Sea Turtle Villa is one of St. John's most popular vacation homes. The casual elegance of Sea Turtle Villa makes it an ideal accommodation for discriminating travelers. The alfresco architectural design with 10 foot by 10 foot openings allows guests to enjoy the comforting breezes and spectacular views (views of Fish, Rendezvous & Hart Bays and the V.I. National Park) whether from inside the villa or while lounging in the pool.
Honeymoon And 'Special Anniversary' couples especially love the privacy, couples traveling together love the accommodations ('not even a toss up for master bedrooms'), and our larger groups (up to six guests) love the comforts and conveniences of spending time together.
Guests love to see all the 'Sea Turtles' that have been used as decorative appointments in the house...there is even an on-going challenge in the guest book of the latest 'count' of sea turtles.

Wonderful property with a spectacular view, every necessary amenity, excellent hosts
We stayed in June and found the property to be a phenomenal value with a world-class view. There was a fully equipped kitchen, multitude of beach accessories and a liberating open air feel. Given the location near fish bay, there were insects but the screening of the house was well designed to permit open air and minimal bugs. The pool was very soothing on hot days and the elevated view was expansive. Furniture was all relatively new, beds were comfortable and electronic amenities up to par (TV, wifi, cable, icemaker, washer/dryer, stereo, bedroom ac's, etc...). Had an excellent time grilling and we were able to comfortably and easily cook dinner nightly with that amazing view. Recommend renting a 4x4 for transport--15min to Cruz bay and groceries, 30-45min to Nshore beaches. We had an outstanding vacation! Highly recommend a stay at the Sea Turtle Villa--you will not regret it!
Exceeded our expectations! The photos don't do the view justice.
This house was spectacular. Very clean, comfortable and private with incredible views and breeze. The pool was lovely. The house had everything we needed. Yes, The drive was scary day one but it became easier and a little fun. Most of the island has steep hills and curves. Renting a 4 wheel drive vehicle is a good idea. We will definitely rent this home again.
Wonderful Home Base for a Great Vacation
We stayed here 2/12-22/2017.
Location. House is located on the east side of fish bay, well up the hill. You need a jeep to get in and out. (I recommend Conrad Sutton rentals in cruz bay). Though the distance from Cruz Bay is maybe 4 miles, the roads are very hilly (part is called Jacob's Ladder!), so we chose to be home by dark and have dinner at the house. Travel to north side beaches is 30-40 minutes depending on the beach. East side beaches maybe an hour, again depending on beach.
Neighbors: The house is quite private. We could occasionally hear voices from a house well up the hill, but couldn't see it through the foliage. There's a house next door that we could see a little of through the foliage, but not obtrusive. There's some construction around the bay, so you can hear some hammering and sawing during the day, but not really bothersome to us.
Accommodations: The living area is a great room with screened openings to the outdoors. Great views and breezes. There are two identical bedroom/bath suites, one upstairs. one down. Queen beds. These have a/c, but no need: high of 80 in the day, down to 70 at night. We just left the sliding doors open. The kitchen is very well equipped, including dishwasher, ice machine, and even a keurig machine to augment the regular mr. coffee. 3-burner gas grill outside. The pantry was stocked with a few spices, olive oil, etc left from previous tenants. The bathrooms had left behind shampoo, etc., and even some suntan lotion. The pool and outside patio was delightful. There are coolers, towels, chairs, snorkels, fins, etc, to take to the beach. There's a washer and dryer - important for when you are packing. We brought MANY more clothes than we needed. Everything is casual.
Communications: Verizon didn't seem to work, we were told at&t is spotty. The house has local dial-up service with an answering machine. We put the phones on airplane mode to avoid roaming. Internet got us text and email on the phones, and we used a roku stick to get netflix.
Overall: This was a wonderful home base that added greatly to enjoying our 10-day vacation. It was clean and very well-furnished. The agent (Private Homes) was very helpful in getting us through he arrival and set-up process. You'll be happy with this choice.
Great views, lots of room, nice and clean.
Villa has everything you would need to settle in, especially a separate ice maker which was super handy. The views are great, the pool is nice to dip in and entire area is quiet and peaceful. The 2 futon areas are great for kids because of the views to wake up to. Loved the outdoor areas by showers.
Only thing that caught me off guard but was my own fault and wasn't an issue is that all the windows you see looking out to the bay are not glass. Like I said, not an issue, but caught me off guard. Was nice at night to feel like you were outside. It does get a bit toasty with the setting sun.
The villa management was great. We had an issue with our A/C's and they worked with us as best as they could and we came upon a fair agreement when the A/C's were not able to be repaired during our visit. Got to talk to them at length when they came by about the A/C's about local spots and history. Lots of helpful tips on trotting around the island. My only complaint, and it was no ones fault was the A/C issue, but it is a tropical island so heat is to be expected.
We recently returned from a great week in St. John at the Sea Turtle Villa. The privacy and the views
are excellent. The home is in excellent condition and had all the amenities that one could ask for. As
mentioned by others guests, the views from this house are incredible and the feeling that your in a treehouse
listening to all of the forest sounds is great. The outdoor shower was also great. My only negative about
the property is getting in and out of the driveway ( long and narrow), otherwise my family and I really enjoyed
the property and would recommend it to anyone looking for a villa on St. John.
Thanks again Rich and Cherry for sharing this amazing Villa with us! We could not have asked for more privacy, peace and tranquility! We were actually 15 minutes late for our wedding on Trunk Bay Beach...had a hard time tearing ourselves away from this beautiful villa, the pool and views. Cherry, you had the perfect suggestion for our wedding dinner (ZoZo's at Caneel Bay Resort). The food was exceptional, the service was excellent, and the views/atmosphere fantastic! We went snorkeling 8 of the 9 days we were there. Water was very calm and visibility like I have never seen before! I highly suggest Francis Bay Beach for experienced snorkelers. When entering the beach, go to the right and snorkel way out to the point! Amazing. We also took the Breakaway boat for a day out to Virgin Gorda (the Baths), Snorkeled Diamond Reef, Marina Cay for lunch and 1 last stop at the Soggy Dollar Bar on Jost Van Dyke...an amazing day in the British Virgin Islands! We will definitely recommend this villa to our friends and family!!!!!!!
10 minutes from Cruz Bay Other Activities: shopping, kayaking, boating, health/beauty spa, great restaurants.
