Hawaii Kai is a waterfront property developed by Kaiser back in the 60's. He envisioned this area as the playground for the Waikikians who would purchase these week end houses with boat docks for family fun. Little did he know that this area had become a well thought out bedroom community for full time residents.
50 years forwards and Hawaii Kai had grown into a desired destination for water craft enthusiasts as the marina offers many adventures for the bay lovers.
In a short distance is famous shorelines you see in many movies, there is a sandy beach for surfing, Eternal beach for protected cove swimming, Hanauma Bay for snorkeling.
This room is large airy comfortable for a couple, includes a private bath and an enclosed lanai with garden plants. Also includes a large desk and hutch for computer work. Monthly rate is also available.
Please Note: It is likely that other travelers/guests may be present as I have other rooms available in the house.

I am a very laid back person with lots of knowledge on Hawaiian Culture. Please ask and I will guide you to some must see historical sites. If you like hiking we have trails around here from easy to strenuous ones but any ways the surrounding is beautiful.
Maggie Boyles purchased this house in 1994
A serene, peaceful and quiet place where the breeze always flows through making it ideal weather for Oahu. Not too hot and not too cold, JUST right. Close to 3 shopping centers, famous eateries like Original Roys.
Close to all the major natural sites as well as to famous Waikiki and Kailua beaches. Hanauma Bay is only 5 minutes from us.
Maggie was a wonderful hostess! Everything was so nice! I stayed in her studio apt, and it was immaculately clean and very well-appointed with any and all supplies that you might need. It was also very quiet! Traveling alone as a woman, I felt very safe here. It is easy to park on the street, and the location is close to everything -- grocery store, restaurants, gas station, Starbucks, Costco, post office, and a bunch of quaint little shops. Her place felt like my home-away-from-home for a few days while bringing my son to UH for college. Maggie's dogs are sweethearts and very welcoming. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you, Maggie, for making my visit so comfortable and hassle-free. I am so glad that I found your place here on VRBO. Thank you for your graciousness and hospitality! Hope to stay with you again someday! ~ Trish
Maggie is wonderful, she even picked us up from the nearby park because we arrived by water from Molokai and had no car.
The room was very clean, spacious and well appointed. The household amenities are great, including all typical beach toys, chairs etc.
Two very friendly older dogs were nice company when they weren't napping.
We will definitely keep this place for our next stay on oahu.
What a lovely home - amazing location right on the water in the marina. As a single traveler, my concern is a safe location to stay. This was not only safe, it was a healing haven for me during my stay. I was only in town for a few nights to attend my Aunty's funeral. Unfortunately my stay coincided with another aunt passing away and my father being rushed to the emergency room and being admitted to the hospital. Needless to say, dealing with these family issues was stressful.
I only stayed three nights however each night I had company as one of Maggie's beautiful labs would spend the night with me in my room. Each night when I came home, Kai would be there and follow me in the room and jump up on his couch to sleep. I was missing my own furbabies back on the mainland this was very welcomed - especially as this visit for me was so sad.
I have a feeling I'll be heading back to HI soon for my father is still gravely ill and still in the hospital and I hope to stay with Maggie and Kai again.
Maggie was a very gracious host and kept common areas of the house very clean. We only stayed for two nights, but it was a very relaxing and peaceful weekend. AC runs well, fridge and microwave are available in the room. The kitchen is fully stocked, just ask Maggie for something before you go out and buy it! It was a perfect getaway and staycation for us. I would definitely recommend this to family and friends!
This property is located in a quiet part of the island, away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Honolulu. Allows you to come and go as you need. I was able to use the Bus system from the airport out to the house, it saved me over 50 dollars. Just make sure you check the schedule ahead of time. I was able to get around the whole island from here. To get up to the north shore is time consuming, but allows a very relaxed and scenic trip if you have the time. Again check the schedule ahead of time.
We loved our stay at Hawaii Kai #329783! It is in a convenient, beautiful and safe location. The owner and her home exudes the Spirit of Alohà. She made us feel like special guests. You will find big fluffy towels, a comfortable bed, microwave and fridge in each room. There are also all the expected amenities (toiletries, hairdryer etc ) and you will have the use of lots of beach equipment plus wi-fi. Everything is kept spotless.
This rental is a great value. The dogs , Koa and Oreo, are precious and so well behaved. Koa waited patiently by our patio door each morning to say hello and give us a hug. We are so glad we chose to stay here and hope to return soon! !
