Overview

About the property

Condo, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 2-6)

This beachfront condo has the lowest beach access in Lincoln City, and maybe the entire Oregon Coast.

My little slice of heaven features a full kitchen, two beds, a hide-a-bed, two full bathrooms and password-protected Internet. This is Unit 214 at the historic Sea Gypsy, which I call 'The Beachelor Pad.' Read that again: It's The B-E-A-C-H-elor Pad! Although it sounds like a bachelor pad, this is a great condo for families with kids. It can sleep six. The Murphy beds in both sleeping areas fold up against the wall, giving you plenty of room to play.

Large windows in the oceanside suite give you an amazing view of the beach. Watch for harbor seals in the shallow waves below, and the waterspouts of migrating grey whales on the horizon. I've even seen a pod of orca whales heading north in the shallow waves.

My condo is 634 square feet and has two separate sleeping areas that can hold up to 6 vacationers. I've stocked the kitchen with enough cookware and dishes to meet all your culinary needs.

The immediate beach access sets the Sea Gypsy apart from other vacation spots on the Oregon coast. Play in the sand, wade in the ocean and go for one of those famous long walks on the beach.

The Sea Gypsy is adjacent to the D River — the shortest river in the world. Take a 10-minute walk north of the Sea Gypsy to some natural tide pools, where you will find a wide range of sea life, including sea urchins, starfish and other surprises.

When you stay here, you’re a short walk from the downtown art district, several fine restaurants, taverns, antiques stores and the Tanger Outlets — Lincoln City’s No. 1 shopping attraction.

Chinooks Winds Casino is just 5 minutes away via the free shuttle (provided by the casino on weekends) or a $7 cab ride. It is about a 40 minutes by foot if you're interested in one of those famous long walks on the beach.

The Sea Gypsy is adjacent to the D River, which comes from the mouth of Devil's Lake just across the highway. Devil's Lake features a multitude of recreational opportunities from jet skiing to fishing and boats rentals. Several public parks ring the lake, and if you're coming to Lincoln City with kids we highly recommend Regatta Grounds Park with its enormous castle playground.

Very nice location, nice view, close to amenities.

  • 4 of 5

Nice facility, very clean and tidy. The walls are a little thin but the location, view and access to the beach makes up for it.

overall nice stay

  • 4 of 5

The room was very nice and the view was great. We enjoyed our stay but there were one or two things that we had a hard time with. First of which was the two entrance doors having no locks on the inside. I have 3 young kids who can all open doors. We chose this room because we read it was the best for kids but it wasn't exactly child safe. We also couldn't figure out if there was AC or not, there were ceiling fans and there was a heating system, but we couldn't find AC. Weatherwise it wasn't really necessary you could open the windows but the windows facing the beach had no screens. And being that we were on the second story I felt uncomfortable having windows open for long periods of time while my kids were up. Having easy access to the beach was wonderful and the setting was so peaceful. I would highly recommend this place to my friends and family, but we personally wouldn't stay there again until our kids were a little older.

Great place!

  • 4 of 5

Great place to stay! Great views, very clean & comfortable. Has everything you need in the kitchen which helps keep the cost of food down so you're not eating out every meal. Only bummer was the pool was shut down and so was the community pool offered in exchange.

Great view, location. But dirty, loud foot traffic in steps.

  • 4 of 5

Spacious, convenient to beach, great view of ocean waves. But carpet is filthy, dust/scum visible on most surfaces. Light bulbs out. Adjacent to steps outside with loud, frequent traffic making private bdrm worse than sleeping in living room. Even bedsheets pit on sidewzys.

Right on the beach a family condominium called bachelor pad

  • 4 of 5

Our family of 4 adults and 2 kids enjoyed our stay at the Bachelor Pad. It is on the beach at Lincoln City and close to stores, restaurants and the cultural center. The condominium has a main living room off the kitchen with a queen Murphy bed and a full size sofa bed. The second bed room has a full size Murphy. The bedding was quite comfortable. However, the full size bed for two adults is a bit too small. The 2nd room has its own full bath which was great to have.

The kitchen is equipped with pots and pans and dishes. We made full use of the kitchen during our stay for the eclipse.

Although it is called the Bachelor Pad this condominium is excellent for families too. I do hope the owner updates the carpet. It would be a huge improvement to this unit. We met the owner on our arrival. Mr. Troy Foster is a very nice and friendly person and was working hard to get our unit in shape for our stay.

The complex has a indoor swimming pool that the grand kids used as well.

In all, I recommend the Bachelor pad for families as well. When we were there most our grand kids had a blasts the entire time. We love to come back one day soon.

Great location. Furnishings are a little stale. Really a ONE bedroom with extra Murphy bed.

  • 3 of 5

The Beachalor Pad is in a GREAT location. Beautiful views of the ocean. Easy access right out the back of the building to the beach. Bathrooms were clean and comfortable. Now for the bad news. This is really a ONE bedroom condo. Although it might sleep six, four of the guests would have to sleep in the living room on a Murphy bed (it was very comfortable, btw) and pull out couch. The one private bedroom has another Murphy bed and a couch that could possible accommodate one (small) person. The carpeting was quite dated, stale and stained (if that bothers you.) It didn't really bother me but I thought I'd mention it. Lastly, one of the stools that bellies up to the breakfast bar was very loose and wiggly and seemed dangerous to sit on. Also, the coffee table was quite shaky. Despite these criticisms, The Beachalor Pad was a great value for our family to vacation on the Oregon coast. Easy access to the beach and to the town. And that was most important to us. If you like camping, you'll LOVE this place. If the Hilton is more your style, find something else.
