It met all our needs and we had an enjoyable week.

  • 4 of 5

When we initially booked this house we felt a bit nervous that it would be too fancy and that we would have to be super careful with our young children with all the breakable decorations but we were very comfortable here. The upstairs room was a perfect hang out place for the kids and the other bedrooms were comfortable as well. Everything was reasonably clean and the kitchen was well stocked.

The only issue we had was that the kitchen and upstairs bathroom faucets were loose and very difficult to turn on and off and it was tricky to figure out how to make them not drip. The toilets also were tricky to figure out as they did not flush easily. The dishwasher also was complicated to figure out as it required a light switch being turned on in order to make it work. There was also not a plug in the bathtub so you could not give small children a bath so if you have young kids you should be prepared to have them shower. Whenever we did have an issue though the owner did respond quickly to answer our questions.

Overall, it worked well for us and we were very satisfied with our stay. The location is very good and there is a grocery store just five minutes away.

Owner's Response: So glad it met your needs. We will address those faucet issues. The kitchen sink does seem to loosen over time. It is probably time for Dylan to retighten. Thanks for calling it to our attention. We will label the dishwasher switch for future renters. It is our home, and we sometimes forget all the ins and outs as in every home. We will also label this information on the instruction sheet. Sorry, but we do not have plugs for the tubs. We've had two renters overflow the tubs flooding the bathroom and leaking through the ceiling into the family room. Very costly repair. As for the toilets, they work great but you do have to hold the handle an extra second or two. I know you had several young children, and they can get impatient. Thanks again for staying with us and making our home your home while visiting Greensboro.

Beautiful House, Gracious Hosts

  • 5 of 5

Our family came to Greensboro to attend a wedding and needed a place large enough for everyone. The six bedrooms and large amounts of common space made this house the perfect choice. We were greeted with flowers in the kitchen, and everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

I would stay there again should the need arise. I hope they would have us back.

Our Expectations Were More Than Met.......

  • 5 of 5

This was our first experience renting a home instead of staying in a hotel and we weren't disappointed! Connie was extremely accommodating allowing us to stop by and see the venue when we happened to be in town a few months before our stay. The house is indeed majestic and extremely comfortable.

Each room evokes its own feeling as they vary in color and decor. You instantly feel like you're at home. The common areas are spacious and there is a beautiful deck and backyard for relaxing and entertaining.

The house is well equipped with those ancillary items you might not think about in advance. We had some local friends visit and found party ware to lay out refreshments; we found an extension cord and other items that allowed us to fully enjoy "our home away from home." Thank you Connie for allowing us to have such a positive experience.

One suggestion--our time at the house had weather that was a bit chillier than usual. While each room other than the master bedroom had a light blanket in the closet, you might consider having additional ones or some a bit heavier.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind words. We try very hard to please our renters. I took you suggestion and added heavier quilts in the bedroom closets. Thanks again for staying with us.

Nice but needs attention.

  • 3 of 5

A great location and lots of room for guests. It was not as clean as I had hoped. The kitchen was not spotless and the appliances were worn and not working (stove). Some of the cupboard doors off hinges and inside cupboards were dirty. We had to refashion most glassware and utensils. The outside furniture was dirty. As was one upstairs bathroom. Very dusty in places. It was chilly and the blankets even with spares was inadequate. We did not turn on the heat but should have in hindsight. It could have been exquisite but it really needs a thorough cleaning and kitchen update.

Owner's Response: I am so very, very sorry our home did not meet every one of your expectations. Yes, one eye on the stove broke with the previous renters. They left on Sunday and you arrived Monday. I left a note. In hindsight, should have had GE come in and repair during your stay. Yes, one cabinet hinge broke as well. Sorry for this inconvenience. As for an update on appliances, I can't see this being needed as we have a Stainless Kitchenaid refrigerator, a stainless flat surface GE profile stove, a stainless LG Microwave and a Kenmore dishwasher. I am sure the deck furniture did get some dirt on it as you contacted me about the tornado that came through the area. I contacted Duke Power for you to see when power would be restored. Luckily, it was not out long. I wish you would have mentioned your displeasure with our home during these texts. We are in the area and have people who can come and take care of anything you may need. We just had the AC serviced so the air is cold when blowing, but we have thermostats on each level to make sure you can control your comfort range. Again, I am sorry for your unhappiness, we try to accommodate our renters any way we can to make sure they are comfortable, but we need to be told what to do during the stay. Thanks again for staying with us and your feedback. We will reassess your comments.
