Tree Top Hideaway is a beautiful coastal retreat near Sand Lake Estuary in a peaceful natural area off the beaten path. It is on the Three Capes Scenic Route which offers hiking, biking, bird watching and lighthouses to enjoy. You will enjoy the spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean and Sand Lake Estuary from all three floors of this comfortable vacation home. The house is very spacious and private, away from the hustle and bustle with a private hot tub overlooking the ocean. It's only a short four miles to Cape Kiwanda and Pacific City which has several good restaurants and great shopping.
Directly across the street is the Whalen Island Park with beach access, hiking trails and picnic areas. The park is in the Sand Lake Estuary which has an abundance of wildlife and offers clamming, fishing and crabbing for your enjoyment. Two miles away is Tierra del Mar with a public beach and literally miles of uncrowded beaches to walk, and opportunities for fishing, swimming and surfing.

I love the outdoors and enjoy so many hobbies that take place here on the Coast. I come here every chance I get to take advantage of what it has to offer. I've been coming to this part of the Oregon Coast for over twenty years, catching Pacific Salmon and Dungeness Crab , cooking and eating them while they're fresh, at the beach. I've spent days hiking on old growth forest trails, or out on the rocky shore of the coastline to watch the sunset on the Pacific Ocean.
Buddy Beck purchased this house in 2006
Places like this exist only in dreams for most of us, and when I found this beautiful three story home was available to purchase, I knew that my dreams had come true. The house is close enough to the beach to smell the salt, hear the gulls and the ocean roar, but far enough away to be warm and windless when the beach is windy and cool. During one of our winter storms you can sit by the warmth of the fireplace and watch the winds bend the trees and waves break over the dunes. It has everything I wanted in a house and is close to all the things I go to the Oregon Coast to enjoy.
One of the things I enjoy about this house is the quiet, private setting it has and the ease of finding a quiet place in the house to read or just enjoy some private time. Views from any of the three large decks make you realize why you came to the coast. The hot tub is in a private yard with an ocean view and at night there are more stars in the sky than one would think possible. The children's area is on the lower level with it's own living room and TV, with games and puzzles and has 4 beds and a full bath. They love having their own space.
A great place- close to Pacific City, but with a gorgeous view of Sand Lake Estuary from both decks! The master bedroom is awesome to hang out in, with the upper deck right out the sliding glass door. Awesome hot tub, too! I would recommend it! :-)
A group of 8 of us stayed here over the weekend for a beautiful church retreat. The porches add so much square footage and the weather held out to provide us a beautiful time away. We slept comfortably and didn't want for anything. The hot tub just sealed the deal.
This place isn't super fancy but we didn't need that. This would be great for a large family or a girls weekend. Quick trips to the beach and the estuary was awesome. We even saw a whale!
The property was great for our family. Super spacious, loved having the three levels and the hot tub was perfect after a walk at the beach! Can't wait to go back!
My husband, two friends and I needed to get away for Thanksgiving. This home is quiet and comfy and served that purpose well! It was close enough to the beach and shopping as well without being right in the middle of all the bustle. If you are considering Pacific City, this is the house!
We had such an amazing time staying at the Tree Top Hideaway. The location was perfect, close enough to the beach but still far enough away from large groups of people, and nicely set up in the woods. The entire family enjoyed our time here. The house had plenty of room for all of us, 7 adults and 2 Children (Children ages 6 and 16 at the time) There was room for everyone to sleep and play comfortably. The hot tub was a great extra that we really enjoyed, along with with view. There was so much to do in the area, not too far away, one morning we even went on a charter fishing trip. However, the house is nice enough that we spent quite a bit of time just relaxing there and enjoying the view and peacefulness as well.
Good parking, a ton of space, and an awesome view with multiple decks. Some things which may be hard to avoid which were minor issues was quite a bit of mold in the BBQ on the porch as well as a very damp and somewhat mildewy smell throughout the first floor. The electric heatersworked well, but bring your own firewood if you want a fire in the living room. The kitchen tools are well stocked with what you need, including a few spices. The house was clean, and easy to keep tidy. We would recommend staying here.
