Cisco is one of the most desirable locations on the island because it has beautiful beaches that face towards the sun and the summer breezes. Big waves on some days attract the surfers from all over the cape and the islands. Cisco also is one of the few beaches that has lifeguards, a nice feature if you have small children. Cisco also is very close to the town of Nantucket so you can zip into town for shopping and dinner yet stay nearby in the quiet and tranquility of this seaside location. We are surrounded by unspoiled pastures of conservation land , the ocean and the farm that everyone shops at for their fresh produce, cheeses, pies, bread, and other staples.
The house sits on a totally secluded lot with a big deck that you can sun bathe on or dine outdoors or just sit and read your book while listening to the surf.
The house is totally outfitted with everything you need. Bring your car if you want to see the entire island and get around with ease. Bring your bikes ( or you can rent them and they will deliver them to the house if you wish) there are bike paths on most major roads. Bring your golf clubs(or rent them at the clubhouse) and play at the Miacomet golf course nearby. Pack your cooler with food and liquor (both of which you can buy here but we like to pack our own and throw it in the back of the car) and save some money to pay for a fabulous dinner out one night. We always like to have one dinner on the beach. Take the beach-grille and pick up a piece of fresh fish (or catch your own fresh striper - yum!) and grille dinner on the beach with a nice bottle of wine and just enjoy watching the sun set.
Up early in the morning to go fishing (I drive my car on the beach with a special permit - available to anyone with a four wheel drive), home in time to go to the beach, late afternoon we are on the golf course, and then something special for dinner. Occasional walks or biking if the weather is not nice or into town for shopping/galleries (I go down to the harbor and check out the yachts - Johnny Depp's was there last time - awesome)
Charter Fishing and Whale watching on the Althea K with Captain Pete. Guaranteed to be the highlight of your trip. We always catch a ton of Stripers and Pete is one of the most enjoyable people you will ever meet.
We have been going to Nantucket for over 15 years and we still have not done all the things we would like to because there is so much to do.
Keywords: Cute Nantucket Home that is very close to Ladies Beach, lifeguards, walking trails, golf, farm stand, fish market, Cisco Brewery, fishing and surfing. Very private setting with large deck and fully appointed home with antique furniture and all amenities.
Nantucket is one of the prettiest and most desirable vacation destinations on the east coast. Guest come from as far away as Europe to enjoy the beautiful beaches and the world class shopping and restaurants. Secluded and unspoiled this paradise island is one of a kind.
Our beach is one of the best on the island. The house is near Bartlett's Farm which has all the fresh produce sold on the island. The best public golf course is next to the farm. There is a fresh fish store is at the end of our Street. There are walking trails and bike paths all around. Horse back riding, public tennis courts in town, rent a sailboat or sail with an experience captain. Sport fishing and whale watching a must. Visit the Whaling Museum and see the whale carcass that washed up on the beach one day. Visit the lifesaving Museum and learn about the old days of shipwrecks and rescues by the shore boats. Go to Cisco Brewers, just a short distance from the house. to experience the Nantucket version of a European Beer Garden. Try their ales, wines or vodka and enjoy the live music, and lively atmosphere. Go into town and walk the cobblestone streets and check out the art galleries or the shopping which will be sure to please any woman. For the best meals on the island (or anywhere) go to the Club Car, where the waiters wear white dinner jackets, or go to the Chanticleer for an amazing dining experience in a quaint old inn, or go to the Galley and enjoy fine dining on the beach. So much to do, your vacation will just fly by.
Hi Chris...We had a fabulous time at your house...it was absolutely perfect for my family! We had wonderful days on the beach and one great morning of fishing with Peter...I can't believe that I'm tired on eating bass:) We would love to talk with you about renting again next year...keep us in the loop, okay? I'll pop the key right in the mail.
Thanks so much. Jean
p.s. I think that we only used one inside shower, twice...love that outside shower!
