AMAZING HOME!!

  • 5 of 5

You have to stay here! We had 3 families from 3 different states share this home for a Graduation event. We took turns cooking breakfasts and dinners in the home. Everything that you could imagine was available in the kitchen for our needs. We played games at night in the family room which was more than large enough to accommodate all 12 of us. The home was warm, comfortable and friendly. AMAZING yards surround the whole home. We sat out on the large deck overlooking huge trees and watching the owls come into the trees at night. Our tip was filled with good wine shipped from California, laughter. conversations and good times. Then we were able to get into a very comfortable bed each day to enjoy a great night sleep. The owners also were extremely prompt with any questions that I had about the property before I booked it. I really can't say enough about how this home helped us have the most incredible time with family and friends! We did not want to leave!!!!! WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK for our next graduation! Thanks for an AMAZING place to stay!!!

Very Glad we came....

  • 4 of 5

Overall, the property met our needs. Highlights include

1)Great house for many couples in your group. We had 6 married couples, some with small children. The rooms are large and accommodating.

2) Family room great for large groups. We met each morning there for a devotional. We also had a dance party, and talent show in that space

3) Backyard excellent for outdoor fun and play. We had a games competition there, as well as had the children running around, and kicking balls, etc.

4) Kitchen is well stocked, though some are out of date. We had an Iron Chef competition there, cooked most of our meals there, and enjoyed the enclave off the kitchen as a hang out spot

5) The owners are very responsive to our needs before and during our stay.

However, there are a number of small things that could make it better

1) Pot holders - We are active in the kitchen, and baked most days, so needed a potholder. The owner brought one to us though.

2) Tile on porch table on porch. Some of the tile are cracked and unstable.

3) Bathmats. They are cool looking, but on the floor they slip and slide when you get out of the tub.

4) Air conditioning Kind of kit and miss with this one. We had rooms that were ice cold, and others that were much warmer.

5) Missing bed covers. We had an issue with a bed appearing to be made, but there not actually being any blanket or bed covering for it.

6) Maybe not a good place for toddlers. The home is beautiful, but in that beauty some of the decor may not be suitable for toddlers. We were able to move somethings around, to secure them, but still encountered a few things along the way.

As I said - the house met our needs. We loved being there! Greensburo is a great place and we are very happy to have this home as part of our memory and time.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to write such an extensive review. We appreciate your input and will address the back porch tiles. We always encourage our guests to call or text us with any concerns so we can address them immediately as we did with your pot holder issue. We keep blankets for each bedroom in the closets, and we did notice an AC vent in one of the bedrooms and in the dining room was closed. This was probably the cause for hot versus cold in some rooms. I agree our home is not child proof, but our guests move a few items as you did to make things work for their needs. Again, thank you for staying with us and glad you found Greensboro an enjoyable place to visit.

5-STAR Cleanliness and Very Comfortable

  • 5 of 5

We could not have asked for a more clean and comfortable stay during our time in Greensboro. It was exceptional. The house was spotless throughout including the kitchen, baths and all the bedrooms. It was better than what they have pictured on the VRBO/ HomeAway website. The kitchen was spacious and fully equipped with all the amenities of home plus more. Our large party enjoyed our time together while preparing meals in the kitchen with adjoining sitting area. The living area was extremely comfortable with ample seating for everyone. White crisp linens and blankets in all the bedrooms with white towels in all the baths. It was better than a luxury hotel. Thank you for opening your home to us, and we will be back on our next trip to Greensboro.

Not Cleaned Properly!! No Bedspreads!!

  • 2 of 5

We always take extremely good care of every property we stay in, attempting to leave it just as we found it - or better. I have to say that I was dissappointed on some of the things that we found or experienced and I wanted to let everyone know about them. The refridgerator, stove, dishwasher, and kitchen backsplash were not cleaned. Food remnants were left in all these areas and it really grossed us out. There are no privacy blinds in the downstairs master bath and the walk-in shower has a clear glass that looks right out to the neighbor's deck! The owner came back the evening we arrived and sprayed window frosting to cover this up.There was a gross-looking smudge on the turquoise bedroom by the light switch. The owners told me this was from the A/C installers. The owners came by and addressed the cleanliness issues the evening we arrived. But I rent a house to get away usually, and it was just inconvenient and unacceptable to have to chase down the owners for this when I am supposed to be on vacation. We had several things that were noticed throughout the stay that we just had to put up with. Hot water - two 10 min showers and you are completely out of hot water. This is just plain unacceptable for a 6 bedroom house. No bedspreads in the entire house and only a very few thin blankets. I have never been in a house that did not have bedspreads. The owners said that this is because they do not have time to wash them in between renters... Mattress discomfort - I did not get feedback on all the mattresses, but the room my wife and I stayed in with the turquoise color had an extremely uncomfortable mattress. Our lower backs were sore for two days afterwards! We are atheleticly built, mid-thirties adults, so this is unusual for us. I take the time to tell this so that hopefully these things can be corrected for the next guests. The owners did offer a very small monetary compensation for the inconveniences.

Owner's Response: We are most sorry you were disappointed in your stay. We try to overly satisfy our guests- as we did you & your family. When we promptly returned (within 45 min after receiving your text) we expected to meet you & surprised you were not present. We handled all text concerns as the kitchen was totally re-cleaned including refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, backsplash & re-cleaned floors. The window in master bath walk-in shower is blue/grey stain/lead glass. The small area that is clear glass we sprayed w/ frosted paint. You were told we have 2 master showers-other in toilet area. Decided to keep as an addition after the remodel. We explained the 2 black 2" marks in the turquoise bedroom were from HVAC contractors installing new heat pump for 2nd floor. They nicked the wall w/ black grease when removing the old unit. Their work was completed Wed prior to your arrival & marks could not be removed w/ magic eraser & required paint touch-up. We did not do this as it would have left a paint smell in the room. The hot water you addressed after your stay- totally surprised. We have two 50-gallon hot water heaters-more than sufficient. We've had more than 32 large groups w/14 guests per stay & never had a complaint, but we did follow up on your concern. We ran the hot water in 2 showers for over 20 min & still had hot water. We apologize for your circumstance-most unusual. No bedspreads-correct. Intentionally not used as bedspreads cannot be washed after each stay. Must be dry cleaned. I refuse to use inexpensive bargain store linens instead using heavy white coverlets/quilts. I wash all white linens in hot water & Clorox to ensure all is properly sanitized- common at your nicer hotels. Not an issue of wash time as coverlets take as much time or longer. I thought your linens would be sufficient for your stay w/ 8 guests. Again, had I known- extras in an upstairs closet. I apologize your mattress did not suit your back. It is in very good condition- quality, quilted pillow top. If notified, we could have moved this mattress to another bedroom & switched for another. I am shocked you did not contact us to let us know these things- as we responded quickly upon your arrival text. Your stay was discounted over 25%- a considerable monetary compensation for inconvenience. Allowed you an earlier arrival than originally specified. Again, sorry for your disappointment, but we went out of our way to satisfy as even mailing back an item left behind.
