We recently stayed at the Mountain Brook Suites and will most definitely be returning for another visit. The hospitality we received from Patce and Heather was undeniably some of the best accommodating and friendliest we have ever received. We were greeted by Patce and Heather when we arrived, and they even had a fresh rose in our room awaiting our arrival. We found the Suites to be very clean and very nice. We were able to bring our 2 canine family members, which made the trip even more enjoyable. And Hooper, our 80lb lab, loved the stream that flows right beside the property. Patce and Heather rolled out the red carpet for our dogs, with special treats and bedding. It was something we weren't expecting, but again highly appreciated. The level of detail they paid to making sure we had everything we needed - for us and for our dogs -- was just fabulous. The Suites are located just a couple of blocks off Main Street, right in the heart of Highlands, and it was an easy walk to almost anywhere we wanted to go - shopping, restaurants, sightseeing in town. The location couldn't have been better. The photos represented on this site look exactly like the accommodations. We would definitely recommend Mountain Brook Suites to anyone. Highlands is a great place to visit -- and the hospitality we received on top of these wonderful accommodations made our 3-day getaway from the Atlanta bustle just awesome! We are definitely planning to return for a Summer visit.
My husband, daughter, small dogs and I just spent the weekend in one of Heather & Patce's suites and couldn't have been more comfortable or content with our stay. The suites are on the back/top floor of a small, quaint shopping center just one block from Main Street with its own private parking lot and easy access from the top street level. Our room was large (enormous bathroom), spotlessly clean and well appointed throughout - even had a private porch overhanging a lovely stream below. The bedding was luxurious, towels and soaps all very nice and plentiful - the room decor immaculate but perhaps a bit 1990's (not a complaint, just an observation), a quaint fireplace with auto switch on the wall for instant coziness, lots of brochures to help us discover area site seeing, shopping, dining, etc. Our daughter was comfortable on the pull-out sofa, but it should be noted that you are all in one big room rather than some suites where there is a separate bedroom for the king sized bed.
Our hosts were very and attentive without being overly present - tried to give us dog food when we'd forgotten our own! - and seem to sincerely care about our comfort. They really did welcome our dogs - the property has a sweet little, obscured area just for doggies that cozies right up to the babbling stream - by providing us luxury dog beds (!), adorable food/water bowls and gourmet treats from local Wolfgang pet bakery. As an allergy sufferer, I was a little worried about being affected by previous pets (ours are non-shedding), but never had any problems at all.
One of our favorite discoveries of the visit was where they sent us each morning for our complimentary breakfasts at the Mountain Fresh Grocery store just a block away. As big food lovers/cooks, we were most pleased with the high-quality foods, wines, in-store roasted coffee (!), espresso bar... what a find! We also ate lunch there and bought a number of things to bring back home to Atlanta.
We will most definitely be back to this surprising little find in the Mountainbrook Suites. Great accommodations, terrific proximity to shopping and restaurants, beautiful hiking trails/scenic sites/waterfalls to enjoy... Thanks so much for such a nice weekend!
Luxurious furnishings and great owners. Much better than a hotel room. Everything is close by. We have stayed there twice & both times have been great visits. Owners Pat & Heather took great care of us.
On our last visit, it snowed through the night & in the morning they blew the snow from our car & even brought us breakfast because everything was closed.
We look forward to returning.
