The best view in Cancun, really. The best location in Cancun, really. On the beach and in the heart of everything.
Newly refurbished and refurnished after Hurricane Wilma, the penthouse has new beds, TVs, sofas, dining set, drapes, air conditioning and more.
Open the telescoping sliding glass doors and step onto the balcony of this two-story penthouse. The crashing waves of the Caribbean Sea below you. The sweeping view from Punta Cancun to Punta Nizuc. The trade winds blowing everything around. Nice.
Walk out the back of the lobby and you're on the beach. Dig your toes into the sand, turn left and walk 2 minutes and you're at the Forum By the Sea. Home of The Hard Rock Cafe, Rainforest Cafe, Hagen Dazs, Carlos 'n Charlies, and Coco Bongo. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks, or dancing, it's all there.
The loft offers a queen bed and a Jacuzzi. Great place to relax and count the paragliders sailing by. Downstairs is the second bedroom. It has a double and a single bed. The balcony overlooks the lagoon and the hottest nightclubs in Cancun, including Slice's and Dady'O which are right across the street. The main bathroom has wall to wall marble and a window in the shower so you can enjoy a view of the surf and sand all the way to the horizon.
The best view may be from the living room which has the two huge sliding glass doors. A double bed sleeper sofa is situated there. The kitchen has everything you need to cook simple meals and, most importantly, a fridge for keeping those tropical mangoes and papayas fresh for breakfast. Don't worry about cleaning up, maid service is every other day.
Condo is old and needs many updates. I would not recommend the location. It sleeps barely six people .
The undoubted wonder of this apartment is the spectacular wraparound view, along both sides of the endless beach, around to the lagoon behind.
The extensive corner balcony, accessible through large sliding window doors, lining two corner walls of the living room, allow you to immerse yourself in this vista, feeling like you're floating above the ocean. You can even see the surging waves from the upstairs loft bed - an uplifting and mesmerising sight in the morning.
The apartment comes fully equipped with a working kitchen, even including a blender for those ice cocktails. This was a huge plus for us, as we much preferred to just rustle up simple food and grab a cold beer from the fridge, lazing about in comfort, rather than the formalities of eating out (and why would we want to leave the best view in Cancun...!) While the kitchen does have all the necessary cooking and eating utensils, there was not any dish washing supplies (eg soap, sponge, dish cloth). However, it was easy to purchase them from the nearby supermarket, a very large one with pretty much everything you might need, about 5 minutes walk away.
Bathrooms (one upstairs, en suite to the loft bed, and another one downstairs, next to the other bedroom) were clean and reasonably sized, although there is very little water pressure from either shower, but was still fine for us.
Although the apartment building is just down the road from the popular Coco Bongo, Daddy O's and Mandala clubs, we did not hear much noise at all in the apartment, particularly when we had our own music / TV on. We did not have any trouble sleeping in the apartment at all.
Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay at the apartment and would happily spend many more days soaking in that gorgeous view and boogie boarding in the waves below.
It's all about location! Walking distance to everything and right next to the major clubs. Main beach just steps out the back door. Awesome balcony with southern exposure for sunning!
This place is in the middle of it all! Loved the views and the ease of access to nightlife. Beach was not too crowded and chairs are affordable with service for food and drinks.
If you don't want to be secluded to your hotel this is the place for you. There is a fantastic grocery store a few blocks away with everything you need to fill the fridge.
easily slept 5 people
the staff was accommodating with all of our needs.
condo was cleaned every other day
gated entrance with security
taxis right outside front gate for easy transport.
fantastic views! porch wraps around the side so you have ocean and lagoon views from 9 stories high.
patio doors open up very wide for a nice breeze when cooler outside.
CONS: (most of which is the building in general, not the owners fault)
Power is questionable, could not run all A/C units to initially cool the place down. kept blowing the fuse breaker. (could not run upstairs A/C with the downstairs unit at the same time. setting the units to 20 seemed to be the setting that didn't blow the breaker)
We had friends staying at another location and were not able to come up to our room to see it, and finish getting ready before we left.
water pressure was not very good, made for tough showers.
For 5 guys in their mid 30's this was the perfect for us. The price and our needs were met if not exceeded.
The location was excellent for those who don't want to catch a cab or a bus to enjoy the nightlife and for those who would like to enjoy the beach. All of the bars and clubs (coco bongo, fat tuesdays, la vaquinta, the city) were directly beside the hotel if you walked out of the front door. Their was also direct beach access directly out of the back door. I wouldn't recommend the Salvia for a family atmosphere. It was safe but it was loud at times and there is a lot of action near the clubs after about 7pm that children shouldn't be around.
