Additional Information: As the owners of the very popular Black Pearl Over Water Bungalow in Bora Bora, we can't tell you how excited we are to offer, for the first time, Marlon Brando's historic over water bungalow for vacation rentals. We remodeled the bungalow to meet the needs of our sophisticated travelers and it is beautiful. Marlon Brando owned two bungalows, one for him and one for his friends. We have purchased both. Both Brando's Bora Bora Bungalow and Marlon's over water hideaway are the perfect location for snorkeling, walking hiking and swimming. Paradise surrounds you.

Our rates are very affordable, especially if you've checked out the prices of some of the 4 and 5 star hotels on the island. Our home is a true travel bargain.
Please reserve early as high season books up fast.
Car Rental: You will need a car. Other options are carts, bikes, taxi and water taxi (Not always available).

We enjoyed our stay in the over water bungalow - View across the lagoon, snorkeling off the deck, viewing fish from the deck, and just being in paradise!
There’s plenty of large towels, excellent Wifi service, perfect size washing machine ( bring your own laundry detergent capsules ), and the bedroom air conditioning is perfect for sleeping comfortably.
We rented a car through Avis, which is walking distance from the ferry dock, because we were unable to coordinate our rental through Nir. You do need a car to get to the bungalow from the ferry dock, as well as to get supplies, site seeing, restaurants, etc. Bora Diving will pick you up right off your deck!
A few things needed attention during our stay - light bulbs burned out, no cutting board, broken refrigerator shelf, which Richard took care of once communicated.
Make sure you know how to operate the cell phone Nir gives you, and understanding some French is very helpful throughout the island.
Wonderful location and great overwater bungalow in Bora Bora. Nir was helpful and our vacation went super smooth! Even watched the movie Mutiny on the Bounty on our last night there! The best part of the bungalow was just kicking it on the deck. That's pretty much where my husband and I stayed for the four days while we were there . Swims in the morning, excursions after that, followed by swims before we would cook our dinners . We ate out a total of one time , just to socialize with other people, but the best dinners were had right on the deck. The washer / dryer came in handy and the linens were stocked well. We rented stand up paddle boards from Laurie ( by the Intercintinental) and paddled around BB, exploring the island at our leisure. This was part one of an amazing journey to French Polynesia , and we will definitely be back!
The property is out of the main area, so you'll need a car. Loved that there were only a few units, #1 was on the end which was really nice and private. Snorkeling was good right off our deck. No glass floor as the unit is older, but I didn't miss it at all. Lots of colorful fish right around our deck. Highly recommend it!!
The location of the bungalow was north of where most of the "action" is . This suited us fine. We rented a car from the manager at a reasonable price and were able to go everywhere and see everything at our own pace rather than be "trapped" at a fancy resort.
The bungalow was very well equipped and very comfortable. Nothing was lacking. A gas grill on the deck allowed us to cook a whole tuna fillet bought at a road side stand. High speed internet, full equipped kitchen. Even a washer. There is even a sea kayak and snorkel gear to use.
We had more room than we needed. The home would have comfortably held at least four and possibly more.
A/C in both bedrooms was necessary and welcome.
Away from the big resorts we shopped like the locals and went out to dinner at our leisure.
Afternoon drinks on the deck watching the beautiful fish while the sun set was a treat.
We had some travel difficulties as Air Tahiti was on strike, but the manager was always available to help us out.
If you want something out of the ordinary (at a fraction of the cost of the resorts-a big bonus), this is for you.
We would definitely stay here again and look forward to doing so.
What a wonderful location! We stayed for one week in May with another couple and found it to be just as advertised. We saw so many different fish right off our dock and in the lagoon around the bungalow, and the night spot light brought out different species as well. It was lovely all around. Nir was an excellent resource and he met us on time and provided lots of valuable information. It definitely was a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. We got plenty of snorkel and swim time in while we enjoyed the incredible weather. A wonderful vacation spot!
We were very happy with Marlon's bungalow. We found the condo to be just as described and the surrounding views were spectacular. The unit itself is well equipped and the outside deck is fantastic. We used the BBQ quite a bit and the clear ocean water surrounding the bungalow is perfect for swimming and snorkeling. We only wished that the unit had come equipped with a kayak... It is absolutely necessary to have a car when renting this bungalow as there are no stores, etc within walking distance....Car rentals are pricey so factor that into your budget. All in all, we would highly recommend any of the bungalows. Richard and Nir were great to work with and Nir was very helpful once we arrived. He provided transportation from the airport ferry and a provided a car for us to rent for the week. He also helped us with dinner and activity reservations and recommendations for places to eat and things to do. We would love to return beautiful Bora and Bora and would stay there again.
The owners of the Black Pearl are proud to announce the acquisition and remodel of both of Marlon Brando's famous Over water Bungalows with FREE WIFI. Jack Nicholson Owned #3. James Michener called Bora Bora 'The most beautiful island in the world. And it is, it really is. Bora Bora is one of the Society Islands in the South Pacific, Tahiti being the largest. It is only a seven and a half hour flight from Los Angeles, and the same time zone as Hawaii. To get there, you take a direct flight to Tahiti and then a 45 minute island hopper to Bora Bora. You are now officially in paradise. Use your state of the art kitchen to prepare a meal, or dine out at the many fine restaurants on the island. The activities are endless if you wish to keep busy, or just lie down on the veranda, listen to the water and finish that 1000 page book you can't seem to finish. Life takes on new meaning when you are surrounded by the serenity and the beauty of Bora Bora. Come and see for yourself!
