Overview

Carnelian Bay Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms, 2 baths, hot tub, (Sleeps 10)

Dancing Bear Den!

In recent years three siblings and their families have enjoyed and shared with you, our Tahoe tourists, a cute, knotty pine cabin named after our 'Papa Bear' who created our family legacy with a Tahoe cabin for summer and winter adventures.

Instead of Papa Bear’s Tahoe Cabin, however, we are so excited now to introduce our new cabin, Dancing Bear Den! The Dancing Bear Den is just a few houses away from our former Papa Bear’s cabin, still has a view of Lake Tahoe, and has more room – and a hot tub!!!

We are sharing the cabin with you to create your own memories - whether family vacation, couple's getaway, honeymoons or ski vacation. The access is fabulous, right on the highway so you won't get stuck in the snow, with a wide, level driveway that can fit four cars and a boat.

Lake View! There's a partial view of Lake Tahoe from the deck and the living room.

Features! The cabin can sleep up to 10 people. There are two bedrooms downstairs, each with a queen bed, along with a full bath, washer/dryer, kitchen, and living room. There is a large loft bedroom upstairs, with two bunkbeds (full bed on bottom, twin on top) and a full bath. Paneled in knotty pine throughout, Dancing Bear Den is filled with the Tahoe bear décor.

Dog Friendly! There is a nice backyard to let your dog out. We will be building a fence this summer for Fido.

No Smoking! Please don't rent this cabin if you are a smoker.

Close to resorts! The cabin is located in the middle of the North Shore of Lake Tahoe, close to Northstar, Homewood, Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley, as well as Tahoe Cross Country Ski Center. Many more ski areas are within an hour's drive. There are beaches across the North Shore, public bus access right out the front door, restaurants and shopping within minutes.

This cabin opens the door to a wonderful world of Tahoe adventures.

About The Owner

The family which jointly owns Dancing Bear Den shares a love of Lake Tahoe and frequently visits this special place. Of the three children, the Caninos have lived in Cedar Flat, just a few blocks away, for more than 30 years and manage the property; the Bransons are in the Reno/Sparks area and the Inman/Borgias family comes for frequent visits from Denver.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2016

Why The Owner chose Lake Tahoe North Shore

Papa Bear chose to purchase a cabin so he could spend his summers golfing at Old Brockway Golf Course and enjoying his friends along the lake. After he went to heaven, his kids continue the legacy of a love of Tahoe. Now that his grandchildren are adults themselves, the Dancing Bear Den offers more room.

What makes this cabin unique

You will encounter a Tahoe experience in this cute cabin that you could not have in a motel or resort. You will experience Tahoe's quaint past in this cabin, while enjoying all Tahoe's many resorts, restaurants, shopping, and sightseeing opportunities.

The most relaxing, restful, appointed homes to stay in.

The place is great close to the lake. Everything you need is there with plenty of room for families. Back yard is a ace to enjoy peace and the beautiful trees. Plus the hot tub helps. Go enjoy

clean, well stocked, great for dogs!

  • 5 of 5

my friends and i love visiting lake tahoe, and the cabin we rent each year must have three things: a hot tub, pet friendliness, and close proximity to the lake. the dancing bear den had all three, and my eight friends and i slept more than comfortably. the gated backyard allowed our pets to run free outside, and the front deck was a beautiful place to have lunch and dinner every day.

Dancing bear den was comfortable & convenient.

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful family celebration stay @ the cabin. Sitting on the deck for coffee, cocktails, family game night while being able to enjoy the view of the lake through the trees was the best part. We were able to walk out kayaks down to the lake for a morning paddle easily. The cabins location between kings beach & Tahoe city made it simple to reach rafting, restaurants, & grocery stores as well as other popular Tahoe attractions. We had 4 adults & 4 "kids" aged 15-23 & we were pleasantly comfy in the cabin!!!

Very cute and cozy cabin.

  • 4 of 5

Cabin was cute and very cozy. Beds were comfortable and nice bedding. Linens were clean and nice quality. Felt at home. Only downside was we specifically requested a place with a wood burning stove, this place had one, but right before we arrived it was taken out. We were not able to have a fire of any kind. This was very disappointing to be in the snow and no fire. I would recommend staying there, but check about fireplace first.

Fantastic stay!

  • 5 of 5

We are so thankful to hosts for our fantastic stay in their wonderful cabin! It was a great and easy time for all of us - parents, kids, grandparents and our small dog. It was easy to book the cabin, easy to find the place and easy to make sense how things work inside the house. Every our question was answered usually upfront with clear instructions through all process.

The Papa Bear cabin was very cute and cozy. It felt like a real home-away-from-home. We liked every detail as shining Christmas tree, Christmas books, moose decorated plates, bears all over rooms, fireplace, well equipped kitchen, warm and plush blankets and pillows. We found plenty of storage space in the cabin. There were great selection of books to read and beautiful views on the forest hill and lake Tahoe. It was so nice to find out that hosts even left candy and tea bags for us! So we can relax a minute after a long ride. I was very delighted to find all needed things in the kitchen, since we home cook a lot for my daughter with allergies and Grandpa after GI track surgery.

We had a nice trips to surrounding mountain ski areas. There are plenty skiing around for kids and advanced adults in 15-30 min drive distance. Kids have a total blast playing with snow outside and sledding. They used all three snow pants changes through the day! In just 10 minutes drive there is a nice cross country ski area. My husband and kids enjoyed it a lot. There is a beautiful Tahoe city just minutes away with grocery shopping, public beach access, art galleries, spas, rental shops and many restaurants to choose from. We enjoyed short walk to the lake from the cabin too. There are several small street around where we walked with our dog.

Kids absolutely want to come back as soon as possible!

We will definitely recommend this place to our friends and relatives!
