200 year old post and beam renovated barn is nestled on secluded 10 acres situated one mile from Longnook Beach, the Cape's most beautiful ocean beach in the National Seashore park. The barn is adjacent to the park and offers many secluded walks. It has a brand new deck. Open floor plan on first floor with full kitchen and sleeps four with loft. Flower and Vegetable gardens galore!
If you're looking for central-air, flat-screen TV's, a Jacuzzi and nightlife, stay at home! If you're looking for a place to boil-up some lobsters, curl up with a good book and be content with the sounds of chirping birds and crickets, The Barn is the place for you. It's clean, cheery, simple and has great character. Most of my Summers have been spent in Truro, as a boy, and then with my children, fishing from its beaches, swimming in the Ocean, Bay and Kettle Ponds, wandering aimlessly at low-tide and riding my bike. The Barn is located on one of the most beautiful roads you'll ever see, leading to one of the most exquisite beaches in the world. And, if by chance, you get the need for some "nightlife," Provincetown is a fifteen minute drive.
My family has rented the Barn these last 5 years. We love the energy of the space. The light, the hammock, the deck where we entertain and cook out. It is a bonus to have the best local organic vegetables just down below waiting for you. It is also the very best location if you are like me and want to run down to the ocean first thing in the morning. The Wifi is excellent and the loft doesn't get too hot because of the exit fan. It is a wonderful Cape rental.
Our family had a wonderful stay at the barn. We took a one week vacation with our 6 and 8 year old daughters. The accommodations were just perfect for the kids. It has an old English garden cottage feel. We slept up in the loft while the kids slept on the daybeds. The first floor is all open which was a big plus for our family. The inside is rustic, but very cozy and comfortable.
Other amenities include a deck with a grill. The outdoor shower was a lot of fun. We never showered inside. In addition, the girls loved the hammock. A plus is the farm stand at the end of the driveway. We ate fresh salads every night. Internet did not come in very well in the barn, but just outside by the outdoor shower it came in. This worked well for us. We'd look up things to do or places to go, but weren't constantly checking. So this was a plus for us.
The barn is a mile and a half from Longnook beach. Longnook is beautiful, but the water is colder and the waves bigger. We headed to Corn Hill beach on the bay side. That was perfect for our kids, and also gorgeous with views of Provincetown. We had bought a week parking pass for Truro beaches for $60. It's a worthy investment for a family. There are a number of Truro beaches. Additionally, we headed to Provincetown a few times during the week. That was just a quick drive up route 6.
Overall, the barn made for a great spot for our family vacation. We plan on returning!
The ambiance at the barn is perfect for a beach vacation. Very comfortable and lovely, clean and well maintained. The owners were available if needed and offered suggestions for great places to eat.
The barn is 1.5 miles from our favorite Truro beach. We were able to hike from the barn through some of the nicest forest trails on the Cape. The barn is close to our favorite bike rides and to our favorite places to kayak.
The one draw back-which is also, ironically, one of the pluses, is that it is on a working farm. Some of the noise from the tractor got in the way of enjoying morning coffee on the deck. However, this drawback was totally offset by the location, price setting and the barn itself.
We both highly recommend staying here.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this charming and comfortable setting. Our hosts could not have been more helpful and provided excellent recommendations for dining and hiking. The location is great, minutes away from P'town and Wellfleet but far from the madding crowd. Also, very close to a beautiful beach. And, the proximity of fresh, organic veggies from the farm are an added bonus. We hope to return.
We had a delightful stay in Longnook. We enjoyed easy access to a beautiful beach, just up the road. The organic farm across the way, with its self help/honor system allowed us easy access to excellent produce for our "stay at home" meals. Peter and Dilys were great hosts and were solicitous yet respectful of our privacy. We would happily stay there again.
10 miles from Provincetown, the very tip of Cape Cod, one mile from breathtakingly beautiful Longnook ocean beach and one mile from Cape Cod Bay. Situated on a 10 acre farm with flower and organic vegetables to delight.
