This is a fantastically well-situated, brilliantly-furnished house in the heart of the HOLLYWOOD HILLS with a HUGE DECK AND KILLER VIEWS!!!!!
There's everything here from scrabble and ping pong to a brand new gas BBQ to a heated pool with security fence (removable). There are four bedrooms - one with a king size bed and three with queen size beds, three bathrooms plus a huge living room for entertaining that flows seamlessly into the open-plan kitchen/seating area.... a separate dining table for formal dining and several tables outside for eating/drinking.
It's five minutes down Laurel Canyon to Sunset Boulevard and West Hollywood. A few minutes further on and you're in Beverly Hills. Have a drink or a meal at the POLO LOUNGE or head down Rodeo Drive. Right there are Barney's Nieman Marcus and Saks.
And if you stay on Sunset Boulevard you'll end up at Pacific Coast Highway. To the left is Santa Monica - beaches, shopping, dining and the THIRD STREET PROMENADE. But if you turn right you will get to Malibu in ten minutes.

Drive a few minutes down Ventura Blvd and you'll come across both Universal Studios and Warner on to historic Downtown and Disney Hall, Union Station, colorful Olvera Street and Chinatown.

About Lyndall
I bought this house 8 years ago for two simple reasons - a massive living room with floor to ceiling sliding glass doors and the AMAZING PANORAMIC VIEW! The house actually needed a ton of work and a much larger deck and after nearly a year of renovating (I am an interior decorator) I finally got permission to extend the deck right out. The house is perfect now with concrete floors on the lower level--but fully carpeted in all four bedrooms on the upper level. There's a big kitchen with its own built-in sofa and breakfast booth plus a big flat screen TV. There's a cactus/native plant garden in the front quintessential laid-back California living in the Hollywood Hills. But cozy in winter with a big slate fireplace. Why Lyndall chose Hollywood Hills
It's incredibly central - but high enough in the hills to share the same magnificent views as Jack Nicholson and Warren Beatty down the road on the famed Mulholland Drive. A few minutes away and you're on Sunset Blvd in the heart of Hollywood. There are also great hikes just moments away - name it. It's a location that's hard to beat in my opinion.
What makes this House unique
Great weather, great privacy---it's close to anything you want to see or do in Los Angeles. Three minutes away is the Canyon Country Store which delivers-but another two minutes down the hill and you're on HOLLYWOOD BOULEVARD. Just a mile to the left is Graumann's Chinese Theater and the Hollywood Highland cinema/mall complex. Two hundred yards further down and straight ahead is SUNSET BOULEVARD and a Trader Jo's, more cinemas and a Wolfgang Puck restaurant. Take a right on Sunset and you're instantly at the famed Chateau Marmont Hotel's outdoor dining patio...Keep going and you hit Sunset Plaza for shopping/dining and five minutes further down Sunset and you're at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

Fantastic find!!
I just loved the deck outside where we could all lounge around in the sun! The bedrooms are spacious and off to the side , the living room is huge and perfect for having guests around. The view is incredible and I would recommend this place to people traveling and wanting a true Hollywood experience in the hills, also I imagine great for kids as so many bedrooms. Lyndall was a fantastic host and really made us feel welcome and at home and helpful even though we were fine as soon as we walked in
Great Stay on Mulholland Drive!
The house is fabulous, with stunning views of the valley and an enormous central room for entertaining! We enjoyed the cook's kitchen (with a center island) and, while there for a trip entertaining clients, had divine dinner parties, day and night. Particularly nice the way the house flows, inside and out, with so many well-appointed spots to sit, either alone or in small groups. The bedrooms are off to the side of the entertaining area, so the kids slept peacefully and were unbothered by any noise. Fabulous experience and can't wait to return to Mulholland Terrace!
Best place for a true Hollywood Experience!!
I stayed at this house a few months ago with my family and a couple of friends. There are so many reasons why we're returning soon and have been counting the minutes till then. To name a few, the fact that the house is so big makes it very comfortable for every guest without feeling cramped up inside. The incredible views can be enjoyed from almost every room in the house. The state of the art kitchen almost makes you not want to discover any restaurants in LA. As a matter of fact we almost didn't go out during our vacation because once you arrive you literally never want to leave.
We woke up everyday, cooked breakfast, and went straight to the pool and oversized deck with spectacular city views. We drank, sunbathed, played music, and barbecued 5 out of the 7 days we stayed. It's like renting a private resort. Located in a cul-de-sac it is very quiet. Just at the top of the famous Mulholland Dr. so you're five minutes away from the Sunset Strip or The Valley, which gives you the opportunity to experience the best of both worlds. And a very cheap Uber ride to either side.
This is one of the very few retreats that works perfectly for a romantic getaway, a family vacation, or a group of friends wanting to experience the legendary "rich and famous" lifestyle Hollywood has promoted for nearly a century.
The only downfall is that you may never want to leave, and will experience some depression when returning to your everyday life. But the cure is to plan to come back, like we did!
PS Lyndall is super sweet and attentive. Not demanding, strict, or rude like other hosts. You'll love her!!
House in the hill
We stayed at this place for the Grammys in Feb 2015, lovely location for Vally and Hollywood access. Was funny, the first night we were outside taking in the view and I turned and looked at the house, Tin roof, breeze block walls & shined up cement floors, in Ireland we would call it a shack but it seemed to fit well in the Holywood Hills.
I really enjoyed a nip down to the Country Store for groceries and a coffee outside, it use to have a Pub called Cat & Fiddle many moons ago when Imlived in LA, sadly gone and now a lot of heavy traffic up and down Laurel Cyn. I employed a Local Lass to take care of my family a few days as I arrived late, she dept with the owner and wasn't too impressed, I had a wee bit of hassle confirming the booking but all in all not to bad, I know we left the place spotless but owner did charge us for two days cleaning which I thought was a bit of a rip but there Ya go, pity, I kind of liked the place but that left a bad taste with us, it's funny, little things make a difference. Anyway, wouldn't stay again, there are loads of beautiful places to explore, have stayed in a lovely place in Encino, not much in the way of views but a mock castle and lovely owner, made you feel like King and Queen and my merry kids.
Fantastic Home in the Hollywood Hills
My family rented this house in early July 2014. The house is beautiful, clean and very well appointed. The owner is attentive and readily available. She left us flowers and even stocked the kitchen with a few food items. The kitchen is wonderful to cook in and the pool and patio were perfect for days of lounging in the California sun. The view from the patio is amazing both day and night and the outdoor furniture was comfortable and meant for hours of reading or playing games by the pool. The location can't be beat; 10 min to Hollywood and 10 min to Studio City, both with restaurants, shops, and any else you need. I highly recommend this home and if we travel to California again would definitely love to rent this home again!

Beautiful Home
My family and I stayed here in late July of 2014. The house is nicely decorated and furnished and comfortable and the shared spaces living room + dining room and kitchen are huge. There's also a huge patio with a spectacular view (especially sunsets) and a pool. This is a great home for entertaining because of the wide open common areas and large patio. The kitchen is a spacious gourmet kitchen and there's nice gas grill on the patio, so there's everything you need to cook your own meals if you're so inclined - we did a couple of the nights we were there.
The location is great if you want to go to Universal or anything near the Hollywood Walk of Fame and is also fairly close to Beverly Hills and the Griffith Observatory. Shopping and restaurants are also a short drive. You will need a car as nothing is within easy walking distance, but everything I mentioned is within easy driving distance.
There were a few minor issues with fixtures in the home that were in need of repair. I think we were the first to rent the home after a long term tenant so there were a few odds and ends that still needed addressing that will likely be sorted out before the next person rents the home, but nothing significant and the owner was responsive.
Overall, I would recommend this home for anyone who wants to stay near the Hollywood and Universal attractions and wants a nice, private Hollywood Hills home with a pool and a beautiful view that is large enough for a big family or group and to entertain guests.
