This is our family's second home and we welcome your family / group to create new, great memories that you will cherish for years. We have enjoyed this condo for more then a decade. The two bedrooms are separated by the living room / dining room / kitchen area. One bedroom is a suite with a private full bath and the other bath opens into the living area. All the amenities (pool, hot tub, game room,...) are located within the building. After a fun filled day around Summit or Eagle County, this quiet retreat at the foot of Buffalo Mountain is just like home, nestled in the woods at 9,600 feet above sea-level. Just outside is direct access into the White River National Forest Wilderness Area, thousands of acres of trails which you can take all the way to Vail, if your bold enough! Some weekends we don't leave the property; we hike, ski, and board right here in the forest.
The pictures are of our family over the years, from Colorado, Maryland and Illinois. Please be sure and sign the guest book upon your departure, our kids love to read where everyone is from and how much fun you had while visiting. Several repeat guests enjoy themselves every year, so understand I can book your 'annual' trip a year in advance.
I am a licensed REALTOR in Colorado and manage the condo personally for our family to keep costs down and enjoyment up! Please contact me directly at JerryMalia@msn.com for reservations and to avoid the service fees VRBO has begun charging each of my reservations. I have a local cleaning company and an on-site HOA management company who take care of things day to day. We have continued use the condo monthly, so we may bump into each other.
We all hope you can enjoy our condo as much as we do and respect that it's our home too.

My mountain love affair began as a seasonal general kitchen worker at the West Portal in Winter Park, 1991- 1992. I skied 80 days that year, worked in the West Portal kitchen, the loading dock, managed the vending machines and then moved over to Pepperoni's on the Jane. I gained my full expert status that year skiing in and out of bounds. Trained with ski patrol for avalanche awareness and how to be prepared for the back country. But since having children, I have dialed it back substantially. I have jumped off enough cliffs and hit enough moguls but I can't get enough powder.
Jerry Malia purchased this condo in 2001
We realized to have all the amenities (pool, hot tub, racquetball, game room, . . . ) inside the same building is worth it for convenience and for kids. The game room is literally 20 steps from the condo, the pool / hot tub is one floor down via elevator. We also are able to enjoy the amenities of the CC/DD building (downhill across parking lot). The CC/DD building has game room, HOA office, dry sauna, heated swimming pool and hot tub.
Its quiet. We have several full time residents who live and WORK in Summit County. After a sunny day of skiing, putting your feet up by the fire with a cup, reading a book, watching a movie, playing cards, puzzles, games. It is very relaxing. We have just added Wi-Fi, so now you can stay connected, if you want? I have found that there is more to do durning the Spring & Summer months and the rates are less expensive. A Summer experience at 9,600 feet is great.
This was our first time staying at the condo, hopefully it won't be our last. Our family consists of me, my husband and our 5 & 3 year old children. First of all, It was quite nice to find the room on the same floor as the main entrance to the building. It makes for quick work unloading the car!
Next, as the owner states, this is clearly their second home. It was great to find the kitchen stocked with the basic (and more) necessities. There's nothing more frustrating than renting a place with a kitchen, bringing your own food, then discovering you need salt or ketchup, or creamer. I never assume those things are included, but it is nice that they allow use of those items. I assume some items have been left by previous renters as well. Pay it forward.
Each room has a tv with limited stations (you are in the mountains after all) and there is a selection of DVD movies to choose from in addition to a large Disney VHS collection as well. My children loved picking out a movie to watch from the bunk beds!
They also have an assortment of board games, puzzles and books to help you unwind. There are 2 balconies, but they were covered in snow during our stay, but I'll bet it would be a nice place to have a morning cup of coffee, or after dinner drink.
There is also a nice wood burning fireplace with instructions, kindling, wood and tools necessary to make a cozy night.
The location is up Wildernest Rd. We went to Keystone Resort during our stay and it only took us 25 minutes to get there. We were in line to be first on the lifts that day!
The city of Silverthorne and Dillon both offer plenty in the way of restaurants and shops. It's just a quick ride down the hill and you're in the midst of Silverthorne.
There must also be a shuttle that goes around Wildernest Loop because there always many people waiting with ski/snowboard gear. There is a stop just across the main street from this condo.
All in all -- great place to stay, highly recommended!
