Perfect vacation at Neal's Pond

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation at the Lake House on Neal's Pond. The camp was very well maintained and stocked, and we had everything we needed. We had a great time watching the loons, geese, ducks and turtles, who live in the cove. We were especially excited to watch the Osprey as it fished right in front of the camp. We will definitely return for future vacations.

A Perfect Rental

  • 5 of 5

I was more than pleased with this lake house rental, and I couldn't have asked for more. The location is quiet and on a serene and private lake with the most spectacular view of the mountains behind it. The morning view over the lake will certainly bring be back to this rental again. The home itself is cozy and inviting, and all the amenities are provided. I had need to interact with the renter Thomas a few times and he was always promptly responsive, and helpful. I would highly recommend this location.

Great Location... Quiet... Beautiful Property

  • 5 of 5

This was everything we could have asked for and more. We're already in the process of booking the place for next year. Just don't go up Tug Mountain Rd in a car... whew!!! Our GPS was way off when getting back after visiting Lancaster.

The neighbors were fantastic, the boat was great... we had a nice fire every night... grill worked great... beds were comfy.. radio was great to have... everything we needed was there in the Kitchen and bathrooms...

We cannot wait to get back ASAP!!!!!!!!

Peace, beauty, and a quiet place to work

  • 5 of 5

This is our second stay at the lake front house on Neal Pond, and we'll be coming back. I am a software engineer and normally work remotely from my home. Home can be anywhere, so all I need is solid internet service. It's hard to find a rental surrounded by such beauty, yet with DSL service so that I could escape the New York City heat and get my work done. If we lose power during a storm, it's usually back on shortly thereafter.

This house has everything we need. There is a washing machine, dryer and a dishwasher, a fully equipped kitchen, a fire pit, propane grill, and picnic table. Every day after finishing work, we grilled our dinner and ate outside. Then my wife and I would do a row around the pond before sitting outside by the campfire and watching the sun set behind the hills. The bass jumped in the pond, the frogs croaked, and the loons and ducks swam by. Friendly neighbors would say hello or join us.

My wife likes to bake and cook, so another bonus was a Shaw's supermarket just 15 minutes away in Lancaster, NH. We saw an excellent show at the Weathervane theatre, Circus Smirkus in St Johnsbury, a classical music concert in Bethlehem NH, toured the Great North Woods of New Hampshire, and drove the back roads of Vermont looking for moose (we have yet to spot one). We went to Canada one evening for a delicious French dinner.

The house is clean and everything works. The owner or his family promptly took care of any small issue or question we had. Would we recommend this rental? Definitely! But don't come when we want to!

A hidden slice of heaven

  • 5 of 5

Right from the beginning this was a vacation meant to be incredible. This is my first time renting a vacation home like this. The owner made it simple and easy. On arrival everything was as discussed and in fact even better than I imagined. It had everything my two young children and I needed and we are talking about making this a yearly trip. I would suggest anyone that is looking for a summer vacation in a rustic setting to give the Neal Pond Lakehouse a try. It is well worth the money.

A few quick facts.

The beds were comfortable and I slept amazingly. My kids had not complaints either. The sheets seemed a little outdated but were clean and comfortable enough. If you are picky about your sheets, Just bring your own.

The view is absolutely spectacular. Other than the two bedrooms and the bathroom you can see the view from anywhere in the house as the lake wall is almost completely glass.

We did not do too much fishing but right from the shoreline my son caught several sunfish and a smallmouth bass. it was enough for him to really enjoy it.

Did I mention the view?

The well water was clear and fresh with no taste that I have gotten from other wellwater.

The fire pit is perfect. Sitting around the fire is the perfect way to end the day and you are looking over it at the water and it is just incredibly serene.

On the way to the closest supermarket you can get a good view of the white mountains. Those that love to spend time in nature and want to get off the lake are within an hour of several parks and not much further than that is Mount Washington.

I guess that is about it other than saying the place had everything we needed from linens to pans and everything in between. We just brought our clothes, our toiletries and some movies and had the most incredible week.
