Located in historic Waddington alley in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia you will find my beautiful loft at Morley's Soda Factory, a Heritage conversion by local builder Chris LeFaivre. I was lucky to get my hands on this place as he was planning on keeping it and I was in the right place at the right time and snapped it up when he decided to let it go. As it is on the backside of this 1886 soda factory, it is incredibly quiet and feels quite open due to the high ceilings and walk-out private patio in the hidden courtyard. Most of the decor in the unit is fairly modern and all of it is quite high end, it has concrete floors and carpet upstairs in the loft. The kitchen is equipped with just about everything the chef needs, with granite counters and a dishwasher. The four piece bath has shower / soaker tub, towels and soap and in the living room the sofa pulls out into a bed,

The unit is amazingly quiet for being in the centre of downtown's hustle and bustle and within walking distance of just about everything the city has to offer. There is a secure parking garage ( Bastion square ) across Yates street where for a small fee you can park your vehicle.

Whether it is the Lojo shopping district, the world famous inner harbour, the city's finest restaurants or Victoria's nightlife you will find it within seconds of your door step. The sea plane terminal is less than a five minute walk away and is where you can catch a thirty minute flight to downtown Vancouver or to the south terminal at Vancouver international airport.

I can guarantee this is one of the most unique, vacations rentals you will find in Victoria. I have put a lot of love into it and I am sure you will enjoy your stay.

You have it all at my Waddington flat, you are steps away from some of the city's best restaurants and hippest nightclubs yet while in the suite it is perfectly quiet and you really have no idea that you are in the heart of downtown. The unit features a massive garden patio that you would maybe expect in something in the suburbs but you are maybe a hundred and fifty feet from the inner harbour. If you could see through the back wall of the courtyard you would be looking into Ill Terrazo which is consistently rated as one of the top restaurants in the city.

Great place with wonderful location for visiting Victoria.

We spent one month here without a car and we were able to walk just about anyplace. While there were a few things that needed to be dealt with, for example: getting cable to work for TV, the owner was very attentive to our needs and made sure to deal with them quickly and effectively. We would happily stay here again, and probably will, in order to visit family members who live nearby. This is a unique and charming property.

Swanky place, perfect location!

My wife and I decided to stay in Victoria for the New Year's festivities, and found John's place here on VRBO. Since we have a big old black Labrador, we were also looking for a place that would be comfortable for our low-maintenance dog. The Soda Factory loft was perfect! This building really is a historic treasure, within easy walking distance of everything in downtown. One block from Chinatown, a couple of blocks from The Empress, less than a block from the water... the location simply can't be beat.

Inside the loft, the bed was AMAZING. It was bigger than any bed I have ever slept in, and also isolated your movement from your partner. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to entertain (which we did!), and the fixtures and furniture are right out of Architectural Digest.

Despite a little confusion on our arrival date (which turned out to be my fault!), John was happy, helpful, and friendly. We even ran into him walking down the street a few days later.

This is a great space, well located, and the parking garage across the street turned out to be easy and relatively cheap ($14 for all day), so parking wasn't a problem either. We will definitely be coming back to stay here again!

Perfect stay in Victoria

My husband and I stayed in the loft from Oct 30- Nov 04. We were on a romantic getaway (re: no kids) and just wanted to unwind and have fun. This property was one of the hilights of the trip! The location is amazing, all the best restaurants are located within walking distance. Ferris, a great happy hour spot, is right around the corner. It's also about ½ block away from the water.

The place itself is stunning. The pictures on the site are beautiful, but don't do it justice. High ceilings, fully equipped kitchen, amazing art, super comfortable bed, and it was spotlessly clean! The patio is pretty great, we braved some light rain just to have a glass of wine and enjoy the setup outside.

John was quick to respond to all my questions and very helpful with places to eat and things to do once we got there.

We will defiantly be back! May even drag out daughter along next time as the couch has a pullout bed.

My husband and I loved the condo -- we spent Thanksgiving weekend in Victoria and it is a PERFCT location - right downtown so we could walk everywhere -- and no noise from outside, which we were very pleased about. Very well appointed with everything you need - bed was unbelievable. We did eat out a lot but the kitchen was well equipped to meet all needs. The outdoor space was lovely although sadly, the weather didn't cooperate for us to be outside too much. My only suggestion would be to have some basic spices and condiments available for guests to use. We did have to get some things that we left in the condo (coffee filters was one). Otherwise, it was a lovely space that we would definitely use again.

Well situated for exploring the City on foot.

Good size and well equipped for two. Check-in went smoothly with host waiting in the unit. Private outdoor terrace a bonus. Be aware that weekend nightlife can be a bit noisey including some tromping up and down the stairs adjacent to the unit.
