiked Bald Mountain Trail and to the peak of Robert Louis Stevenson/Mount St Helena trail for some amazing views of the valley and some in our group rented bikes in Calistoga and tooled around the neighborhoods.
All in all, I think our group would come back to this home annually given the opportunity and maybe when it's my turn to select the destination spot again in a couple of years we may do just that!
p.s. The owner Kathye was super, super nice to work with and all communications were promptly replied to.
We loved our trip with our adult kids - the grounds, guest house, main house and especially the luxury appointments in the home were very special. The well stocked professional kitchen and outdoor dining areas were great for our 'foodie' family and we cooked most nights and sat outdoors enjoying our wine purchases for the day.
What was especially wonderful was the hospitality feeling that the house has. This is the owners primary residence and the feeling of sharing this space was present throughout our stay. The well stocked kitchen, the beautiful library, the herb garden, the gorgeous vineyard, the outdoor fires, the exceptional coffee machine, the high test wine glasses - these were all appointments that made us feel that we were guests in someone's home.
Our only loss was not meeting Kathye and Ron personally - their home is obviously an extension of their personalities, taste and values. Thank you for an amazing experience. Bruce and Colleen and Family
Our family includes adult children and our daughter-in-law; everyone loves to cook, enjoy wine and spend long evenings cooking and dining. This was the perfect setting including a beautiful, well stocked professional kitchen that had every utensil, wine glass, spice, piece of kitchen equipment, and pots and pans. We toured wineries all day, had a great lunch out, and then shopped for our gourmet dinners and enjoyed our wine purchases of the day.
The guest house was perfect for our kids - they had privacy, a luxury setting near the pool, and a beautiful vineyard as their view.
This house has a wonderful feeling of luxury including a master bed/bath setting that is outstanding. The soaking pool, the steam room and the wonderful balcony off the Master is lovely.
We also found the property very private, secure and spacious, as well as conveniently located to the wineries that we visited.
We loved this beautiful, well appointed and well stocked home. Thanks to the owners for the special care and attention they give their vacation families!
Outstanding. Better than advertised. Pictures simply cannot do it justice. We were four couples from St. Louis and could not have been happier with the property, location and owners. Very spacious and serene. It was as if we had miles of vineyards around us with a beautiful view of the surrounding hills and sunset while enjoying the outoddr patio and fireplace. Cannot wait to return.
Spent five super relaxing days at this immaculate property with all the comforts of home and then some. The owners were a pleasure to deal with and made for a trouble free stay.
We were four couples who enjoyed our mornings out wine tasting in the exceptional Napa Valley wineries (ROMBAUER - a fave) and afternoons tasting the wine by the pool or in front of the lovely outdoor fireplace. We ate like kings and queens in the dining room with the French doors wide open to let in the beautiful outdoors. Every night we revelled in another 'perfect' sunset and star gazed (everyone now knows how to find the little dipper!)
P.S. The 'boys' loved the pool table.
We stayed at this beautiful home after the holidays. The gourmet kitchen is amazing, grounds are beautiful and the location is perfect for wine tasting - right off Silverado Trail. We will definitely be going back. Was the perfect get-away!
