About Jordan Montoya

Michael and Sharon O'Neil along with their middle son Kevin O'Neil bought the properties in 2005 to enjoy the beautiful town of Breckenridge and share their lovely homes with the public. The O'Neil family has lived in Colorado for most of their lives. Each of Mike and Sharon's four kids (now adults) attended Fountain Ft. Carson High School. Mike and Sharon now live in Fountain, Colorado next door to their daughter Kelli and minutes away from all of their close-knit family.

Why Jordan Montoya chose Breckenridge Area

We fell in love with The Eaglesnest Lodge because it is such a beautiful house in the heart of downtown Breckenridge. The best part of the location is that we do not need a car to get around town, to the ski slopes, to the shopping and dining areas, and to any of the nearby towns because of the complimentary shuttle service that has a stop a few steps from our front door. Our family has enjoyed vacationing in the area for most of our lives and we decided to buy a house since we were up there so often. The Eaglesnest Lodge and Cottage began as a place for us to share with family and friends. After our first few family reunions and family ski trips, we decided that the property was too wonderful to keep to ourselves and chose to rent them out as vacation homes. This allows us to share our beautiful homes with the public to enjoy with their families and friends as well. We hope you love our houses as much as we do!

What makes this lodge unique

The central location of The Lodge allows guests to walk to any of the fine dining and shopping centers on Main Street in Breckenridge. The grocery/liquor store and post office is only a block away. If you want to get to the slopes or further away locations, there is a free shuttle that stops just a few steps away from the front door. You won't have to use your car for your entire stay! The Eaglesnest Lodge and Cottage also have a private parking lot reserved only for our renters.

Does the Property Management really exist?

  • 2 of 5

This location was ideal. Just a few blocks off Main St. and walkable to everything. Parking was great and very easy to load/unload. I'm giving this property a lower rating SOLELY because of my experience with the property management company.

The Good:

Suites all provide the basic necessities, are clean, nice, and get the job done - especially for the price. They are small. Recommend couples only for all suites. Maybe one couch sleeper. Bathrooms are small, which probably explains the lack of pictures.

The Bad:

We showed after hours and had a heck of a time getting into the main door which accesses all units. The electronic door lock is broken. We used the secondary lock in a lock box and even getting into that lock box took forever. In the hallway, are sets of lock boxes for each unit. Two of the lock boxes were open with keys missing. Suite 1 was our assigned suite, and there was no key in the box?? Confused, my husband sat re-reading the check-in instructions. I took a look down the hall and noticed ALL THREE suite doors were wide open. I walked into suite one (our suite) and there were dirty sheets and towels everywhere. Clearly, the cleaning crew had not finished the job. It also had a pretty bad smell to it. Suite two/three were made up and ready for a stay. We tried calling the property management provided on the check-in sheet and received no answer. Not even a 24 hr hotline. I even tried VRBO to find any other number to call - nothing. We left a message with the property management explaining the situation and decided to stay in suite 1. We were terrified all night that someone else renting the property would come in to the suite they actually paid for.

The UGLY:

The next day we NEVER heard back from property management. I called three times throughout the day (this was Wednesday). The information page inside the suites stated there was an emergency 24-hour line to call. We never found this number. Thank GOD we didn't actually have an emergency. We'd probably end up in the hotel down the street. All suites - including the main lodge upstairs (which is absolutely stunning) remained unlocked throughout our entire stay. The doors leading to the back of the house where the jacuzzi is located were also left unsecure.

I would not recommend staying in any property managed by the property management company. I waited this long to comment in fear I wouldn't get my deposit back.

Great location, great price!

  • 5 of 5

This rental was the perfect location for a quick weekend in Breck. We had suites 2 & 3 and they were exactly as described. 2 is a 1 bedroom with a small kitchenette and suite 3 is a 2 room suite with a kitchenette, sofa and dining table. The size was just right. Both units were clean and well maintained. The location was perfect. Andrew great to work with. This is not a luxury resort but if you need a place to rest, grab a quick bite and enjoy your weekend this place fits the bill. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Great Location, Quite Comfortable and Cozy!!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in Suite One and found it quite comfortable and cozy. It had a private entrance, a roomy bedroom and the kitchen was well stocked. It was modern, clean and well maintained. We particularly enjoyed the close proximity to Main Street, and we also took advantage of the free shuttle which stops nearby. Sharon was easy to work with and the price was right! We plan on returning for future skiing trips in the winter and great family times in the summer. This is now our favorite place to stay in Breckenridge.

Great time in Breck!!!

  • 5 of 5

My kids and I (dad) wanted to spend quality time away from the Houston traffic and daily routine and had been planning to go snow skiing for the longest time. We were very fortunate to find this property and all I can say is that we hit the jackpot in terms of amenities, cost and location. The home was properly furnished with all the appliances we needed, a nice kitchen, the condo was very clean, and the owner was the nicest and sweetest of all home owners. The owner was the kindest in letting us use the sleds and hot tub. The free shuttle was just steps away from the condo. I will definitely take my kids back to Breckenridge and do hope we find availability next time we go.

Good location, but you get what you pay for...

  • 3 of 5

We visited Breckenridge during Labor Day weekend 2011. Booked one of the 1-bedrm suites in this home because we wanted something inexpensive with an outdoor hot tub that was walking distance to everything.

Pros: Location. Comfy sofa, decent bed, nice kitchenette, wireless internet, and flat panel tv with comcast digital.

Cons: The bedroom we occupied didn't have a dresser or much clothing storage. Wished there was a luggage rack. Dog hair on the sofa & blanket. Bathroom doesn't have a fan and is uncomfortably close to the kitchenette. Lots of noise from upstairs (there must have been a family of 4 breaking in their ski boots while moving furniture at 7am).

OVERALL: good value, but at the end of the day I would have rather paid $20 more per night for something else.
