Butler Manor Carriage House is a self-sufficient apartment surrounded by gardens, on an estate. This one-bedroom/one-bath cottage is a premier example of Elizabethan English Tudor architecture. The Manor was originally built in 1921 by the Jordan School District as a teacher's dormitory. It was later restored to yesteryear's elegance, and beautifully furnished with period antiques.
Butler Manor Carriage House offers approximately 800 square feet of living space. Amenities include a fireplace, hardwood floors, gas range, stainless appliances, cable TV, DVD, wifi, BBQ grill, a large deck with spectacular valley and mountain views, laundry room, parking, and an outdoor shared hot tub.
The cottage is surrounded by a half-acre English garden with a fruit orchard and a 360-degree panoramic view of Salt Lake City and the Wasatch Mountains. It's only 15 minutes from Alta, Snowbird, Solitude, and Brighton ski mountains -- and 30 minutes from Park City, Canyons, and Deer Valley ski mountains. Additionally, it's only 45 minutes from Sundance!
The home is within 1/4 mile of Cottonwood Recreation Center, where you can enjoy indoor and outdoor swimming pools, ice skating, racquetball, a fitness center, classes of all kinds and many more fun things to do. It's also within walking distance of ski rentals, a grocery store, drugstores, and several restaurants.
Please note that the loft bedroom with queen-sized bed is accessible by pull-down attic-like stairs and the living room has a pullout couch with a double bed. The outdoor hottub on the property is shared, though you will probably have it to yourselves; bathing suits are required. Finally there are two very sweet dogs on the property which belong to the main house and share the yard. If we have agreed to a dog prior to your arrival, he or she will need a leash and we do require that you clean up after him/her.

This is extremely close to Alta and Snowbird for skiing. During the spring we have literally thousands of gorgeous flowers in bloom on our property.
SShhhhh. Don't tell anyone as I want to be able to stay there again. Perfect place for a getaway (for us skiing, but would be great in the Summer, too). Full kitchen, fireplace, large main room and laundry machines in the garage. We will definitely be staying here again....if it is not already reserved.
Perfect place to spend Christmas vacation. LOCATION is fantastic. Large enough for a family of 4 with 2 teenage boys. Best restaurant close to house was BECA (Italian). East drive to all ski hills including Park City. Laundry facilities and kitchen with all amenities. We'll be back ..... with a 4 wheel drive :-)
We have stayed at The Butler Manor twice now and have already booked for next year. Easy quick access to 4 MAJOR ski resorts and only a 40 minute drive to Park City, you can't beat this location. Main floor of rental is much larger than expected, plus a large private balcony with wonderful views, day and night. Easy going owners right next door, but respect your privacy. Dog friendly too :), got to love that! Lots of shopping / restaurants very close and only a 25 minute drive to the airport. FWI rental is on a main road which is pretty busy day and night, elementary school next door is active during the weekday, but quiet otherwise.
My stay here has been wonderful. The Butler Manor is centrally located to all the things that are important to me. Whole foods is just down the street and the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon is just up the street. Also Cottonwood Heights Recreation Center is within walking distance from Butler Manor. Yet the setting here is quiet and peaceful with beautiful views from the terrace which can be enjoyed during warm Utah afternoons. The living room dinning area is spacious with a very well stocked kitchen. If a problem occurs staff is very receptive and prompt. I highly recommend this property for a Utah getaway.
I stayed in The Butler Manor for about three months. I was moving to SLC and looking for a house to buy. I didn't want to be in a rush to buy...and this beautiful apartment made it very easy not to rush. I loved my stay.... I could come home in the evening and throw a steak in their gas grill, have a cold drink and lounge on the deck very high above the city and enjoy the beautiful sight of all the city lights down below, and the cool mountain air. Internet was fast, TVs super, everything really comfortable. Management was attentive and helpful but always gave me privacy. And the price was extremely good...I shopped a lot and found this house to be twice as nice as all the others but somehow half the cost. Great location, great product, super price, well managed. Would be the perfect place to stay for skiing too...very close to the best slopes. Book it before someone else does.
We really loved staying at Butler Manor, it really felt like a home away from home. We enjoyed the large deck w/bbq and its great views of the valley and the mountains. The furnishings are beautiful and comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. The location is perfect if you want to ski the cottonwood canyons or want a central location with easy access to the 215 loop. Owners were on site at the time and were very friendly while at the same time respecting our privacy. Highly recommend this property.
5 blocks from Cottonwood Heights Recreational Center with 3 swimming pools; waterslides, basketball courts, racketball courts, tennis courts, fitness rooms, ice skating, track, classes - nominal fee. Many restaurants and grocery stores within close proximity to the property. Close to many world class Skiing/mountain resorts.

Holidays (including Christmas, Easter and President's Weekend) and Special Event Rates are higher. $175/night $1050/week
Refundable Security deposit for rentals more than one month = 1 month's rent plus $200.
Monthly rentals extending stay = $60/day.
For two guests there is separate out-cleaning fee of $100, to be paid at the end of your stay by cash or check. It is higher for additional guests.
During winter, 4-wheel drive recommended for snow and steep driveway.
Well-behaved dogs only; $100 per month per dog non-refundable
To hold the reservation, a deposit of $500 is required. All fees are due no less than 30 days prior to arrival. Monthly rentals may have additional payment periods, depending on how many months. Checks and Paypal (5% surcharge), for international, wire transfers accepted.
