First, the actual unit: The apartment is okay, but is oddly set up - the double bedroom has no door, so privacy was an issue. The couches in the living room are not very comfortable so our teens laid on the floor - thankfully there is a lot of floor space. Naturally all of the tv channels are in German - not even a CNN to keep up on the news. There also was no DVD player (we didn't bother asking, we were only there 3 days). No bath, great shower, clean large bathroom, small but efficient little kitchenette.
also, I want to say, the lady at the check-in desk was lovely and charming.
But most important : the location. If you are planning on going back and forth to Travemunde, where all of the restaurants and food shopping are, the ferry is 7 euros or so each way - really gets expensive. We were there to go to HansaPark (over 20 minutes away) and the beach, so because of the location, we would not rent again.
Travemünde is the popular sister of the Hanseatic city Lübeck and a popular resort which offers a lot of facilities. Not only for water sportsmen, beach vacationers and so on but also for golfers with the golf club of Travemünde on side it is also a journey worth. In Travemünde the popular stroggling mile “Vorderreihe” with its numerous restaurants and boutiques invites year-round to stroll and mediates maritime flair. A lot of destinations are easy accessible from Travemünde, e.g. the “Sealife-Center” in Timmendorfer Strand, the Baltic Sea hot springs, the Karl-May-festivals in Bad Segeberg, The bird park in Niendorf or also the Hansa-Park in Sierksdorf.
Golf: The golf club of Travemünde is glad for new guests.
